Denzel Washington Replaces Russell Crowe As 'The Equalizer'
Denzel Washington is now connected to the big screen adaptation of "The Equalizer," a TV show from the '80s about a retired secret agent who has a crisis of conscience and decides to work for a better cause. /Film reported that a press release from Sony updated the project's status, which until now had been pitched as a collaboration between Paul Haggis and Russell Crowe with the Aussie actor starring.
Chris Pratt Could Star In Kathryn Bigelow's Bin Laden Film
In what is by far the most surprising casting news of the week, Twitch reported that Chris Pratt, the lovely Andy Dywer from "Parks and Recreation," is now in talks to star in Kathyrn Bigelow's untitled Osama Bin Laden drama, known casually as "Kill Bin Laden." "Warrior" star Joel Edgerton had been long connected to the project but dropped out due to scheduling conflicts.
George Clooney Joins Proposition 8 Play for One Night Only
As part of the benefit for the American Foundation for Equal Rights, George Clooney will participate in a one-night production of "8," a play written by "J. Edgar" screenwriter Dustin Lance Black about the historic overturning of Proposition 8, the law prohibiting gay and lesbian marriages in California.
'Hanna' Star Saoirse Ronan to Learn 'How I Live Now'
Saoirse Ronan will star in the upcoming adaptation of the book by Meg Rosoff, "How I Live Now." The story follows two girls as they struggle to survive in the woods at the outset of World War II.
