BeyonceThursday night, on a flight from Los Angeles to New York, I settled into my emergency-exit-row seat next to a woman with ginger-colored hair who looked familiar but I couldn't quite place. We talked casually during the flight — I taught her about Google video chat and she told me about her daughter, Caprice Crane, a writer and producer who is working on the new "90210." (I then launched into a rant of how obsessed I am with the original "Beverly Hills, 90210," which I immediately regretted — I can be a little fanatical about that show ...)

Anyway, I finally asked her what she did for a living. She told me that she now works with kids but that she used to be an actor. When I asked what I might have seen her in, she laughed and said that people knew her best from "Gilligan's Island." Ummm ... it took me until we were 36,000 feet over Iowa to realize that I was talking to TINA LOUISE, a.k.a. GINGER from "GILLIGANS ISLAND"!! I basically flipped out (silently), and then offered to share my car service with her back to New York after we landed (after the jump, Tina's reaction to rumors of Beyoncé snagging the movie role!). Friday at midnight, at theaters across the country Twilighters lined up in droves to finally catch the loooong-awaited opening "Twilight." Front and center was our own Twilighter Kim Stolz, who returns with this report.

It's 3:15 in the morning, and I've just returned to the office to reflect on seeing "Twilight" after a year of anticipation and approximately 2500 pages of the series. Knowing the characters to the extent that I do, I'm not sure what I was expecting. The concept of capturing the lives of Bella and Edward in a two-hour movie seemed like an overly ambitious task. Despite the respect I have for Catherine Hardwicke, Stephenie Meyer's attention to detail and the complex emotions clearly experienced by her characters was never going to be met by a film version of the story. With my "Twilight" obsession reaching new levels every day, you can only imagine my excitement to sit down with Stephenie Meyer, the author of the series, which now has an exponentially growing fan base. She wasn’t at liberty to talk about "Breaking Dawn" just yet (the fourth and final installment of the series, told from Bella’s perspective, comes out tomorrow), but I was able to talk to her about everything else, such as the pressure of her newfound rock star status, the influence that writers such as the Bronte sisters and Jane Austen had on her writing, and of course, the development of Bella and Edward.

Kim Stolz and Stephenie Meyer

Within the first few minutes of having a conversation with Stephenie, it is impossible not to be struck by her humble excitement for extraordinarily broad fan base paired with her passion and integrity as a writer. Read More...

Seven days in L.A., about 15 hits and one MTV Movie Awards preshow under my belt. I can say for certain that this was one of the most exciting weeks — and, of course, learning experiences — of my life.

The 21 minutes I spent on the gold carpet — finding celebs, pulling them aside from the ever-present paparazzi and fitting as much into 30-second or one-minute interviews as possible — were absolutely insane. My imagination fell short of the hectic, on-the-go, extremely exhilarating sensation that was my first live preshow. Two of the highlights of the night were certainly being thrown Will Smith, Charlize Theron, and Anne Hathaway at the same time, and interviewing beautiful and talented superstar Sarah Jessica Parker.

Kim StolzOn this Twilight Tuesday, I will become the latest MTV Newser to admit that I am absolutely, 100 percent, enthusiastically hooked on the "Twilight" series. A few months ago, I realized that I kept hearing the word "Twilight" around the office. So, I decided to find out where all of this buzz was coming from.

I had no idea what I was in for.

Cut to two weeks ago ... I am late for meeting because I'm sitting in the corner of the newsroom, reading the last few pages of "Twilight," the first (and hopefully most addictive, because otherwise I'm going to be late for a lot of meetings) installment in Stephanie Meyer's series. Cut to one week ago ... I'm even more hooked as I continue to read the rest of the books in the series. Read More...

Getting ready for the red carpet can be stressful! I'm sure we've all looked at tabloid magazines and Web Sites and taken part in making fun of a bad dress choice or fashion faux pas. So, when you're faced with the chance of being the object of one of these critiques, it can get a little scary. I unfortunately have once been on the worst-dressed list in People — I won't bore you with the details or a description of that fateful dress — the point is, however, that I want to make sure that I choose the right look for this exciting night.

We've gone through dress after dress after dress, and I think we've finally narrowed it down to five. I'm a fan of all five — the diversity of cut, color, style, length, fabric, and shape make it quite hard to choose just one. So, now I leave it to you guys. Vote here on which one you like the most...and vote wisely, because whichever one you choose is the one that I'll wear on Sunday.

(See the dress photos and vote after the jump!) Read More...
