Director Alex Proyas is undertaking a pretty gargantuan feat in his attempt to adapt John Milton's epic poem "Paradise Lost" for the big screen. In fact, it's so gargantuan that even its stars can't wrap their mind about what it's going to look like.

The project has gathered an impressive cast to play some of the most famous Biblical characters of all time. Bradley Cooper will play Lucifer, Camilla Belle and Diego Boneta will play Eve and Adam, and Casey Affleck will play the archangel Gabriel. It will be interesting to see how Proyas manages to bring the classic to the big screen using modern inventions like CGI. We're assuming that the angels in this film will look a bit more impressive than the one's in Kevin Smith's "Dogma," for instance. (No disrespect intended, Matt and Ben!)

So what exactly will "Paradise Lost" look like? When MTV caught up with Casey Affleck while he was promoting "Tower Heist," he admitted that he has no idea.

G.I. Joe

If "G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra" left you cold, its sequel — "Retaliation" — should warm you right up. The Rock is on board as Roadblock, leading an all-star cast that includes Bruce Willis as the original Joe, Ray Stevenson as bad guy Firefly, RZA as the Blind Master and returning "Joe" veterans Channing Tatum as Duke and Ray Park as Snake-Eyes. It's a strong cast and a great assortment of classic "Joe" characters that has at least this fan very, very stoked.

We haven't seen much from the film yet, but a new "G.I. Joe: Retaliation" sneak peek courtesy of Entertainment Tonight is shining some light on the subject. Read what ET found out on the set of the "Joe" sequel beyond the jump.

It's hard to argue that one of the most badass breakout characters in "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2" is Professor Minerva McGonagall. And author J.K. Rowling fought to keep it that way.

Fans who have seen the movie (and read the book) know that there's a pretty big showdown between McGonagall and Professor Snape about halfway through the story. According to Rowling, an early draft of Steve Kloves' script had Harry Potter facing off against Snape instead of McGonagall. That was not something she was going to allow to happen.

"I don't like the marginalization of women when the fighting breaks out. We get to fight too. I really wanted that," she explained in an exclusive MTV News sneak peek at a featurette from the "Deathly Hallows Part 2" Blu-ray and DVD, in stores on November 11. "In the book, Minerva McGonagall is the one who does it and for me it was very important that she did that."

It can get lonely, living in a fantasy world populated by dwarves, dragons and hobbits. Maybe that's why Luke Evans, the actor tapped to play Bard the Bowman in Peter Jackson's upcoming "Lord of the Rings" prequels, has been so taken by his "The Hobbit" cast mates down in New Zealand, during the year-long shoot.

MTV News sat down with Evans while he was promoting "Immortals," and he gave an update about his role in the upcoming two-part fantasy epic. "I had a bit of training before we started shooting on 'The Hobbit.' I'm fully into it now, and it's great," Evans said. "I'm having a fantastic time. Living in New Zealand, it's like a different world. It is a different world. It's very, very cool."

Harry Potter

Harry, Hermione and Ron survived their fair share of ordeals over the course of the "Harry Potter" franchise, but they almost didn't make it out alive — not all of them, at least.

"Potter" creator J.K. Rowling recently admitted in an interview that she briefly flirted with the idea of killing off Ron Weasley, Harry's red-headed best friend, before the series reached its conclusion. In the end, she couldn't pull the trigger (or cast the killing curse, as it were), gifting the series' core trio with the happy ending fans had hoped for all along.

Killing Ron Weasley would have been a major twist, to say the least, but would it have been a good one? We rounded up some of our favorite "Potter" experts from around the blogosphere to weigh in on how the death of Ron would have changed the game.

Kevin Smith might have been calling "Hit Somebody" his "hockey movie," but when he chatted with MTV News recently, he was quick to clarify that it's much more than just that.

"Now I understand some people are like, 'Dude, one hockey movie is a tough sell. Two?' I call it a hockey movie in the same way I've been calling 'Red State' a horror movie, and then people see 'Red State' and are like, 'That's not a horror movie.' Well, I don't know what else to call it," he explained. "Trust me though, it ain't a hockey movie. It's about so much more."

It at least had a big enough story that he felt he needed to split what was to be his last movie as a director into his last two movies as a director.
