World, meet Bofur, Bombur and Bifur, the latest three "The Hobbit" dwarves to be revealed on the world wide web.
The seventh, eighth and ninth members of Thorin Oakenshield's party to reclaim the Lonely Mountain from the dragon Smaug are the only three who hail from western Middle-Earth, IGN points out. It makes sense, then, that these three are the most "dwarfy" of the company that we've seen. But hey, who can judge them for their handlebar mustaches and pot bellies, they only came because the beer was free!
Fili and Kili were revealed earlier this week, joining Oin and Gloin and Nori, Ori and Dori in having their handsome mugs being revealed to the Internet. That leaves brothers Dwalin and Balin and Thorin Oakenshield himself as the final three dwarves we haven't seen. Our guess is we'll get two more big reveals over the next couple of weeks to round out this slow and steady marketing.
Then, we have to admit, we hope Bilbo, Gandalf, Gollum and -- fingers crossed -- Smaug all get similar treatment. The dwarves dominate the characters in the book in terms of numbers, but we're even more interested to see the other leading men as well. But it would be nice to see some actual stills from the film, even if they're behind -the-scenes, so that we can get a better sense of the look of Peter Jackson's latest films.
