In the lead-up to their big San Diego Comic-Con panel, Gandalf, Frodo, and the gang are gracing the pages and cover of the newest issue of Entertainment Weekly.
Warner Bros. is expected to bring "The Hobbit" out to San Diego next week in a very big way, so expect to see a lot more from Peter Jackson and the inhabitants of Middle Earth very, very soon.

Can you feel that anxious, caffeine-fueled, slightly sweaty energy in the air? It can only mean one thing: we're just about a month away from one of the biggest entertainment events of the year, San Diego Comic-Con.
As we inch closer and closer to the blissful July 12 start date (preview night being July 11), the official lineup of panels and guests is filling out quite nicely. According to Variety, this year's convention will be as action-packed as ever, despite the fact that several major studios will not yet confirm concrete plans.
Here's a rundown of the films that will most certainly make an appearance, as well as a few we think should.

FROM MTV MOVIES: The characters in the fairy tales you grew up listening to are people too. That's a big part of the story behind ABC's fantasy series "Once Upon a Time." From the minds of former "Lost" writers and producers Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis, "Once Upon a Time" follows the lives of a number of storybook characters who find themselves trapped in the real world after a curse is placed on them.
Jennifer Morrison ("Warrior") stars as Emma Swan, the woman tasked with saving the fairy-tale world and bringing back the happy endings. Morrison says that there's much more to the series than the familiar faces, like Snow White, and that the show is about something bigger and much more relatable.
"It's relationship driven. There is this sort of underlying universal thing," Morrison said. "We're in a time in our lives where the economy's kind of tough and jobs are tough, a lot of struggles people are facing. In a sense, our show really represents that in the curse that is on the characters and the hope that there is a way out, that you can band together and find a way out."

With a title like "Rise of the Planet of the Apes," you get what you're paying for when you hit the cinema this weekend.
But that's the fun of the latest "Planet of the Apes" reboot. Though anyone who's seen the classic Charlton Heston flick knows how this movie is going to end (hint: the apes will rise), it's the fresh story with its moral lesson that is the fun part of "Rise."
"The journey is the destination, I think," director Rupert Wyatt told MTV News at Comic-Con. "I think it's in the telling obviously, and that's how we wanted to approach the making of this film. The telling of the story and that's what to us was really intriguing and really exciting."

Luke Evans has been cast in "The Hobbit" as Bard the Bowman, but don't ask him anything about his experience working with director Peter Jackson -- because, believe it or not, he has never actually met the man. In fact, he did his whole "Hobbit" audition online.
"I auditioned for it like a year ago. It's amazing. Things happen like that sometimes on movies. Projects happen or they get stopped. As you know, 'The Hobbit's' had a lot of hurdles to jump before it started production," Evans explained. "So yeah, I auditioned for it a year ago and never heard a single thing back."
Obviously Evans has since heard back and has landed what might be considered the biggest role of his career thus far, and his cast members on "The Three Musketeers" have gotten him very excited to start shooting in New Zealand next week.

Machete don't text, but apparently he's cool with space travel.
At Robert Rodriguez's San Diego Comic-Con panel last week, the filmmaker floated an idea that after he makes "Machete Kills," a follow-up to last year's witty grindhouse flick, he'd go ahead and make "Machete Kills Again," a film that would take place in effing outer space!

One of the dreamquels that we never get sick of asking about is James Cameron's long rumored follow-up to "True Lies," and fortunately leading lady Eliza Dushku is always game to play ball when it comes to the subject.
MTV News caught up with the "Batman: Year One" star at San Diego Comic-Con during our livestream of the event, and fielded her a Twitter question saying a fan would love to see her "kick some butt" in "True Lies 2." Her response? "I think so too!" But there has been a bit of a hold-up from another one of the movie's stars.
"I think there's been a little a little snafu with the star. With the Schwarzenegger. It might be a minute," she said with a laugh.

One of the hottest upcoming films in Hollywood is Baz Luhrmann's adaptation of "The Great Gatsby," so it's no surprise that leading lady Carey Mulligan was a bit nervous about landing the role.
MTV News caught up with the "Never Let Me Go" star when she was at San Diego Comic-Con promoting her latest flick, "Drive," that costars Ryan Gosling and Bryan Cranston. According to her, waiting to hear back about the audition was quite a stressful experience for her.
"I auditioned for that when I was doing 'Drive,' so [director] Nick [Winding Refn] was there for the whole phone-ringing, agent, 'Ahh!' will I, won't I," Mulligan explained.

If you weren't able to keep up on all of the information we threw at you from San Diego Comic-Con, don't worry. We've corralled our five favorite big reveals from the worlds of movies (and some television). It's like you were here with us at the show! Take a look:
5. "Game of Thrones"
"Game of Thrones" hasn't started filming season two yet, but there were a few juicy revelations of the non-footage variety as the cast made their first ever Comic-Con appearance in front of 4,000 people (with 2,000 more trying to get in), even with direct competition from "Prometheus"!
At the "Game of Thrones" panel, which was moderated by George R.R. Martin himself, it was revealed that season two will stay loyal to the books, whereas season three (if they make it there) will start to deviate. They were careful not to spoil anything (referring to one event from the books as "R.W.") but offered up a great deal of excitement about executing more of the books' moments.
Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Kit Harrington, Lena Headey, Peter Dinklage, Jason Momoa and Emilia Clarke, plus producers David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, were all on hand and said that the season-one DVD will contain first-time auditions from all the actors before they were officially cast.

Eliza Dushku Talks "True Lies 2"
Eliza Dushku took some time out of promoting "Batman: Year One" to stop by the MTV livestream and chat about her upcoming film projects. Unsurprisingly, a "True Lies" sequel question was thrown her way by a Twitter follower. Her response? It might be a little while.
"I think there's been a little a little snafoo with the star. With the Schwarzenegger. I think it's going to be a minute," she said with a laugh. "For a while I was never even talking about it. And all of the sudden I started getting calls from the Governor's office in California saying, 'You aren't allowed to talk about 'True Lies.'"
