News that "Poltergeist" actress Zelda Rubinstein has been taken off of life support didn't go unnoticed by horror movie fans in the Twitter-Wood community this week. The sad revelation caught the attention of both Richard Kelly and Jeff Katz (on his birthday, nonetheless), and I definitely echo those sentiments to her family.

In other posts, attempted underwear bomb from last week is still a trending topic among tweeters. Kevin Nealon was among those contemplating the ongoing investigation yesterday. Catch those thoughts after the jump along with Brian Lynch on Taylor Swift and Taylor Lautner, Christina Applegate and Emmy Rossum on James Cameron's work in "Avatar" and more in the Twitter-Wood report for December 30, 2009. Christian Serratos was talking about going to Greece yesterday, but last night she was post pictures from her trip to the White House, where she visited a cardboard Christmas tree.

In other tweets, Mindy Kaling saw "Avatar," and she and fellow "Office" cast member Rainn Wilson ran a hypothetical question about how Dwight would react to Na'vi. Click on past the jump to see what they predicted along with what Adam Duritz gave Emmy Rossum for Christmas, whose Wii workout game Diablo Cody has been using and what Neil Gaiman security pat-down he had to endure. It's all in the Twitter-Wood report for December 29, 2009.

Somewhere in Hollywood there's a lonely Kindle lying in the middle of a street, and it belongs to Paul Feig. He requested that anyone finding it let him know via Twitter today, where posting was a bit slow due to many of the movie industry's tweeters being on vacation. There were still plenty of shout-outs both good and bad about "Avatar" and "Sherlock Holmes," though, the latter of which was so packed that even Nicky Hilton couldn't get in.

There needs to be a special award for Dave Coulier today, who linked to a re-lyric'd performance of a Taylor Swift song dedicated to Uncle Jesse from "Full House" -- and anyone who follows Twitter-Wood knows that I can't resist retweeting a good "Full House" post. Check it out after the jump along with Kevin Smith's outlook on "Iron Man 2" and Brian Lynch's evaluation of his Wikipedia profile.

Jeff Bridges' performance in "Crazy Heart" was good enough for the Golden Globes, and it was good enough for Rob Zombie as well, judging by his tweets. Kevin Smith, meanwhile, had a positively-used expletive to describe his own experience watching Edgar Wright's unreleased "Scott Pilgrim vs. The World."

Less giddy was producer Jeff Katz, who used a sports metaphor to express his reaction to news that Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins have split. I'll let you parse and interpret that one, as his references to Bobby Bowden and Joe Paterno went a little over my head. You can do so after the jump where you will also learn about Ice-T's recent "Modern Warfare 2" accomplishments, when Emmy Rossum will begin taking trapeze lessons and who found a stray peacock in their back yard. Brittany Murphy and "Avatar" look poised to dominated Twitter-Wood's thoughts this holiday week, even if most of the tweeters are leaving their offices to tweet from home and last-minute shopping expeditions right now. Alyssa Milano retweeted a photo taken when she and Murphy appeared on a USO tour together, reflecting on the time they spent there. Meanwhile, Elizabeth Banks, Samm Levine and David Spade all had different reactions to "Avatar" in 3D.

You can sort out what they had to say after the jump along with a former "Saved By the Bell" star's denial of drunken behavior, Kevin Smith's response to a tweeter about his wife's Playboy photos and former Karate Kid Ralph Macchio on whether or not he plans on coming back to "Ugly Betty." This has been a bad holiday season for untimely deaths around Hollywood, and none have been more unexpected than actress Brittany Murphy's on Sunday. Alyssa Milano, Peter Facinelli, Paris Hilton and virtually everyone else with a Twitter account associated with the entertainment industry has something to say about Murphy, and there's a rundown below.

The other big nationwide news of the past weekend has been the massive snowstorm pounding the East Coast. "Twilight" actress Christian Serratos was one of those who had her travel plans derailed by the frozen precipitation dump, on Washington, D.C. You can find those posts after jump along with Fred Durst's "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2" clan name and Neil Gaiman's undead lawn ornament. It's in the Twitter-Wood report for December 21, 2009. This was a rough week for memorial tweets, with Tisha Taylor Murphy and Roy Disney's passings both making headlines. More condolences showed up today for "Alien" screenwriter Dan O'Bannon and Bengals wide received Chris Henry, who both had their share of fans in our feed.

Following up on Jason Reitman's Olympic Torch tweets from the week, posted a much better photo today and got some moral support from Roger Ebert. You can check that out below, along with a shot of "New Moon" actor Alex Meraz's new t-shirt, two actresses who are not ashamed of their Wiis. Jason Reitman wasn't bluffing yesterday when he said he would be carrying the Olympic Torch through Toronto, and he's got a picture up to prove it today. Roy Disney's death today was big news in Twitter-Wood, where a lot of folks have been affected by his work and commitment to animation over the course of their careers. It's certainly appropriate that "Toy Story 3" director Lee Unkrich was among the first to post his condolences.

And speaking of animation, Danny DeVito made it onto the guest list for the "Avatar" premiere tonight, and took a picture of his excitable foot to prove it. His "Twins" co-star Arnold Schwarzenegger posted

FROM SPLASH PAGE: Tony Stark has donned plenty of armors that would be better left out of "Iron Man 2" and any subsequent Marvel films in favor of giving his classic look (and War Machine) a bigger spotlight.

War Machine, however, is just one of Tony Stark's technical masterpieces that have appeared over the course of Iron Man's half century in comics. Here are five others that would shake up theaters in an Iron Man film.

HULKBUSTER ARMOR
If Robert Downey Jr. ever confronts Edward Norton on-screen in a Marvel film, expect there to be a long pause with some loud metallic stomping noises before the camera pans up to reveal the most intimidating armor set Tony's ever put on. Last used by Stark to confront the Hulk during his post-"World War Hulk" rage, he tricked it out with adamantium needles capable of injecting the big green guy with nanites. It's the only protective suit that comes close to offering an edge in a fist fight with angry Bruce Banner.
