Benedict CumberbatchAt long last, two of the most important roles in "The Hobbit" have been filled out.

"Immortals" actor Luke Evans will star in Peter Jackson's two-part "Lord of the Rings" prequel as Bard the Bowman, a man of Laketown who fights against the devious dragon Smaug. Speaking of Smaug, Deadline confirms that the previously (and accidentally) revealed Benedict Cumberbatch is providing both the voice and motion-capture for the fire-breathing beast.

The MuppetsIn brightest day, in blackest night, no evil shall escape my puppet. Wait... that's not how it goes...

Forgive the confusion — it's got nothing to do with a lack of comic book know-how, and everything to do with the new teaser trailer for "The Muppets." That's right, the endless parodies from Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear and the gang have continued strong right through this weekend's biggest release, "Green Lantern."

Thank you, Warner Bros., for issuing that final theatrical "Harry Potter" trailer, which basically braces us fans for the most badass thing in existence.

Before this, I would probably have argued that the first "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" trailer released was the best trailer in the whole franchise (and in 2010), but this one blows it out of the water. Maybe I'm biased because they included what I will argue is the most powerful scene in the series in this teaser (hint: Harry walks into the woods), but this is the most cathartic look at the final installment a hardcore "Potter" fan can possibly ask for.

There's a whole lot of new footage in this trailer, but five moments in particular stood out to us. Click on after the jump to see which scenes made our heart beat a bit faster. Be warned, spoilers lie ahead!

Optimus PrimeThe moon will turn dark on June 29 this year, and if you've been paying any attention to the MTV Movies Blog over the past few months, you'll know that's something we're pretty darn excited about.

With the release of "Transformers: Dark of the Moon" less than two weeks away (!!!), IMAX and Paramount have released a brand spanking new IMAX 3D poster exclusively to Fandango, and it looks pretty frakkin' awesome from where we're sitting.

And if you don't think Optimus Prime is giving you one of the most sultry looks we've seen on a poster in recent months, then we might not be able to be friends anymore.

"We're not terrorists!"

So promised Nick Swardson on the set of "30 Minutes or Less," as he and costar Danny McBride attempted to explain what they were doing, just minutes earlier, in a junk yard in Grand Rapids, Michigan, a crossbow in one of their hands and a detonator in another. Take after take, they blew up watermelons with some homebrewed explosives and yelled f-bomb-laden tough talk.

No, terrorists they are not — just misguided fellows with an outlandish idea: kidnap a pizza delivery boy, strap a bomb to his chest and make him rob a bank. And that, in an action-comedy nutshell, is the plot of "30 Minutes," the Ruben Fleischer-directed flick that hits theaters on August 12.

"They're against terrorists. I mean, would you invite these guys over to your house with your family? Probably not," McBride explained. "They just want to be loved. Whether it takes a bomb or bank robbery to get there."

Hugh JackmanMove over Liam Neeson, because Hugh Jackman is slated to be the next man to bring Jean Valjean to the big screen.

The prospect of Brad Pitt and Jonah Hill starring together in a movie has tantalized us since "Moneyball" was first announced, but the first trailer for the film has us officially on board.

The story itself is an intriguing one. Brad Pitt stars as Oakland A's general manager Billy Beane, who has to restructure his team based on a tight budget. He turns to recent Ivy League grad Peter Brand, played by Jonah Hill in a fictionalized version of Paul DePodesta, to help him crunch stats with new computer-generated analysis and chose his team players in a way completely different from the traditional route. It's a gamble that Beane means to win, even if the trailer leads us to believe it isn't all smooth sailing.

It's the best of times and it's the worst of times for "Harry Potter" fans all across the globe. On one hand, we're right on the cusp of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2," a film that's guaranteed to bring beautiful closure to one of the single greatest fantasy franchises of all time. On the other hand, there's that dirty word… closure.

Well, the doors haven't closed yet. Indeed, from where we're sitting, they're wide open — so wide, in fact, that a very important question still lingers: who is the greatest "Harry Potter" character of all time?

We're about to get to the bottom of that question right here at MTV News with the Harry Potter World Cup, a month-long tournament that will have you, the fans, voting to make your voice heard and determine who really is the greatest character in the entire Potterverse. 64 different competitors from all corners of J.K. Rowling's expansive series will enter the ring, but in the end, only one will emerge as the wizarding world's greatest champion.

As announced by James and Oliver Phelps, the real-life counterparts of the prank-happy Weasley Twins, the Harry Potter World Cup launches with first round voting opening on June 20. From there, it'll be round after round of single elimination duels between your favorite wizards and the villains you love to hate, and you'll be there every step of the way voting on which competitor deserves the grand title. The two finalists will be revealed on Monday, July 11, kicking off an intense final duel that'll play out just days before the theatrical release of "Deathly Hallows Part 2" — and the winning wizard will be revealed during MTV News' livestream coverage of the film's red carpet premiere in New York City.

So, what are you waiting for? Get to know the contestants by studying the bracket, start spreading the word on Twitter using the #mtvpottercup hashtag, and get those wands at the ready — only one wizard can be named the champion, and it's all up to you.
