Harry PotterWelcome to MTV's Harry Potter World Cup! We've selected 64 of the best "Harry Potter" characters and matched them up in a series of duels for a chance at magical glory, but it's up to YOU to decide who the greatest "Potter" character of all time is in this pool of wizards and witches. Will the Death Eaters destroy Hogwarts, or will good triumph over evil? In the end, the choice is yours, so keep voting at MTV Movies Blog and make your voice heard!

Round two voting in the Harry Potter World Cup continues into Tuesday (June 28), kicking off the second round match-ups of the Godric's Hollow division. Today's first duel is one that won't be easy on voters, I'm sure: Hermione Granger, the smartest witch of her age, versus Fawkes, Professor Albus Dumbledore's precious phoenix. Good luck with the voting, muggles — I'm glad I'm not the one making this call.

Voting for all second round match-ups will close on Friday, July 1 at 12:01 AM EST, so make sure to start voting now. You can follow all of the duels right here.

(1) Hermione vs. (9) Fawkes
Though Fawkes was able to defeat the goodhearted ghost Nearly Headless Nick in the first round, all the lives in the world won't matter when stacked up against Hermione. As one of the "Harry Potter" story's most important characters — and, without a doubt, the most important female character — the odds are certainly in the witch's favor. Then again… it's Fawkes! We love Fawkes! The question is, which one do we love more?

Once again, it's a battle between Hogwarts faculty members in this second round match-up of the Privet Drive division. Except this time, underdog Professor Flitwick — who surprisingly squeaked past the higher-seeded Professor Trelawney with little resistance in round one — has a steeper hill to climb as he faces Potions master and Dumbledore slayer (or is it euthanizer?) Severus Snape. Is the outcome of this battle already etched in blood, or does the Charms master have a chance?

(2) Severus Snape vs. (10) Professor Flitwick
The pint-sized Flitwick displayed great power and perseverance in his first round match-up against Divination expert Sybill Trelawney, but he's going to have to dig much, much deeper if he wants to beat the solemn Severus Snape. Those who've read the books know that, hey, Snape isn't such a bad guy after all, but that doesn't mean he's not a threat to take seriously. Indeed, in some circles, he's considered a favorite to win the World Cup. With those kinds of odds in his favor, Snape's bound to pose a particularly problematic dilemma for dear old Flitwick.

When it was announced that Megan Fox wouldn't be returning for the third installment of the "Transformers" franchise, many wondered who would be appealing enough to keep the predominantly young male fan base drooling.

Enter Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, the knockout Victoria's Secret model, who is not only stepping off the runway and onto the big screen for her acting debut, but is taking over as the female lead in the billion-dollar franchise, for "Transformers: Dark of the Moon." While we still don't know how her character Carly will stack up against Fox's Mikaela, Rosie has already joined the ranks of models who have made the transition to film.

As we anticipate the 24-year-old beauty's breakout role, we look back at five memorable model's performances on celluloid (hey, it's one of the few times we can actually use "model" and "celluloid" in the same sentence), the good, the bad, and the (coyote) ugly.

GandalfSo sue us, we're about as excited as you can get about Peter Jackson's "The Hobbit" adaptation.

Fortunately for us fans, Empire is too. That's why we're pretty thrilled that "The Hobbit" is gracing the August issue of the mag (out June 30) with some brand new looks at Martin Freeman as Bilbo, Ian McKellen re-donning the gray robes as Gandalf, and tons of inside scoop from the set. It should at least tide us over until the flick's Comic-Con panel.

In the news after the jump, "Prometheus" footage will be screened soon, a "Horrible Bosses" red band trailer hits the web and "Fast & Furious 6" gets a new release date.

There's no shortage of fan-favorite characters in the Privet Drive division, from Neville and McGonagall to the Boy Who Lived himself. But perhaps none have surprised us with such an awesome display of early momentum as Dobby the House Elf, who easily defeated Dean Thomas in the first round. But does Dobby have enough tricks up his sleeve to defeat a member of the Order of the Phoenix?

Voting for all second round match-ups will close on Friday, July 1 at 12:01 AM EST, so make sure to start voting now. You can follow all of the duels right here.

(6) Dobby the House Elf vs. (14) Kingsley Shacklebolt
Few characters in the "Harry Potter" series have warmed our hearts and cooled them in one fell swoop like Dobby has. In addition to being extraordinarily helpful to Harry on his journeys inside and out of Hogwarts' halls, Dobby died a hero's death, one that he should be honored for. But then again, he's going up against the mighty Kingsley Shacklebolt, who defied the odds by defeating three-seed Mad-Eye Moody in the first round of this tournament. Can Dobby's unique brand of mania and magic hold a candle to the future Minister for Magic, or does his road to triumph end here?

Pixar took a brave step in diving into Disney's princess territory, and now we're getting our first peek at whether the attempt has paid off.

It's a pretty tiny peek -- only a minute, to be exact -- but the teaser trailer for "Brave" that ran before "Cars 2" this weekend certainly looks like it has the goods to us. Like "Tangled" and "The Princess and the Frog" before it, Disney has been looking for a strong new princess to warm our hearts for a while now, and it looks like "Brave's" Princess Merida might do just the trick. See her in action by clicking the photo below.

What "Tangled" had and "Brave" is noticeably lacking (so far) is a male lead to try to capture the interest of young male viewers, and by marketing this teaser just on how awesome and strong Merida looks to be, Disney/Pixar is selling us on their confidence that "Brave" is exactly the princess film we've been looking for. The synopsis for "Brave" says that Merida does something to cause turmoil to wreak the Highlands, and it will be up to her to set things right. Her, and not a knight in shining armor.

As round two of the Harry Potter World Cup continues, we move onto an especially brutal battle in the the Privet Drive division. Though both parties cleaved their way through the unlovable Cornelius Fudge and the vicious Fenrir Greyback with little pushback in round one, now fan-favorites Professor McGonagall and Neville Longbottom are up against each other — and you can only pick one of these champions to soldier on into the Sweet 16.

Voting for all second round match-ups will close on Friday, July 1 at 12:01 AM EST, so make sure to start voting now. You can follow all of the duels right here.

(4) Neville Longbottom vs. (5) Professor McGonagall
In one corner you'll find one of Gryffindor's most unlikely heroes, the meek and mild-mannered Neville Longbottom who slowly came out of his shell throughout the course of the "Harry Potter" saga to become one of the series' bravest characters. In the other is Professor Minerva McGonagall, the Gryffindor Head of House, one of Albus Dumbledore's closest allies, a woman who watches over all her students with a firm but kind heart. Picking one winner won't be easy, but it must be done — who moves on? The reluctant hero, or the wizened witch?

Consider us stoked for Tarsem Singh's latest, "Immortals." Between the first trailer we saw and thecharacter posters that were released that week, the film has all the makings of greatness.

Now a new trailer has hit the web and it has underlined everything that we have been looking forward to in this film. Slo-mo CGI-heavy action scenes popularized in "300" but potentially made better here? Check. The beautiful cinematic shots that we've come to expect from Singh's works? Check. A whole lot of Greek mythology to wet our gullet? Check, check, check.

The second round of the Harry Potter World Cup is currently underway, and it's kicking off with the Privet Drive division. After eliminating his "Sorcerer's Stone" nemesis Professor Quirrell in the first round, Harry Potter is looking to do equal amounts of damage to "Chamber of Secrets" villain Lucius Malfoy. But does the Death Eater have some tricks up his sleeve?

Voting for all second round match-ups will close on Friday, July 1 at 12:01 AM EST, so make sure to start voting now. You can follow all of the duels right here.

(1) Harry Potter vs. (8) Lucius Malfoy
Harry had no trouble putting an end to Professor Quirrell's chances at resurrection and World Cup glory, but will the road be as easy when facing Lucius Malfoy? As the father of his number one Hogwarts rival and one of Voldemort's closest allies, Lucius has certainly earned his dangerous reputation. If the Slytherin-loving "Potter" fans come out in full force to support the Death Eater, then perhaps this is the place where the platinum blonde wizard will claim Harry's head for his Dark Lord's wall.

Emma StoneWell that hope was short-lived. Emma Stone is, in fact, not starring in "Pride and Prejudice and Zombies."

Though on Thursday it was reported that Stone was circling the lead for the flick, Deadline has learned that she has decided to pass on the project. That still leaves the film without a lead -- or any -- actress, but hopefully we will hear some casting news soon.

In the casting news after the jump, find out which "Hangover" star is getting his own film, what new movie Liam Hemsworth is starring in, and who the latest actors are to join "Snow White and the Huntsman."
