Call them "cult classics." "Guilty pleasures." "Comfort movies." We all have a mental rolodex of flicks that may not be terribly popular but, for one reason or another, they resonate in a very special way. Maybe you saw it at the right moment. Maybe you just see gold where everyone else sees feces. Whatever the case, these are the special favorites that you keep stashed away for sick days. Here are some of ours.
"Josie and the Pussycats" is one smart teen flick. It's funny and hip and sherbet-colored and all at the same time finds a way to mock the music industry. Plus, it has Parker Posey in it— which by many accounts tends to be a winning casting decision. Read More...
FROM MTV.COM According to the Internet, Zac Efron will have a role in the upcoming "The Hangover 2." However, according to the film's star, Justin Bartha, you shouldn't believe everything the Internet tells you — after all, if you did, you'd also be under the impression that Robert Pattinson might be joining Efron in the sequel to last year's hit comedy.
"Other people have said that, and we were at the Critics' Choice Awards the other day and I'll quote [director] Todd Phillips when someone else asked [if Zac Efron is in the film] — he said, 'IMDB is not the Wall Street Journal. It is run by a 15-year-old boy in Tampa. So be careful what you read,' "Bartha told MTV News on the Golden Globes red carpet on Sunday.

Great minds think alike? Call it a case of parallel thought, but it turns out that James Cameron and Lady Gaga both have a fondness for blue people. While the director made the central characters in his latest blockbuster the hue, the singer/ performance artist wanted to paint herself the color for a future live performance. Unfortunately, with "Avatar" fever sweeping the world, Gaga has had to abandon the idea; it seems Cameron beat her to the punch.
Gaga, wearing a spiky-hair headband and a white one-shoulder onesie, appeared on the same episode of "The Oprah Winfrey Show" as "Avatar" director James Cameron and revealed that she had always wanted to paint herself blue. "It's actually funny about James Cameron, 'cause I've been talking about how I want to paint myself blue for a performance for the longest time," she explained. "I've been preparing to do it and then 'Avatar' came out."
I suppose the minds behind the Haus of Gaga decided that Lady Gaga nearly setting herself on fire or allowing herself to bleed to death onstage will have to suffice until they decide on another color to paint the star. But it's interesting to hear that long before the world caught a case of the "Avatar" blues, Gaga — being the forward-thinker that she is — already had the color on her mind.
FROM MTV.COM: The Golden Globes are only a few days away and while you can expect to see quite a few familiar faces — vets like George Clooney, James Cameron, Steve Carell and Emily Blunt — there will also be a number of newbies hitting the red carpet this year.
Lea Michele graced TV screens in 2009 in the breakout musical-comedy series "Glee," quickly going from unknown to well-known. The acting and singing chops she shows every week playing Rachel Berry have earned her a Best Actress in a Television Series, Comedy or Musical nomination.

FROM HOLLYWOOD CRUSH: MTV News adores the movie "Mannequin." So much so, that we actually spent one recent Friday afternoon watching the trailer and old interviews from the now-classic 1987 flick, which is about a struggling artist, who falls in love with a mannequin that he designed, only to find out she's actually from ancient Egypt. (Yes, that is really the storyline, so if you haven't seen it yet, we bet you totally want to now!) What happens next? Hijinks!
Anyway, it seems that our nostalgia for the movie has somehow spread to Hollywood — Videogum is reporting that plans are now in the works to remake the film. There are very little details about how the great minds of Tinseltown intend to make this project happen, but as soon as we heard thew news, our minds started racing about who might make the perfect next-generation Jonathan (originally played by Andrew McCarthy) and mannequin a.k.a. Emmy (originally played by Kim Cattrall).

FROM MTV.COM: An early version of the "Twilight Saga: Eclipse" screenplay that belonged to star Jackson Rathbone leaked online on Tuesday. Sources reportedly confirmed to both Deadline Hollywood and EW.com that the PDF file making the rounds on the Internet is real, but it was not the version used to film the third movie in the vampire saga.
Summit has not provided any further information about the leak, how the script was lost in the first place or how anyone got their hands on the script, which is watermarked with Rathbone's name across each page. A rep for Rathbone hadn't gotten back to MTV News at press time regarding any further information about the found script.

FROM MTV.COM: After news spread that Summit Entertainment was holding "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse" test screenings over the weekend, testimonials began to appear online from fans who had the chance to see the flick. The only problem? There was no test screening, so the testimonials were anything but accurate.
A source close to the "Eclipse" production told GossipCop.com that rumors of the screening are "absolutely not true." Also, any testimonials being published online on sites like Alex's Memories are equally untrue. The source said specifics around any trailers and screenings for the flick have yet to be announced.
"There is absolutely no merit to this claim," a Summit Entertainment rep confirmed to MTV News about reports of the screenings. "We noticed it over the holiday on multiple message boards and sites, and it appears that some of this was spam."

FROM MTV.COM: While fans eagerly await the June release of "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse," one of the film's stars, Kirsten Prout, is opening up about joining the cast for the third film in the franchise. She plays Lucy in the film, the vampire who turns Jasper (Jackson Rathbone) into a vampire. And she says she enjoyed getting to embrace her inner bad girl for the film.
"I've always been on the good side. I've never played a villain in my entire career. I'm the girl next door, or the girl who helps out, or the girl that makes an innocent escape. For once, I got to look all innocent and have that angelic quality, and then, all of a sudden, turn into something really dark," Prout, who starred on the TV series "Kyle XY," told Iesb.net. "That was fun for me. That was the first villain that I've ever played."
