This January, you’ll get to see famous MMA fighter Gina Carano kick some major butt as the lead character in the action flick “Haywire.” The Steven Soderbergh-directed revenge thriller had a huge presence at San Diego Comic-Con this year, where the cast and crew debuted the movie's much-awaited trailer. Here, take a look!
To learn more about "Haywire," MTV News sat down with Carano and co-star Channing Tatum to get the goods on this fighting-spree movie. When Carano was asked if she were “kicking ass wall-to-wall,” in the movie, she smiled knowingly and answered to the affirmative.
“Yeah, yeah. I like the physical stuff,” she said. “Running and shooting guns and fighting people.”
Did all that include a fight with Channing Tatum?
“This guy?” Carano joked.
Oh, yeah, she gets him in the movie.
“I don’t fare very well,” Tatum said in a strained voice. “Don’t fare very well at all. No, I lose pretty bad, actually. We kind of have a really beautiful opening scene. I like to call it beautiful because it was a symphony of ass-whuppin’. And I was on the receiving end of that.”
But obviously he doesn’t mind. Tatum went on to express his admiration of Carano, including watching her on reality TV. “I’ve been a fan of Gina’s for a long time,” he went on. Carano’s surprise was obvious, and Tatum expressed reservation in admitting to some of his TV choices. “I didn’t want to be the geek, but now I am.”
