Our "Harry Potter" fever is starting to subside -- not by choice, but by necessity, mind you -- and it's time to start looking ahead at the summer's next big hits... like "Rise of the Planet of the Apes," for example, which is heating up once again today thanks to a brand new clip.
Yahoo Movies posted the extended four-minute clip, offering us our most extensive look at the "Apes" revival yet. Check it out and meet us past the jump for more!
The moving clip has everything: John Lithgow, James Franco, and an extremely overprotective ape that goes by the name Caeser (played by Andy Serkis from the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy). Lithgow suffers from Alzheimer's disease and makes the mistake of getting into the wrong car. When things get out of hand, Caeser has his back… and his neighbor's face. Let's just say that if you find yourself getting into a dispute with a neighbor who happens to have an ape as a BFF, you might want to let it go.
"Rise of the Planet of The Apes" takes place in present day San Francisco, where a man (Franco) goes a little too far with genetic engineering and leads to the development of highly intelligent apes that start a revolution and a war for supremacy. "Rise" is just the latest entry in the "Apes" series which began in 1968 with "Planet of the Apes." It comes from director Rupert Wyatt and also co-stars Frieda Pinto ("Slumdog Millionaire") and Tom Felton, best known for playing Draco Malfoy in the "Harry Potter" movies.
In fact, Tom spoke with us recently about his work on the new "Apes" film -- see what he had to say in the video below!
