Looking for a sequel to the hit summer comedy "Superbad"? Don’t expect to get one anytime soon. The genius producer behind the film, Judd Apatow, revealed as much when he sat down to talk shop with his fans on Funny or Die yesterday. While "Pineapple Express 2" looks like it may hit theaters at some point in the foreseeable future, "Superbad" won’t be getting a sequel.

(Editor's note: I would have embedded the video here, but Judd Apatow is a profane man and the words he uses are too much for members of our reading audience. I welcome you to track it down on the great ship Internets.) Read more...

"Kick-Ass" actress Chloe Moretz was among those tweeting good thoughts to Nicolas Cage and his family following the death of his father August Coppola this week. A literature professor and the brother of director Francis Ford Coppola, he reportedly died following a heart attack on Tuesday.

In other tweets, David Slade slipped a fresh image into his Twitter feed of actor Xavier Samuel from "Eclipse," which he says is the first look at Samuel's character Riley in the film. A couple of "Twilight" actors tweeted last minute contemplations over their Halloween costumes, while Edgar Wright may be giving up altogether and Russell Brand decried jack-o-lanterns as symbols for the season. Check out what they all had to say after the jump. It's in the Twitter-Wood report for October 30, 2009. Read more...

So it would seem the poor economy hasn't quite hit our friends at Universal Pictures. Exhibit A: I'm in Bora Bora. That's right, a few hours ago I finished a long trek that began in New York, took me to LA, then to Papeete via Air Tahiti (duh), on a connecting flight to Bora Bora, and finally a little boat ride to our absurdly idyllic backdrop for the junket that's about to get underway.

What movie is Universal shelling out this kind of cash for? Why "Couples Retreat" of course! Take a little "Forgetting Sarah Marshall," throw a dash of Vince Vaughn and Jon Favreau and what do ya know?!? So for the next few days intrepid MTV News producer Vanessa White Wolf and I will be here in a world an awfully long way from our Times Square home to soak up the sights and sounds and have a little fun chatting with the stars in some stupendously cool environs. Oh, and we'll make our co-workers in New York hate us as they never have before. (Editor's note: Already there, Josh. Already there.) Read more...

Editor's note: Mr. Warmoth wrote this up yesterday, but tech issues prevented me from running it. So please enjoy this post-Labor Day Twitter-Wood morning edition.

Happy Labor Day, everyone. Posts in the Twitter-Wood feed certainly didn't rest for the holiday -- particularly those of Kevin Smith, who is currently engaged in a 24-hour tweet-a-thon of questions and answers with his followers. I've included a few highlights but highly recommend throwing your own queries at him before he logs off.

In other news, the feed found a new feed this weekend! We proudly welcome the yet-to-become-Verfied account of Danny DeVito, whose profile pic alone has earned him a top slot on the list and Twitter Pic of the Day laurels. You can check it out in the link below alongside Smith's answers and Labor Day activities involving Peter Facinelli, Russell Brand and Neil Gaiman. I'm @brianwarmoth, and this is a special Labor Day Twitter-Wood report for September 7, 2009. Read more...

As you may recall from yesterday's Twitter-Wood, John Stamos called upon one of his Twitter fans to post a photo of his alleged Uncle Jesse-based tattoo. Well today that tweeter responded in kind, and the wrist tattoos are linked to at the top of the report for all to see now.

In other tweets, Robert Rodriguez gleefully celebrated his confirmed actors for "Machete," calling out Jessica Alba and Robert De Niro. As it turns out, the director has his own Twitter fan in Dane Cook, who's read the script. Kristen Bell, meanwhile, claims to have been reading "hacked" tweets coming out of her account. In what may be a related event, Dax Shepard called out a poser using the fake name @IMkristenBeII (note how two upper case i's can resemble two lowercase L's), who tried to break up with him. You can check out all that drama and more below. I'm @brianwarmoth, and this is the Twitter-Wood report for August 27, 2009. Read more...

John StamosTom Felton sounds like he'll be lightening up his mood a bit for his next non-"Harry Potter" project. The normally moody-on-screen actor who plays Draco Malfoy will be jumping into Jonah Hill's "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" sequel "Get Him to the Greek" alongside Hill and Russell Brand, according to his Twitter updates.

Elsewhere in our feed, the Twitter-Wood report joins John Stamos' former "Full House" cast members Bob Saget and Dave Coulier in wishing the well-groomed actor a happy birthday. The "ER" star's own bday post snagged today's Twitter Pic of the Day, which I've inserted below via Saget's re-tweet and well-wishing. If you ever wanted to see how great Stamos' hair looked early on in life, now is your chance. Check it out, along with Richard Kelly's computer problems, an explosion from F. Gary Gray's new film and more. It's all in the Twitter-Wood Report for August 19, 2009. Read more...

Jonah HillFilthy-mouthed Jonah Hill might want to feast on a bar of soap or two if he plans on wooing the lady folk -- which is apparently next on his cinematic to-do list.

According to Variety, the "Get Him To The Greek" and "Superbad" star is producing and starring in "The Best Thing About Pam Rooney," a romantic comedy to be written and executive produced by Andrew Jay Cohen and Brendan O'Brien. Plot details remain under wraps, though the film is described as a "high-concept romantic comedy." Read more...

Miley CyrusIt may come to you as no surprise that Kristen Bell is a huge George Carlin fan. But did you know that she once co-composed a musical based on his comedy? The Twitter-Wood feed picked up a few details about her un-produced masterpiece today, and I have to say, someone should get that on stage -- soon!

Other Twitter-Wood revelations included Rose McGowan's willingness to appear on "Mad Men" -- yet another move I would support! Several other tweets may be slightly less shocking -- for instance, that Tom Felton's hair-dying adventures have resumed, or that Kevin Nealon makes jokes about Kim Jong Il. You'll understand when you read today's Twitter-Wood report below. But first, for those of us out there without ready access to a beach, here's Miley Cyrus laughing in our faces in the Twitter Pic of the Day. Read more...

Judd Apatowby Judd Apatow

As arguably the biggest comedy director working in Hollywood today, Judd Apatow is a funny guy and almost as importantly, he’s been a longtime friend to the MTV Movies Blog, acting as one of our first guest contributors way back when “Knocked Up” was coming out. Well, the big guy is back. Apatow’s next project, of course, is “Funny People.” And lucky for us Judd’s re-joining the MTV Movies Blog gang with a series of exclusive columns hitting every single Thursday between now and the film’s release. So without further ado, here’s Judd…

I am on a plane right now on my way to New York to watch Leslie [Mann] do a spot on Late Show with David Letterman. Sitting right behind me is one of the Jonas Brothers. I am not sure which one. To me they are a three headed creature—the Jonas. To my right behind me is the great comedian Kevin Nealon and all the way to my right is the great songwriter ("Rainbow Connection," "We’ve Only Just Begun"), singer and sometimes actor, Paul Williams ("Smokey and the Bandit"). On the flight the movie is "17 Again," which Leslie is in, so it is a strange flight indeed. Kevin Nealon keeps coughing when she comes on screen or throwing things at the tiny monitor the movie plays on. Leslie is mad that the Jonas brother is sleeping and not watching the movie. He sleeps cute as well. Read more...

Russell BrandUPDATE: Due to rain, fans should now show up for the chance to be a part of the film at 10am, not 3am!

Are you a fan of Russell Brand? Jonah Hill? Judd Apatow? Yeah, they're all pretty kickass. And I'm not just saying that because of Brand's special relationship with MTV Movies Editor Josh Horowitz.

Two of the three are going to be on-hand this weekend. In New York City. Take that San Diego Comic-Con goers! You guys can all enjoy your "District 9"s and your "Alice in Wonderland"s. We get a LIVE concert performance -- check that, a FREE LIVE concert performance -- from no less a personage than the legendary Aldous Snow. Suck it, 'Con-goers!!
