Retreat

Cillian Murphy has seen his fair share of end-of-the-world experiences. He came out of a coma mid-zombie apocalypse in "28 Days Later," and set out on a doomed journey to reignite the dying sun in "Sunshine."

While those movies take place on a much bigger scale, Murphy's latest effort, "Retreat," sees the actor trying to survive in a scaled-back version of the end of days.

More and more, Steve Little is becoming one of the most instantly recognizable voices in the business. As Stevie Janowski on "Eastbound & Down," there are times when Little utters a line that would be completely harmless coming from any other actor's mouth, but his distinct voice corrupts even the most innocent of phrases and turns them into something wholly ridiculous and hilarious. Really, it's quite the gift.

Little's involvement is a big part of why we're excited about "The Catechism Cataclysm," the actor's new movie opposite Robert Longstreet about two old high school buddies who reconnect over a canoe trip gone weird. Director Todd Rohal's upcoming comedy, out in limited release on October 21 and hitting VOD on October 26, show cases all kinds of stories from Little and Longstreet… including this little gem you're about to see.

Enjoy this exclusive "Cataclysm" clip, one that shines the spotlight on the danger of letting grandmothers drive… and the danger of giving them guns.

After many rumors and much hoopla, Matt Damon is finally lining up his directorial debut.

Variety has learned that Damon and "The Office" star John Krasinski have co-written a currently untitled script that Damon will now helm. The idea originated between Krasinski and "Away We Go" writer Dave Eggers, and then Damon came on board. The film would follow a salesman who reevaluates his life after moving to a small town, with Damon playing the salesman. The flick is currently set up at Warner Bros, and should start shooting soon on the east coast.

Harold and Kumar

In case you missed it, the red band trailer for "A Very Harold And Kumar 3D Christmas" debuted over at IGN yesterday. And in watching the two minutes and twenty seconds of very explicit, drug-fueled action, never was there a more appropriate movie to garner the red band label.

As is custom with the adventures of Harold and Kumar, there are drugs, sex, violence and my personal favorite, Neil Patrick Harris. MTV News was lucky enough to get a few moments on the phone with Harold himself, John Cho, to discuss the magic of the trailer and what more we can expect from the full length film.

Read on after the jump to find out what Cho had to say about infant drug use, NPH and the film's boob count.

The Dark Knight Rises

Hoping to see "The Dark Knight Rises" a little bit early? Hang on for another two months and you just might get your chance.

The latest Batman buzz is that a six-minute "Dark Knight Rises" prologue will be attached to copies of the IMAX release of "Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol" in December, just like the Joker-driven opening scene of "The Dark Knight" was attached to "I Am Legend" ahead of its release. Warner Bros. declined to comment on the story, so take this one as a rumor for now. We'll bring you official word when we get it.

FROM MTV MOVIES: It's not often that you see people standing for hours in a line that wraps around the block just for the chance to get scared out of their minds, but that's exactly what happened Tuesday night in New York at an advance fan screening of "Paranormal Activity 3."

Fans tweeted for a chance to check out the third entry in the found-footage horror series and to learn how the haunting started. Some of the hopeful audience members showed up as early as the morning before the 10 p.m. screening.

Once inside the theater, the lucky crowd competed for prizes like iPods, only heightening the excitement in the room. When it was finally time to screen the movie, directors Ariel Schulman and Henry Joost showed up, appropriately decked out for Halloween with fake knives and syringes lodged in each of their heads.

If you like superheroes as much as we do, it's safe to assume that you also feel that there can never be too many movies made that feature folks with super powers. We have a while to wait for more action from more familiar heroes like "The Avengers" and "X-Men," but Fox is helping to fill our superhero void with their new movie "Chronicle," which is about three normal teenage boys who develop extra special abilities after being exposed to a mysterious substance in the woods.

We are happy to say that we have an exclusive look at the first trailer of the film, which was written by Max Landis (son of John Landis) and directed by Josh Trank ("Big Fan"). The cast includes Michael B. Jordan, Alex Russell and Dane DeHaan. Take a look, and click on for a detailed description!

Michael Bay

Those reports of upcoming back-to-back "Transformers" sequels with Michael Bay back at the helm with Jason Statham riding shotgun? Sounds like there is less than meets the eye on this one.

Statham himself claimed ignorance regarding the "Transformers" rumors in an interview with MTV News, and now Bay is distancing himself from the Autobots and Decepticons as well. Taking to his own Shoot For The Edit forum (via Collider), Bay said that he's not currently in talks with Paramount about making new "Transformers" movies, focusing on his long-discussed crime thriller "Pain and Gain" instead.
