Bunraku,” director Guy Moshe’s latest picture, is, as leading man Gackt so eloquently (and confusingly) described to MTV News in an exclusive interview, “a Cowboy meets Samurai meets Mafia action flick. It’s an action-packed movie unlike any other, mixing various genres in the style of Japanese puppetry.” Confusing, yes, but pretty much spot on: no matter how you slice it, “Bunraku” is nothing if not unique.

In a future where bullets have been outlawed and hand-to-hand combat has become the primary method of conflict resolution, the ruthless Nicola the Woodcutter (Ron Perlman) rules the world east of the Atlantic with the aid of nine deadly assassins. But Nicola has a target on his back as well: a Drifter (Josh Hartnett) wanders into town with a thirst for whiskey and a hunger for blood, while the samurai Yoshi (Gackt) also comes calling with his sights set on the Woodcutter. Initially adversaries, Yoshi and the Drifter have to put aside their differences if they’re to stand a chance at achieving their quests for vengeance.

Check out five reasons why you should see “Bunraku” past the jump.

50/50 In a nutshell, "50/50" is movie about an otherwise average 27-year-old guy named Adam who gets diagnosed with cancer, and what happens to his life and the people in it when faced with 50/50 odds of survival.

Unlike most of the generic, forgettable fare that Hollywood churns out each year, this film is something special. With an all-star cast including Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Seth Rogen, Anna Kendrick and Anjelica Huston, you will actually care about the characters, get swept up in the story and actually feel something when you walk out. "50/50" is one of the best movies I've seen this year, and here are a few reasons why it will be one of your favorites as well.

Optimus Prime, leader of the Autobots and animated role model for generations of geeks, would be nothing without his voice — so, really, the hero you have to thank for years of service isn't Prime himself, but voice actor Peter Cullen.

Cullen, who also provides the iconic voice of Eeyore the donkey of "Winnie the Pooh" fame, first breathed life into the cybernetic lungs of Optimus Prime in the 1980s "Transformers" animated series and movie; and he's still at it, providing the voice of the transforming hero in all three of Michael Bay's "Transformers" movies, most recently "Dark of the Moon." For many fans, Cullen's is one of the most memorable, beloved voices of our childhood — and it'll please you to know that, fans, he loves you, too.

With "Transformers: Dark of the Moon" arriving on Blu-ray today (September 30), MTV News sat down for a one-on-one chat with Cullen about Optimus Prime and his heroic legacy.

Paramount Pictures has released a brand new trailer today of "Paranormal Activity 3," which will serve as a prequel showcasing how Katie and Krisiti started this battle with demons.

Although a very brief trailer, it looks like there will be more of a back story explained and not just a movie full of camcorder shots, but the majority of the trailer takes place in the daytime, and everyone knows that the real freaks (in this case paranormal demons) come out at night.

Director Guy Moshe's "Bunraku" isn't all about fighting, but you could certainly be forgiven for thinking otherwise. Set in a future where bullets have been outlawed and conflicts are started and finished with fists, "Bunraku" follows two men — a Drifter played by Josh Hartnett and a samurai, Yoshi, played by Gackt — out on a deadly mission with a mutual goal… one that's destined to end in blood.

We have an exclusive clip from "Bunraku" for your viewing pleasure today, but that's not all. We also spoke with Japanese singer-songwriter and actor Gackt, who makes his English language debut in "Bunraku," about playing the even-tempered Yoshi, working with Hartnett and shooting the film's most grueling fight sequences. See what he had to say after the jump!

In addition to obsessing over casting announcements, set photos and plot details, we cinephiles love nothing more than a good old fashioned debate over the best performances in film history and the actors who delivered them. This "Who Played It Best?" game has endless possibilities for inciting fun-filled arguments with friends, and it's even more fun when you can get the actors in question involved.

When MTV News caught up with Jonah Hill recently to address the award buzz surrounding his role in "Moneyball," we decided to throw in a question about the best onscreen stoners since, you know, he and his "Moneyball" co-star Brad Pitt have both played them. Not to mention the fact that a few of the movies Hill has made involve and/or revolve around pot smokers.

So who does Hill think played the better stoner, Pitt in "True Romance" or himself in "Knocked Up"?
