After many rumors and much hoopla, Matt Damon is finally lining up his directorial debut.

Variety has learned that Damon and "The Office" star John Krasinski have co-written a currently untitled script that Damon will now helm. The idea originated between Krasinski and "Away We Go" writer Dave Eggers, and then Damon came on board. The film would follow a salesman who reevaluates his life after moving to a small town, with Damon playing the salesman. The flick is currently set up at Warner Bros, and should start shooting soon on the east coast.

Anne Hathaway

Remember when Anne Hathaway took to the Oscars stage to great acclaim? No, the entirety of her hosting gig wasn't a success, but when she sang "On My Own" opposite Hugh Jackman at this year's show, she impressed everyone with her Broadway-ready vocals and moves.

Well, Anne is ready to reunite with her Oscar partner (Jackman, not Franco) as Deadline reports that the star has signed on as Fantine in an upcoming big screen adaptation of "Les Miserables," with Jackman appearing as Jean Valjean.

Johnny Knoxville

Arnold Schwarzenegger's fast and furious return to the big screen is currently getting underway. The former Governor of California has targeted director Kim Jee-Woon's "The Last Stand" as his first star vehicle since returning to acting, and he won't be alone — he'll have some very notable co-stars joining him for the ride.

Oscar winner Forest Whitaker and "Jackass" host Johnny Knoxville have boarded the cast of "Last Stand," an impressive roster of actors that already includes "Thor" star Jaimie Alexander, "300" villain Rodrigo Santoro and the inimitable Peter Stormare of "Fargo" fame. Also joining the cast is Harry Dean Stanton, perhaps most recently best known for playing the creepy Roman Grant on HBO's "Big Love," but forever in my heart for his ill-fated turn as Brett in Ridley Scott's "Alien."

Oscar IsaacThough Oscar Isaac might not have been one of the top-billed actors in Nicolas Winding Refn's critical hit "Drive," his performance as a man just out of prison trying to do right by his family definitely got the attention of a couple big name Hollywood directors.

Deadline is reporting that Isaac has landed the much-sought-after lead role in the Coen brothers' latest film, "Inside Llewyn Davis." The flick focuses on the early folk music scene in the 60s in Greenwich Village, and its lead characters are loosely based on the lives of Dave Van Ronk and Tom Paxton. Shooting is slated to start early next year in New York.

AvatarNobody is dead forever in James Cameron's sci-fi universe, so don't expect Sigourney Weaver to be sitting out of "Avatar 2."

"When you have a science-fiction series, a science-fiction franchise, you’re never dead, unless your DNA is expunged from the universe. And then there’s always time travel!" he explained in an interview with Vulture. "

But that's not his only explanation for how the late Doctor Grace Augustine might return to the "avatar" universe: "Have you ever heard of nonlinear storytelling? A lot happens on that planet before she shows up, and before Jake shows up to join her. She’s there for fifteen years ahead of time."

Johnny Depp"The Lone Ranger" isn't so lonely anymore.

After much deliberating and negotiating, Disney has finally decided to move forward with Johnny Depp and Gore Verbinski's remake of "The Lone Ranger." Though the movie now has a green light (again), it won't start filming until next year and thus likely won't be able to maintain its original December 21, 2012 release date. Deadline has the details.

Steve Jobs

Less than a week after Steve Jobs' death, word is out that Sony Pictures has completed a deal to bring to the big screen the upcoming authorized Jobs biography by Walter Issacson.

Book-to-movie biopics tend to make bank and have the potential to score critical prestige, as Sony knows well – after all, the studio made “The Social Network” and this fall’s “Moneyball,” both of which were impressive box office earners and critical darlings. There’s no doubt that given the wealth of momentous events and accomplishments in Steve Jobs’ life, a biographic movie promises to be amazing.

The question that immediately comes to mind, then, is: Who should play the Apple genius? After some deliberation, I’ve come up with a shortlist of five. I’m expecting that the movie will focus much more on the latter half of Jobs' life, chronicling his experiences at Apple, so no young’uns in our list here, only veterans that I think are OS X compatible!

Rose Leslie"Downton Abbey" star Rose Leslie likely knows something about the big role she just landed on "Game of Thrones."

Entertainment Weekly has the news that Leslie will play Ygritte, the love interest of Jon Snow in the second season of HBO's hit fantasy drama. Leslie certainly fits the description of Ygritte in the books, though it's hard to picture the wildling without the heavy clothing and cloaks she wears to keep herself warm north of The Wall. Ygritte is one of the last major players left to be cast this season.
