"Downton Abbey" star Rose Leslie likely knows something about the big role she just landed on "Game of Thrones."
Entertainment Weekly has the news that Leslie will play Ygritte, the love interest of Jon Snow in the second season of HBO's hit fantasy drama. Leslie certainly fits the description of Ygritte in the books, though it's hard to picture the wildling without the heavy clothing and cloaks she wears to keep herself warm north of The Wall. Ygritte is one of the last major players left to be cast this season.

Stop your lamenting about Netflix's plan to divide their company in two, because they have already cancelled the launch of their sister site, Qwikster.
Announced only three short weeks ago, Qwikster was supposed to take over the DVD rental service that Netflix previously offered. But the immediate consumer backlash led Netflix CEO Reed Hastings to realize that maybe that wasn't such a great idea. He announced today in a statement that the new business model has been scrapped, and Netflix will remain Netflix for the foreseeable future.

Johnny Depp is poised to star as yet another colorful author in the upcoming Dr. Seuss biopic.
He is reported to be producing the project, but is also considering playing beloved children's author, born Theodor Geisel, in the upcoming flick. Though the movie won't end up relying on CGI as much as, say, "Alice in Wonderland" did, the flick's producers did say that it will include some animated elements. Depp has already portrayed "Peter Pan" author J.M. Barrie and "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas" author Hunter S. Thompson on the big screen.

"Real Steel" stepped into the box office ring this weekend and knocked out the competition with all of the fight and fury one would expect from a future-set robot boxing sports drama… which is to say, a surprising amount of success. The Shawn Levy and Hugh Jackman collaboration roped in an estimated $27.3 million this weekend, beating its next closest competitor — George Clooney and Ryan Gosling's political drama, "The Ides of March" — by almost $17 million.
It's a strong result for a movie that's practically designed to raise eyebrows: a big budget blockbuster set in a world where human boxers have been replaced with cybernetic gladiators, all with a central focus on an estranged father and son coming together for a greater goal? Not the easiest sell on paper. But the numbers are in, and based on what we've already seen reported, Fox is very much interested in pursuing "Real Steel" sequels… something that Levy and his pals are certainly quite happy about, no doubt.

You can put the Aussie in the city, but can you put the city in the Aussie? "Real Steel" star Hugh Jackman has lived in New York City for some time now, but can he pass a rigorous test from After Hours host and life-long New Yorker, Josh Horowitz?
Check out the latest episode of After Hours to see Jackman name the girls from "Sex and the City" (who the heck is Caitlin?), identify where Spidey lives and show off his best Woody Allen impersonation.
Let us know how Hugh did in the comment section and on Twitter.

Nobody likes a dirty girl, but count me amongst the growing number who've fallen in love with "Dirty Girl," director Abe Sylvia's semi-autobiographical movie about two teenage outsiders — Danielle (Juno Temple), the promiscuous girl in school, and Clarke (newcomer Jeremy Dozier), a loner struggling to hide his homosexuality from his intolerant and increasingly suspicious father (Dwight Yoakim) — who forge an unlikely friendship and set out together on an impromptu road trip of self discovery.
Temple, soon to be seen in an unspecified role in "The Dark Knight Rises," swung by MTV News this week to talk about her work in "Dirty Girl." The actress turns in a dazzling performance as Danielle, someone who begins the movie as a ruthlessly mean-spirited, do-what-it-takes-to-get-your-way kind of gal, but slowly reveals herself to be someone else: a young girl looking to fill a hole in her heart.

You know, it's really true: you really do learn something new every day. For instance, my girlfriend just discovered that she's allergic to mangos. For another, and more to the point of the movies realm, I never knew that kids are susceptible to supernatural contact — but now I do, thanks to a brand new clip from "Paranormal Activity 3." See the ease with which children interact with the great, terrible beyond in this "Paranormal" clip below.
In "Paranormal Activity 3," the franchise dips back to the beginning: viewers are invited into the terrifying year of 1988, when series leads Katie and Kristi first encountered the hostile entities that have haunted "Paranormal" lovers for years now.
"Catfish" duo Ariel Schulman and Henry Joost directed the found-footage horror prequel, which arrives in theaters on October 21. You can fight for the chance to see the movie early by participating in the "Tweet to See it First" campaign.
