FROM MTV MOVIES: The echoes of MTV News' "Breaking Dawn" live stream event with Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner are still reverberating through Grauman's Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, but MTV News is already getting set to do it all over again.
On Monday, November 14, at 8 p.m. ET on MTV.com, host Josh Horowitz will be streaming live for two hours from the red-carpet premiere of "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1" outside L.A.'s Nokia Theatre. That means we'll once again be talking to Pattinson, Stewart and Lautner, as well as the rest of your favorite "Twilight" stars. It's all happening just days before the film arrives in theaters on November 18.

File this under things I definitely did not see coming: I am actually, seriously psyched to see "Journey 2: The Mysterious Island."
The "Journey 2" trailer, which debuted this week at Yahoo, is fantastically strange and ridiculous. A sequel to "Journey to the Center of the Earth," this latest adventure ditches Brendan Fraser for Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and keeps Josh Hutcherson firmly in place, carrying the torch for the Anderson family featured in the 2008 movie.

Developments on the Academy Awards front are coming in fast and furious. First came word that Brett Ratner was resigning as Oscars producer in light of the controversial remarks he made during a "Tower Heist" public screening last weekend. Less than 24 hours later, Eddie Murphy dropped out as the show's host, leaving the biggest night in Hollywood without two of its most important creative pillars.
Well, at least one of those holes has now been filled: Imagine Entertainment co-founder Brian Grazer has been tapped to replace Ratner as producer of the 2012 Academy Awards.

If the "Snow White and the Huntsman" banner that was released earlier today was meant to make us amped for the teaser trailer being released tomorrow, then it definitely did a good job. The Rupert Sanders-directed action adventure film has plenty of exciting things going for it -- Kristen Stewart in a suit of armor, for one -- yet there has only been a small amount of low-key promotion going for it so far.
Sure, the film is still more than six months away from hitting theaters, but the movie is likely to be boosted to popularity thanks to the fact its trailer will probably be tacked on before every showing of "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn -- Part 1," which comes out next Friday.
The banner got us thinking about all the aspects of "Snow White and the Huntsman" we're most looking forward to, and that we hope we will see teased in tomorrow's trailer. Read on after the jump to see what you have to look forward to (hopefully) in the teaser's release.

And just like that, he's gone. Not even 24 hours after director Brett Ratner resigned as producer of next Feburary's Academy Awards amid controversy, host Eddie Murphy has stepped down as Oscars host. Whether Murphy would soldier on without Ratner became part of the discussion soon after the producer parted from the ceremony, and now the world has its answer.
No matter how you look at it, this is a disappointment. Whether Murphy had succeeded or failed, the comedy icon needed to answer the question once and for all: "Does Eddie still have it?"

If Leonardo DiCaprio picks up an Oscar nomination for his role as the enigmatic head of the FBI in "J. Edgar," that will make him two-for-two with Academy Award nominations and biopics. (We won't count "Catch Me If You Can" because it focused on Tom Hanks' character almost as much as Frank Abagnale, Jr.)
Ever since he was nominated in 2005 for his role as Howard Hughes in "The Aviator," a number of other biopic projects have made headlines with DiCaprio's name attached to star. So many have come up, in fact, that it's been hard to keep track of them all -- so we've compiled a list of the biopics DiCaprio's been at least mentioned with. Check them out past the jump!
"Fleming"
Back in 2008, DiCaprio began developing a biopic based on the life of Ian Fleming, the author of the James Bond novels. The script under went one re-write, and a rival project popped up roughly a year later. Not much has been heard from the project in two years.

Brett Ratner is currently on some sort of apology tour after using an anti-gay slur during a question-and-answer session while promoting "Tower Heist." His latest atonement, following a formal apology and his resignation as producer of next year's Oscars, is, like Tracy Morgan before him, to team up with GLAAD to "convene public discussions featuring leaders in the entertainment industry about promoting fair and accurate inclusions of LGBT people and stories."
"When we sat down with Brett today, he seemed very sincere in his desire to use this experience as a way to begin speaking out against anti-gay language in popular culture,” Herndon Graddick, GLAAD's senior director of Programs and Communications, said in a statement.
That's all well and good and, of course, it's admirable that he's taking some responsibility for saying something as foolish as "Rehearsal is for f**s." But come on. Why is no one calling this guy out on all the other things he's been saying that he should be apologizing for? Namely the misogynistic and racist remarks he made about Olivia Munn and Lindsay Lohan.

Warner Bros has their Oscar campaign for "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2" under control. A new ad for their For Your Consideration crusade highlights every single tear-jerking moment from the film. Snape's memories? Check. Harry's walk into the forest? Check. The King's Cross Station scene? Absolutely. Only time will tell whether it has what it takes to convince the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to give it a best picture nod, but it certainly has us poised to go out and buy the DVD when it hits stores Friday.

Ever since the clock ran down on the real-time thriller "24," fans have been itching for more Jack Bauer. Sure, it's nice that we'll get Kiefer Sutherland back on the small screen in the new Fox drama "Touch," but it's just not the same. We want Jack. We want endless hours of counter-terrorism and espionage badassery. We want more "24."
Well, though we're still waiting on official word about the movie, "24" is making a comeback… albeit in quite the unexpected way.

After a torrential downpour of indefensible comments, Brett Ratner apologized and stepped down as the producer of the 2012 Academy Awards telecast. In his official apology, the director went on to explain that he understands that his behavior has been inappropriate and that he is making strides to change his behavior in the future.
Ratner's apology is a step in the right direction. But here at Movies Blog, we'd like to see the "Tower Heist" filmmaker go the extra mile and apologize for a few other things he forgot to check off his list of offenses.
