James BrownJames Brown is the lone Godfather of Soul, and even if he looks a lot like Wesley Snipes in Spike Lee's upcoming biopic, Lee wants to make sure there's one recognizable voice coming through the microphone when the legendary figure appears on-screen.

"We're doing it together – it's going to happen," Lee told MTV News in an exclusive interview at the Sundance Film Festival this week. The Oscar nominated director of "Do the Right Thing" and "Inside Man" lavished praise on Snipes. "He’s my man," Lee said; but when it comes to the vocals on Brown's classic tracks like "I Got You (I Feel Good)" and "Get Up Offa That Thing," expect to hear the authentic voice of James Brown being dubbed in. Emma StoneIf zombie comedy and Woody Harrelson weren't enough to get your attention for the upcoming film "Zombieland," superhot "Superbad" actress Emma Stone looks ready to jump into the cast as well. Stone is in final negotiations to join Harrelson and co-star Jesse Eisenberg in the Southwest-based screenplay to be directed by Ruben Fleischer, according to Variety.

Reportedly centering around a mismatched couple caught up in a zombie apocalypse, the story sounds like a fine fit for Stone, who's got a tough-as-nails demeanor on-screen. The girl certainly stole a few hearts as Jonah Hill's elusive crush Jules back in "Superbad." Read More...

Terry Gilliam'Terry Gilliam hasn't been able to catch an easy break in the last decade, but the mad scientist filmmaker behind "Brazil" and former Monty Python star apparently cannot be stopped. First, his budget ran off a cliff alongside injury and natural disaster in 2000 with his epic re-imagining of Don Quixote, forcing the film's production to a halt. Then, with scenes still left to be filmed in his Heath Ledger and Verne Troyer vehicle "The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus" the leading actor's death threatened to kill a second Gilliam film in a row.

Now, after saving "Doctor Parnassus," Gilliam is officially returning to finish "The Man Who Killed Don Quixote," and he sounds even more determined than ever.

“Tony [Grisoni] and I have started rewriting 'Don Quixote' just this last week," Gilliam told Empire. "I re-read the greatest script ever written and realize we gotta get rewriting! I really wanna knock that one out in the next month or so.” Read More...

Sam RockwellFROM SPLASH PAGE: Earlier this month, we brought you word that Sam Rockwell and Mickey Rourke were in talks to appear in "Iron Man 2" -- possibly as the pair of villains Justin Hammer and the Crimson Dynamo. Now, Rockwell is ready to talk about his confirmed turn toward super-villainy and expressed excitement in an exclusive interview with MTV News.

According to Rockwell, "Iron Man" director Jon Favreau originally considered casting him for the role of Tony Stark in the first film, but he's now on board to appear as Justin Hammer, a staunch corporate rival for Stark, in “Iron Man 2.”

"We had a phone conversation about it, and then I didn’t hear anything and that was it," Rockwell told MTV of early conversations regarding the part that eventually went to Robert Downey Jr. One blockbuster film later, the phone conversation was accompanied by an offer to play Hammer, and Rockwell accepted.

Sam RockwellRemember when Sam Rockwell told MTV News about his new movie “Moon” way back last February? And his basketball film “The Winning Season” back in August? A year later, he’s ready to break both out at Sundance, and he’s not stopping there. A Sundance veteran, Rockwell is bringing two films to the Utah film festival this year—and much, much more.

“A lot of condoms. Chaps. A thong. Cowboy hat. I'm ready to go!” the “Choke” and upcoming “Iron Man 2” actor said in an exclusive interview with MTV News. If anyone has been to Sundance enough times to know what the standards are, it’s Rockwell.

“This is either five or six for me,” he estimated. “I've lost track. I'm in New York, going there Friday night. Going there for a week.” Read More...

Danny BoyleSlumdog Millionaire” director Danny Boyle may not like superhero movies, but that hasn’t stopped his production company DNA Films from picking up the rights to a new “Judge Dredd” installment. Asked about his personal involvement, the Academy Award buzz-maker played it coy.

“Someone asked me about Judge Dredd the other day!” Boyle told Empire. “I hated the last version of it; I can't imagine the next one will be any better.”

Those strong words don’t bode well for rumors that Boyle could be in line to direct DNA’s new film, which has already seen "Judge Dredd" concept art from comics artist Jock hitting the 'Net. Read More...

Terminator SalvationCast your expectations aside for the score to May’s “Terminator Salvation.” Danny Elfman has confirmed exclusively for MTV News that he will be composing the music for McG’s new post-nuclear-holocaust Terminator installment of the blockbuster franchise.

“I just started yesterday,” Elfman told MTV News from the red carpet of the Critics’ Choice Awards. The Academy Award nominated composer from films like “Good Will Hunting,” “The Corpse Bride” and “Batman” indicated that the original “Terminator” theme by composer Brad Fiedel was not in use yet; nor is there mandate to incorporate the classic symphonic hook. He did, however, leave the door open for its appearance. Read More...
