9 Moments When Sports Borrowed Inspiration From The Movies
Posted 2/6/13 9:46 am EST by MTV Movies Team in Commentary
FROM NEXT MOVIE
Sports in movies have never been a pillar of authenticity, often upping the dramatic elements of a game at the cost of realism. But sometimes, even the silliest of sports movies can act as inspiration for real-life athletes.
The folks over at Next Movie have compiled a list of nine great moments when sports reached out to movies and said "Hey, you're not that unrealistic after all."
The moments include such wonders as Tony Gonzalez pulling a Ron Burgundy during the line-up introductions, Thomas DeCoud playing the "Meow Game" live on SportsCenter, and the Oilers performing a textbook Gordon Bombay "Flying V."
Check out the full list over at Next Movie.
