It comes as no surprise that supporting cast members in "New Moon" would try to splinter off their own factions in the endless "Team Edward vs. Team Jacob" debate, but it looks like BooBoo Stewart's got at least one backer for Team Seth, judging from his TwitPic upload today. Tinsel Korey, meanwhile, remains firmly behind Team Jacob.
In non-"Twilight" posting today, Danny DeVito had a nice showing for his birthday last night, even if his picture wasn't high enough quality to make Twitter Pic of the Day. Neil Patrick Harris posted a new shot from the "How I Met Your Mother Set" and David Wain contributed a courtside view from the Lakers game. Check out all of those after the jump where you'll also find out which actress enjoys dancing to Lady Gaga and which actor claims he's the only one who didn't audition for "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen." It's all in the Twitter-Wood report for November 18, 2009. Read more...
Doogie! Sorry, I won't do that again. It's hard though, to be someone who grew up in the '80s and '90s, not to think of Neil Patrick Harris as Doogie Howser, MD, the boy genius doctor. Such a simpler time. Harris has become so much more than that in recent years, and my hat's off to him for shedding his child actor image. I still can't erase those first memories of his time on TV.
In today's Daily TwitPic we see Harris hanging with the lovely Felicia Day, a gifted performer who is associated with one of his more recent successes. The two starred together in "Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog," a three-act comedic web series conceived by Joss Whedon and his brothers Zack and Jed. Enjoy the cute picture of would-be supervillain Dr. Horrible and his doomed love Penny, reunited. Read more...
Last night got busy in Twitter-Wood on a few fronts. Former "Remote Control" host Ken Ober's passing surprised a number of tweeters, including Brian Posehn and Jeff Katz, who both noted his loss.
L.A.'s Westwood village theatre, meanwhile, was epicenter for all of the "Twilight" Twitterverse during the "New Moon" premiere. BooBoo Stewart posted a pic from the red carpet, Rachelle Lefevre posted her reasons for missing the event, Brett Ratner was in attendance and Kevin Smith made a date out of the night with his daughter. You can check out what they had to say after the jump along with Twitter Pic pick that I selected more for its significance than its shock value, as Neil Patrick Harris officially moved into the Twitter-Wood neighborhood. It's all in the report for November 17, 2009. Read more...
Written by Zack Whedon (who co-wrote the "Dr. Horrible" musical with brothers Joss and Jed and Jed's wife, Maurissa Tancharoen), the one-shot "Dr. Horrible" comic tells the tale of Dr. Horrible and Captain Hammer's first encounter.
I spoke to Whedon about his plans for the project and received an exclusive preview for Splash Page readers.
The comedic duo of Alec Baldwin and Steve Martin have agreed to host the 82nd annual Academy Awards, an announcement that comes hot off the heels of denials from Hugh Jackman, Robert Downey Jr. and Ben Stiller. Martin, of course, hosted the show twice before, but this will be Baldwin's first time as the show's master of ceremonies. Read more...
Sometimes, when a project you desperately want to see flicker onto the big screen instead fails to get off the ground, it can be a bummer. And sometimes, really, it’s all for the best: like a fine wine or the adult careers of Jason Bateman and Neil Patrick Harris, these things can take time to develop.
Take Robert Rodriguez’s “Predators,” a resurrection of the alien invasion horror films that he first began writing about fifteen years ago. It was an ambitious script that he admits could never have been filmed at the time, and it went nowhere. Now the project is back in his hands, albeit as a producer, and Rodriguez is focused on what made the original, Arnold Schwarzenegger-led “Predator” such a classic.
He's a man who has many names: Doogie Howser... NPH... NPattz (patent pending). Neil Patrick Harris saw his career take a Tarantino-esque turn after a co-starring role in "Harold & Kumar Go To White Castle." The boy who was Doogie Howser had suddenly become a man, and a really freaking crazy man at that. The newfound fame is likely what led to his starring role on the hit TV series "How I Met Your Mother." By the time the "Harold & Kumar" sequel came up, there wasn't really a question about seeing Harris return; he is integral to the series now.
FROM SPLASH PAGE: When Joss Whedon first launched his online musical miniseries "Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog" last year, it was pretty obvious that the project was something special. Between the experimental method for delivering the series to fans, the low-budget production with high-profile stars, and the terribly addictive songs, there was no shortage of attention heaped on the project -- and for good reason. In short, it was one of the Internet highlights of 2008.
The "Dr. Horrible" DVD hits shelves tomorrow, and along with collecting the entire miniseries on one disc, the DVD also contains over 90 minutes of bonus material -- including an introduction to the "Evil League of Evil," the organization to which Dr. Horrible (Neil Patrick Harris) strives to prove his villainous worth. Here's an exclusive clip:
When last we saw our best buds Harold & Kumar, life was looking good. They had successfully escaped from Guantanamo Bay, reunited with the women they love, and were happily smoking and joking their way around Amsterdam. It seemed like a much more complete ending than in their first adventure - and you couldn't help but feel as if this generation's Cheech and Chong had made their last movie.
But then, "Harold & Kumar Escape From Guantanamo Bay" made even more money than the first film. Which keeps us wondering: Will we ever see the uptight Asian and underachieving Indian in a third adventure?
"Yeah, I don’t know," admitted Kal Penn when we spoke to him recently, insisting that White Castle is closed for the forseeable future. "We get calls from our friends, John Cho and I, going 'I read on the internet, blah blah blah.'"
He has the hottest viral clip on the Internet, more Hollywood stars at his disposal than Woody Allen, and some of his biggest laughs since he wrote the score for “South Park: Bigger Longer & Uncut.” So, why is the creator of the hilarious “Prop 8 – The Musical" fearing for his life?
“I’m scared,” laughed 5-time Oscar nominee Marc Shaiman, reflecting on his red-hot mini movie that uses Jack Black, John C. Reilly, Neil Patrick Harris and other notables to mine laughs from a controversial subject. “[1.3 million views in barely a day] feels good, until I read some of the angrier comments left by some very angry people. Then I think, well, maybe I shouldn’t leave the house. I’ll just stay on Funny or Die.” Read more...
