The 2009 MTV Video Music Awards means tons of celebrity interviews, but it's also a chance for the glitterati to meet their peers. What you didn't see on TV was Kanye West and Amber Rose hugging Lady Gaga, Lyor Cohen greeting Timbaland and -- in the video below -- the mega meeting of Swizz Beatz, Kid Cudi and Fonzworth Bentley. The three talk about Jay-Z, Bentley's shoes and fashion. Bentley had a great time ribbing -- literally ribbing -- Jack Black and his choice of outfits.

Mike Epps is no hater whatsoever. His film “Next Day Air” opened on Friday against the box office favorite “Star Trek.” Still, Epps didn’t see it as competition. The hilarious actor sees it as enough money for everyone to make in Hollywood. Epps, like a lot of us out there, is a huge fan and told us days ago that he was anticipating the latest take on the sci-fi blockbuster.

“I’m looking forward to seeing 'Star Trek,'" Epps said sitting in one of the New York’s hottest eateries -- Phillippe’s Express -- in lower Manhattan. “I wanna see how tight they got the shirt on Mr. Spock this time. Mr. Spock got a tight Izod on! I’m looking forward to seeing that ‘Star Trek.’" Read more...

G.I. Joe, I don't know. Out of all the Super Bowl commercials, I was most interested in seeing the "G.I. Joe.: The Rise of Cobra" teaser. Growing up, I was a tremendous, tremendous fan of Joe. I had all the toys and all the episodes on VHS. "Knowing is half the battle." I'm still not sure if the "Joe" movie will live up to the decades of anticipation.

The preview seemed a little cartoonish. There's a great shot of Snake Eyes (everybody's favorite character) jumping over a tumbling car. However, I'm not convinced yet if "G.I. Joe" will be too kiddie for me to fully enjoy.

Take me back. Take me back to the '80s, when G.I. Joe was the baddest cartoon franchise of its day. "Thundercats," "Transformers," "He-Man" -- none of them could hang with the Joes and their myriad of characters (shout-out to Zartan and the evil twin brothers!). Or the story lines (Joes had a weather dominator, for goodness sakes!).

Ah, man!!!!!! The "Transformers" sequel teaser looked excellent. I must admit, I was sleeping a little bit. Other films, such as "X-Men Origins: Wolverine," "G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra" and even "Star Trek," were a little higher on my radar. Not sure why. But the "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" ad during the Super Bowl inserts it right back into my top-two most-anticipated summer films. The one shot that shows the monster robot changing into the sleek sports car was amazing.

Op Prime needs to catch more wreck, though. He looks a little soft. Besides "Wolvie," I think "Transformers Part Deux" will be the action vehicle to rip the fans out of their seats in the warm-weather months. The game is a little weak, BTW.

FROM NEWSROOM: It was all a dream ... come true.

The trailer for the Christopher "Biggie" Wallace biopic "Notorious" surfaced on the Net today. If MTV News hadn't done a set visit several months back, if Derrick "D-Dot" Angeletti and Diddy hadn't given me a personal co-sign of the film, and if the movie weren't being spearheaded in part by Big's managers Wayne Barrow and Mark Pitts, I might have been very nervous about pressing the play button today.

Read the rest of the report about the "Notorious" trailer in the Newsroom blog.

Chamillionaire is on the way to save the day! The Texas MC is putting out the fourth installment of his acclaimed Mixtape Messiah series on August 27.

The first taste he's giving us of his latest studio sessions is a freestyle over Nas' "Hero" record. However, judging from the emailed jpeg we received from his camp this morning, Cham is all about a certain SUPER Hero.

Are you surprised by the buzz "The Dark Knight" is getting? So much that the movie posters have become iconic even before the film's release?? Chime in below!

The Incredible HulkThere are some things you just have to see for yourself whether expectations are great or meager when it comes to movies. Especially summer movies. Last year, when it was announced that 2008 would be the summer of Superheroes; Batman, Iron Man, the Hulk, Hancock and even Indiana Jones (hey, if surviving the Temple of Doom and beating down the Nazis isn't super, what is?). I was underwhelmed.

Batman in the "The Dark Knight" of course. I wouldn't have to see one trailer, just give me a release date and I was there. The others? Uh. Why are they doing it to themselves? I thought that in no way would any other hero film be able to compete with Bats at the box office or even in the quality of the product. So much for that. "Iron Man" and "Indiana Jones" both are mega hits despite mixed reviews for one of them (hint: the one I'm referring to wears a hat and rhymes with Shindianna's Bones). The other night, I caught a early screening of "The Incredible Hulk". I won't spoil it for you right now, but below, I'll give you a brief breakdown of my experiences of my recent run-ins the guys who save the day. Read more...

Just because the show was over, that didn't mean the stars were going home. The proverbial after-parties took center stage in Hollywood last night, post-MTV Movie Awards. We hit the clubs and report back with our exclusive observations.

A couple of the "Fantastic Four" cast -- we'll call them the Terrific Two -- Chris Evans and Ioan Gruffudd partied at the official MTV function held at Universal Studios. Porno King Ron Jeremy and "Hairspray" star Amanda Bynes were also in attendance. Over at Sugar, they sure were shady at the door to Rihanna's party. The doormen irritated Jay-Z when he was trying to make his entrance and even made that sexy Nicole from the Pussycat Dolls wait several minutes to enter.

Inside, the woman of the night -- Rihanna -- shunned the VIP section in favor of showing off her drop-dead, any-guy-would-want-to-marry-me-now-knockout red dress. On the dance floor, she danced to her own music, Sean Paul and Beyonce. Meanwhile, another cutie was in the building: "Entourage" member Lauren London. Funnyman Chris Tucker cooled out with Giant Magazine Editor-in-Chief Smokey Fontaine (Giant sponsored the party in celebration of Rihanna being their current covergirl) and another jokester, Guy Torre, was seen shaking hands and rubbing shoulders as well.

In the green room, Nelly's "Hot In Herre" is playing while Robin Williams — wearing a kilt — yells out "Pole dance!" Thankfully, he didn't do one. Later, he and Bruce Willis are posing for pictures — Williams says (in a thick Scottish accent) "Last year we went to see 'The Queen' but the only person who came out was Helen Mirren." ...

Jack Nicholson is the man. He talks to Cameron Diaz for several minutes before they're joined by Adam Sandler and then Williams — and then Michael Chiklis. Nicholson tells him he didn't want to overdress for the night and appreciated that Chiklis wore a T-shirt.

MTV News Hip-Hop Editor Shaheem Reid is on location at the MTV Movie Awards, prepping for the big show. Here he details his geek-out encounter with some of the actual vehicles from Michael Bay's upcoming summer blockbuster, "Transformers," which currently sit on our red carpet.

You know it's a pretty big deal when the "protectors" of Earth have security guards making sure nobody touches them. Their movie doesn't come out until July 3rd, but the Transformers have been getting the Hollywood treatment all week...and deservedly so. They are legends. If you're 25 or older -- especially a male 25 or older -- chances are the Transformers were an intimate part of your life in the '80s. Either you loved them or your kids loved them.

I remember every day after elementary school, there were some shows that you could just not miss: "G.I. Joe," "He-Man," "Thundercats," "Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers" (I'm so ashamed of that one), "DuckTales" (ok, two guilty pleasures in a row), and of course "Transformers." Robots in disguise!!!! So you know how geeked I was when I heard that Michael Bay was bringing one of my all-time favorite cartoons to the big screen. I was even more jazzed (pun intended) to learn that I would be covering this year's MTV Movie Awards, and part of my assignment would be to write about some of the Autobot cars from "Transformers" that would be on display at the big show. What's next? Lunch with Mer-Man and Evil-Lyn at Castle Grayskull? Read more...
