The first trailer we saw for Hammer's "The Woman in Black" was stately, quiet, and unnerving. This new UK trailer for the ghostly flick amps up the action and shows how young lawyer Arthur Kipps ("Harry Potter's" Daniel Radcliffe) races to uncover the dark secrets of one English village and a mysterious woman who keeps appearing in the mansion he has come to work in.
It features not just one creepy dead girl ghost, but three — and lots of atmospheric, jumpy chills. You'll be able to meet the woman in black on February 3, 2012 — but in the meantime, see what other horrific things await you in this week's Horror Bites after the jump.

Though Oscar Isaac might not have been one of the top-billed actors in Nicolas Winding Refn's critical hit "Drive," his performance as a man just out of prison trying to do right by his family definitely got the attention of a couple big name Hollywood directors.
Deadline is reporting that Isaac has landed the much-sought-after lead role in the Coen brothers' latest film, "Inside Llewyn Davis." The flick focuses on the early folk music scene in the 60s in Greenwich Village, and its lead characters are loosely based on the lives of Dave Van Ronk and Tom Paxton. Shooting is slated to start early next year in New York.

"The Big Year," opening in theaters nationwide today (October 14), tells the story of three men on individual quests that all happen to exist on the same path. For Stu Preissler (Steve Martin), the high-powered New York City business man is looking to retire for good and pursue his true lifelong passion before it's too late. Brad Harris (Jack Black), unsatisfied with his uneventful life, is looking for purpose. And Kenny Bostick (Owen Wilson) wants nothing more than to maintain his precious record, a singular glorious achievement that defines him fully, whether he wants to admit it or not.
So, how do these three men set out to achieve their goals? By watching birds. Lots and lots and lots of them.
On the surface, a film about bird-watching seems… strange, to say the least. But "The Big Year," packed with countless beautiful birds and endless scenic landscapes, finds its heart in the hilarious and endearing core trio of Wilson, Martin and Black. All three comedians are at the top of their game in the film, but surprisingly, they're rarely all on screen together at the same time.

One of the more surprising—but welcome—early announcements about the new "Hobbit" films was that Orlando Bloom would reprise his role as everyone's favorite blond-haired elfish archer, Legolas. Though the character does not appear in the book, director Peter Jackson wrote a part for a younger Legolas to make his return to Middle Earth.
"I was very honored that Pete wrote me back into it because it's perfectly feasible that I could be there," Bloom says. "That they thought to have me there was a real compliment."

Well, let's face it: it wouldn't be an "American Pie" sequel without Jason Biggs doing something sexually shameful, and in that regard, the first official teaser trailer for "American Reunion" doesn't disappoint.
As debuted on MSN, this red-band trailer — see: not safe for work — is but a brief glance into the lives of Jim and Michelle, the high school sweethearts turned lifelong lovers played by Biggs and Alyson Hannigan… but what little we do happen to see is, ah, much more than enough, to put it in gentle terms.

FROM MTV MOVIES: Much like the unforgivable and unpredictable nature of the American Old West, the plight of Johnny Depp and Gore Verbinski's big-screen adaptation of "The Lone Ranger" has been quite a bumpy ride.
The film got the green light earlier this year, with Depp settled into the role of Tonto and Armie Hammer selected to play the Ranger. Then in August, Disney put a halt on the production with claims that the budget was too big. Just this week, negotiations ended on a happy note, with the production back in full swing and a tentative start date scheduled for early next year.
MTV News caught up with Depp as he promoted "The Rum Diary," which opens October 28, to find out why "Ranger" is so important to him and why the budget became such a big issue for the studio bigwigs.

For someone who doesn't exist, Peter Bishop sure is getting a lot of attention.
"Fringe," the breathtaking Fox series currently in its fourth year on television, is well known for taking bizarre risks and asking viewers to come along for the ride… but erasing one of the show's most important characters — Joshua Jackson's skeptic young genius Peter Bishop — completely from existence? That's a gigantic gamble, even for this show.
When Anna Torv, who stars in the series as brilliant FBI agent Olivia Dunham, stopped by MTV News this week to talk about the current season of "Fringe," we asked her the most important question of all: what is life like in a world without Peter Bishop?

Nobody is dead forever in James Cameron's sci-fi universe, so don't expect Sigourney Weaver to be sitting out of "Avatar 2."
"When you have a science-fiction series, a science-fiction franchise, you’re never dead, unless your DNA is expunged from the universe. And then there’s always time travel!" he explained in an interview with Vulture. "
But that's not his only explanation for how the late Doctor Grace Augustine might return to the "avatar" universe: "Have you ever heard of nonlinear storytelling? A lot happens on that planet before she shows up, and before Jake shows up to join her. She’s there for fifteen years ahead of time."

Welcome to Puerto Rico, where hotel rooms were made to be trashed, a couple hundred miniature bottles of booze can disappear down your gullet overnight, and you might wake up in your boxer shorts with a tsunami-sized hangover and the vague recollection that you've probably made some exceedingly poor decisions in the recent past.
OK, a typical tropical getaway this is not. But then Johnny Depp's Puerto Rican escapades in "The Rum Dairy" are anything but the norm, as MTV News' exclusive poster debut makes hilariously clear.
The poster presents a sort of "before" image of Depp as journalist Paul Kemp rising from the booze-soaked near dead in the Caribbean after a hard day's night. See the poster in full after the jump!
