There's no better way to celebrate a slow Friday than by checking out movie stills, especially when they're from some of 2012's most anticipated films. USA Today posted some excellent new shots from "The Hobbit," "Prometheus," and "The Bourne Legacy," all showing off main characters hanging out in their element. After the click, take a look at some of the action!
Here's Bilbo Baggins walking hesitantly through a forest, looking quite dapper and a tad unsure of his path. Remember, Bilbo's never been outside of the Shire, and unlike his nephew Frodo, he hasn't been tasked with any grand duty to save the world from evil and all -- he's just out for a stroll with his new dwarf friends. His fear of the world should be palpable.
Here's Noomi Rapace as Elizabeth Shaw, one of the space travelers in "Prometheus." There's not much to go on, except that her jumpsuit looks totally cool. A few months ago, Rapace said her character "learned to believe in God, and she has a strong inner self." An inner self that'll be put to the test when she comes face to face with the origin of humanity, we're guessing.
Even more inscrutable is this shot of Jeremy Renner as Aaron Cross, your newest super spy badass in the "Bourne" series. Much like predecessor Matt Damon, he's got that whole "looking serious while wearing black" thing down. Details on "Bourne Legacy" are still vague, but it's said that Cross will be dealing with the repercussions of Jason Bourne's actions after the last film. After supporting roles in "Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol" and "The Avengers," a starring part in an action flick is a long time coming for Renner.
