FROM NEXTMOVIE: The last "Harry Potter" movie is coming out on July 15, but while "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2" brings Harry's story to an end, the story of the film's young stars is just beginning.
For the last decade, we've watched Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint and the whole gang grow up right before our eyes. But now that they've left the nest, which ones will fly -- and which will crash into the ground?
Vote now in our poll and tell us just which "Harry Potter" star you think will be the most successful. And if you're feeling pressure over who to pick, don't worry: This poll will only determine the rest of their lives. Happy voting!

If yesterday's interview with Richard Armitage didn't get you excited enough for Peter Jackson's adaptation of "The Hobbit," then today's first look at the dwarves should put you over the edge.
A photo has been released of the three brother dwarves in the film: Nori (Jed Brophy), Ori (Adam Brown) and Dori (Mark Hadlow). Other than Gimli in "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy, we haven't met our fair share of dwarves in Jackson's universe. That's all about to change with "The Hobbit," but it's nice to see that the costuming is in line with the previous trilogy and that the attempt at continuity (which we never doubted would occur) is definitely there.

If a good combination works, why change it? That's the mentality we're guessing is going behind the reteaming of Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, Jonathan Levine and Will Reiser for the flick "Jamaica."
The foursome worked together on "50/50," and now The Hollywood Reporter has the news that they will be working together on a second film drawn from director Levine's past. The script, according to THR, will be based on a vacation Levine took to Jamaica with his grandmother when he was 14, and is being described as "something of a passion project."
In the news after the jump, a new actor heads to "Gangster Squad," "Animal Farm" might get remade and J.B. Smoove joins "The Dictator."

We all know the legendary horror filmmaker John Carpenter from his 1978 classic "Halloween" and now he's back to serve a generous helping of scares to a whole new generation by locking them in "The Ward."
Carpenter's latest thriller, which hits theaters this Friday (July 8), centers on a young woman named Kristen who is institutionalized in a mental hospital during the mid-sixties, where she's soon haunted and terrorized by a dangerous ghost. The only way to end this deadly madness is to uncover the haunting's secrets, but some truths are better left dead.
It's a fun premise with an equally amazing cast that's well versed in the horror world — leading lady Amber Heard is used to battling the undead in "Zombieland" and "Drive Angry," naturally, while fellow "Ward" star Danielle Panabaker has survived through thrillers like "Friday the 13th" and "The Crazies." But sometimes a cool story and a compelling cast isn't enough to get you into the theater… sometimes, you need more proof. Well, we've got more proof for you in the form of this exclusive clip from "The Ward."

FROM MTV MOVIES: The clock is ticking for the characters competing in the "Harry Potter" World Cup and the fans who love them. What was once a field of 64 is already down to eight, and on Monday, July 11, the winner will be declared live during MTV News' live stream from the red carpet of the "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2" New York City premiere.
MTV News' Josh Horowitz will be manning the carpet, chatting with fan favorites Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, Emma Watson, Alan Rickman, Tom Felton, Matthew Lewis, Helen McCroy and director David Yates among others. Fans can submit their questions for the stars via MTV.com or Twitter (tweet @MTVNews using the hashtag #AskPotter) starting now and throughout the live stream, which kicks off at 4:30 p.m. ET on MTV.com.
Over 5 million votes have been cast so far, and there are still three more rounds of voting to go. The Elite Eight were announced on Wednesday morning (July 6): Harry Potter vs. Severus Snape, Hermione Granger vs. Remus Lupin, Ron Weasley vs. Rubeus Hagrid and Draco Malfoy vs. Sirius Black. Voting for this round will continue through Thursday at midnight, when the Final Four will be announced.
World Cup voting for the Final Four continues through midnight on Sunday, and then the final two favorite "Harry Potter" characters battle it out during the championship round until the winner is announced live. With five out of the Elite Eight actors attending the premiere, there's a good chance we'll be able to chat with the stars about how far their characters made it in the World Cup.
Welcome to MTV's Harry Potter World Cup! We've selected 64 of the best "Harry Potter" characters and matched them up in a series of duels for a chance at magical glory, but it's up to YOU to decide who the greatest "Potter" character of all time is in this pool of wizards and witches. Will the Death Eaters destroy Hogwarts, or will good triumph over evil? In the end, the choice is yours, so keep voting at MTV Movies Blog and make your voice heard!
After destroying Rufus Scrimgeour, defeating his dear cousin Tonks and absolutely obliterating Lord Voldemort, the Prisoner of Azkaban is looking very good going into this next round of the Harry Potter World Cup. Except there's one small problem -- a problem who goes by the name of Draco Malfoy. Winning Diagon Alley might not be so easy for Sirius Black after all.
Polls for all of the Elite Eight duels close at 12:01 AM EST on Friday (July 8), so start voting now!
(1) Draco Malfoy vs. (3) Sirius Black
Sirius has emerged as one of the strongest players in the entire World Cup, beating all of his competitors with a healthy lead every step of the way. But will Padfoot's luck run out in the face of Draco, the Slytherin student who begrudgingly took his place as one of Voldemort's many Death Eaters? The World Cup hasn't been easy for Draco, and it's not likely to get any easier for him now. Still, if there's a time for Malfoy fans to rally, it's now: Draco is one of the very last "bad guys" remaining in the competition, so if you're looking to insert some dark magic into the final rounds, you're running out of options.

With only two weeks left until "The Hobbit" makes its big presentation at Comic-Con, we're happy for anything we can get on the upcoming films.
Fortunately for us, Total Film has a badass interview with Richard Armitage about his role as the dwarf Thorin Oakshield. His hint: we're going to be getting a whole lot more dwarves mythology than we witnessed in "Lord of the Rings."
“The book is so focused on the dwarves, so I think it’s a chance for Peter [Jackson] and Fran [Walsh] to really look at that whole race in more detail, their heritage and what they’re like as characters," he said. Sounds like a win to us!
In the news after the jump, Spike Lee looks into remaking "Oldboy," a new "Three Musketeers" trailer hits the web and "Knights of Badassdom" head to Comic-Con.

It took three rounds and well over one million votes to make it happen, but here we are: Cedric Diggory is dead — again — and his dreams of winning the Harry Potter World Cup have died with him.
It's the understatement of the tournament to say that Cedric was a divisive figure in the World Cup. Whether you loved or hated his presence, there's no doubting that the pride of Hufflepuff's involvement in the competition inspired you to vote, vote and vote again in one direction or the other. Now, he's gone, felled by Rubeus Hagrid by over 81,000 votes. His loss signals relief for many and heartache for others, but no matter how you feel about his presence in the World Cup, you have to give the man credit: it was a flashy exit, if nothing else.
We've whipped up a little In Memoriam video to say goodbye to Cedric Diggory once and for all. Hopefully it's a fitting tribute for those of you who loved and voted for him. For the people who didn't care for Cedric and his place in the World Cup, well, at least you get to watch the bad man kill the spare again.
Adios, Cedric. That's all the time we have to mourn, though... the remaining World Cup contenders require our attention!
Who is the best "Harry Potter" character of all time? The "Harry Potter" World Cup will find out! Voting is going on now right here, and you can also get the debate going on Twitter with the hashtag #mtvpottercup.

Seven members of the Weasley family (not counting in-laws) entered the Harry Potter World Cup. Now, there's only Ron. After struggling in his first-round duel against Lavender Brown and, more recently, slugging it out with Fred, Ron is now just votes away from making the Final Four... if Rubeus Hagrid doesn't put an end to his World Cup hopes first.
Polls for all of the Elite Eight duels close at 12:01 AM EST on Friday (July 8), so start voting now!
(1) Ron Weasley vs. (2) Rubeus Hagrid
There are no easy choices to be made in the Elite Eight, but of all four duels, this one might be the toughest to predict. On one hand you have Ron, the tried and true best friend of Harry who's stuck with the Boy Who Lived through thick and through thin. On the other you have Hagrid, one of Harry's first and strongest connections with the wizarding world, not to mention the guy who finally killed the spare. Both Ron and Hagrid have had their ups and downs over the years, but I'm sure neither would relish the opportunity to knock the other out of this competition. Sadly, that's the situation they face: only one of these beloved characters can move along, and the choice is entirely in your hands.

After hearing that Jason Statham may be a possible replacement for Shia LaBeouf as the lead in a fourth installment in the "Transformers" franchise, my mind began to race with awesome plot possibilities. Below are the first five that came to mind. Feel free to share your ideas in the comments section.

Jason Statham as... Optimus Prime?
Yes, that’s right. In some bizarre twist of fate, the Autobots have discovered a new technology allowing them to transform into humans, T-1000 style. First in line to try this new technology? Optimus Prime. Who does he decide to transform into? You guessed it. Because other than Optimus, who on this planet is more badass than Jason Statham?
