The Dark TowerAfter several years and different versions of the project, it looked as if Ron Howard and his team at Imagine Entertainment were finally going to bring us to "The Dark Tower."

Now, not so sure. Several news outlets, including Deadline and The Hollywood Reporter, are hearing that Howard's ambitious plan to team with Universal for three film and two television adaptations of Stephen King's masterwork has been put on hold. Staff members working on the project have reportedly been put on "hiatus" as Universal contemplates ways to bring down the budget on the massive "Dark Tower" endeavor.

THR adds that Universal's current thinking regarding "Dark Tower" centers not just on budgetary concerns, but also a "creatively lacking" final portion of the project. The outlet indicates that the final call on whether or not to move forward is "expected soon." But Deadline reports that no matter what happens next, plans to start shooting in September have been scrapped.

Star Warsby Matt Marquez

The "Star Wars" prequels don't get a lot of love from fans of the franchise. It's understandable. But on today of all days we have to show some appreciation for even these newer chapters of George Lucas' epic space saga. Search your hearts (and calendars) and you'll see why.

That's right, it's May 4th, "Star Wars" Day, when everyone is asked to be one with the Force. So May the Fourth be with you as it is with us, as we try -- try -- to bestow some compassion on all of Lucas' creations.

"The Phantom Menace," "Attack of the Clones," and "Revenge of the Sith" follow Anakin Skywalker's rise to power and fall to the Dark Side. Grim stuff, but within the tragic tale (for more reasons than one) are plenty of epic duels, surprising revelations and classic droid action. Here are some of our favorite scenes from the prequels.

So, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley is at the top of Maxim's Hot 100 list. Can't say we don't agree with the pick -- have you seen her photographs? -- but still, even if we're about to get to know her better, movie fans don't exactly have the best idea of who Rosie is as an actress.

That's about to change when "Transformers: Dark of the Moon" hits theaters this summer as Huntington-Whiteley steps in for Megan Fox as Shia LaBeouf's new love interest. Even with the movie still months away from release, we already know a whole lot about her character, Carly. After the jump, refresh yourself on all the details surrounding Rosie's "Transformers" heroine!

In "Harry Potter" mythology, today (May 2) marks the 13th anniversary of The Battle of Hogwarts, the historic day where the forces of good and evil collided and fought for the fate of magic-users and muggles everywhere.

It's a bittersweet occasion for several reasons. On the one hand, the Battle of Hogwarts — spoiler alert if you haven't read the books — marked the end of He Who Must Not Be Named's reign. It was also a fantastic reading experience for "Potter" fans. But even though our heroes emerged victorious, the Battle of Hogwarts claimed the lives of several fan-favorite characters as well, adding no small amount of tragedy to the otherwise triumphant day.

We're honoring the fallen "Potter" heroes who died during the Battle of Hogwarts after the jump — and though it should go without saying, there are spoilers ahead.

Game of ThronesEpisode Title: "Lord Snow"

Story: After the long journey down the Kingsroad, Eddard Stark (Sean Bean) arrives in King's Landing to begin his work as the Hand of the King. But it turns out that King Robert (Mark Addy) prefers drinking, whoring and hunting to his actual kingly duties, and has somehow managed to get the country 6 million crowns (their form of currency) in debt. While Ned deals with the repercussions of that discovery, his eldest daughter Sansa (Sophie Turner) gets settled into court life and his youngest daughter Arya (Maisie Williams) begins taking sword lessons with her blade, Needle.

Back in Winterfell, Bran (Isaac Hempstead-Wright) can't remember the events that led up to his fall, but the fact that the 10-year-old is now paralyzed from the waist down leaves him wishing for death. His mother Catelyn (Michelle Fairley) reaches King's Landing and voices her fears about the Lannisters to Ned, while the Lannister twins -- Queen Cersei (Lena Headey) and her brother Jaime (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) -- worry about whether Bran will end up remembering it was them who pushed him. Jon Snow (Kit Harrington) makes enemies before friends with his fellow Night's Watch recruits at the Wall, and Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) has some climactic confrontations with her brother Viserys (Harry Lloyd).

There are a lot of funny movies coming our way this summer, and perhaps the funniest of the bunch is coming our way really soon -- Kristen Wiig's "Bridesmaids."

The "Saturday Night Live" comedian has already started clawing into the big screen with appearances in this year's "Paul" and the love-it-or-hate-it "MacGruber," but it's "Bridesmaids" that really shows what she's capable of. A relentlessly hilarious film with a surprising and touching emotional center, "Bridesmaids" is very clearly close to home for Wiig -- not only is she the main character (who is in virtually every single scene, if not all of them), she also co-wrote the comedy. In my mind, there's no question that this is her best work to date.

Given my fondness for the movie, I'm beyond psyched to present this exclusive clip from "Bridesmaids" as part of MTV's Summer Movie Preview week. You've already seen glimpses of this scene in the trailer, and it's Wiig at her absolute Wiigiest -- that's right, the airplane scene.
