Christian BaleThis may be the sternest film that goes into production this year -- but given the names involved, it will probably be one of the best. Variety is reporting that Christian Bale has joined Mark Wahlberg for "The Fighter," and that David O. Russell may be along to direct the grim, tense ride.

"The Fighter" is the true life tale of Boston fighter "Irish" Mickey Ward (played by Wahlberg), who was coached to the world lightweight championship by his half-brother, Dicky Eklund (played by Bale). After suffering a number of defeats, Ward was ready to retire until pushed back into the ring by his brother. Read More...

Cam GigandetThere's only one thing Twilighters love more than "New Moon" updates, and that's hearing what your favorite "Twilight" actors are up to outside of the vampire franchise -- especially if they won't be returning to Forks, Washington any time soon. Fresh off "The Unborn," Gigandet has signed to costar with "Gossip Girls" Leighton Meester in "The Roommate."

Meester will play Sara, a college who is randomly assigned to a freshman dorm, and stuck with a roommate named Rebecca. Sean 'P Diddy' CombsRussell Brand's Aldous Snow will have a lot of help to "Get Him to the Greek," but it isn't Emily Blunt. Assisting the crazy-coiffed rocker instead will be Sean "P.Diddy" Combs, Rose Byrne ("Knowing"), and Elizabeth Moss ("Mad Men").

The "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" spin-off focuses on Brand's sex addicted rocker, Aldous Snow, who had left Marshall and Hawaii behind for newer, greener pastures. Snow falls off the wagon, gets hooked on cocaine and heroin, and is due in L.A. for a big comeback concert. 50 CentEvery Joel Schumacher film starts as an uphill battle just by virtue of its director's shaky record -- but he'll have some help on this one from a very diverse cast, and a well-reviewed novel. According to Variety, Schumacher will be directing an adaptation of Nick McDonell's debut novel "Twelve," starring Kiefer Sutherland, Chace Crawford, Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson, Emma Roberts, and Ellen Barkin.

"Twelve" centers on a high school drop out named White Mike (who we're guessing is played by Crawford) who deals pot and an Ecstasy-like upper called "twelve" to Manhattan's young and rich. Mike avoids touching the stuff, preferring instead to observe the privileged individuals who buy it. But his easy profits go sour when his dealer's cousin is brutally murdered and his best friend is arrested for the crime. The story takes place over a dizzying and decadent five days, and ends as badly as all drug themed stories do.
