Game of ThronesTitle: "Fire And Blood"

Story: Winter has finally arrived. Picking up immediately from where "Baelor" left off, "Fire and Blood" delivered everything that "Game of Thrones" excels at: political intrigue, a great leap forward on the battlefront, and even the first sincere fantasy outing of the series.

And then there were the dragons.

In the season finale, Dany makes some bold new steps as Khaleesi, Jon Snow takes a long, hard look at his role as a man of the Night's Watch, and Robb Stark becomes the King of the North. Oh, and Sansa and Catelyn actually show some spunk, and Arya is suddenly... a boy?

Harry PotterWelcome to MTV's Harry Potter World Cup! We've selected 64 of the best "Harry Potter" characters and matched them up in a series of duels for a chance at magical glory, but it's up to YOU to decide who the greatest "Potter" character of all time is in this pool of wizards and witches. Will the Death Eaters destroy Hogwarts, or will good triumph over evil? In the end, the choice is yours, so keep voting at MTV Movies Blog and make your voice heard!

You've spent more than a decade obsessing over the "Harry Potter" franchise. You've spent all that time dwelling on the most spectacular spell-casters that J.K. Rowling's expansive universe has to offer. And now, the time has come to determine which of these heroes and villains stands above the pack to claim the title of greatest "Harry Potter" character of all time!

That's right, muggles and magicians alike: the Harry Potter World Cup has finally opened! The first day of voting begins with the launch of the Privet Drive division, offering up at least one clear favorite (you know, the guy we named the tournament after), one of his fiercest rivals and plenty of other worthy contenders. The duels begin now, with the first round closing at midnight on Sunday night (June 27) — so start voting now!

(1) Harry Potter vs. (16) Professor Quirrell
On paper, the tournament's first match-up is a no-brainer. Not only is the Boy Who Lived the protagonist of the "Harry Potter" series and the character that the franchise (and our tournament) is named after, he also already defeated this rival in "The Sorcerer's Stone." But if Professor Quirrell can tap into his inner-Voldemort and muster enough strength and cunning, he could very well earn his vengeance at an impressively early stage.

(8) Lucius Malfoy vs. (9) Gilderoy Lockhart
Both characters made their debut in the "Chamber of Secrets," but only one can advance to the next round. And don't expect this to be a clean fight, either — as one of Lord Voldemort's closest allies, Lucius is apt to break out the killing curse without batting an eyelash. Lockhart, on the other hand, is no stranger to trickery and misdirection; can he keep Lucius distracted enough to move onto the next round?

Having trouble deciding? Consult our Harry Potter World Cup experts from MuggleNet, The Leaky Cauldron and MTV News for their insight!

The Harry Potter World Cup is almost upon us. Voting begins on Monday (June 20), which means you better have a working knowledge of the month-long tournament's bracket by then — or else your favorite character might get knocked out of the wizarding duel straight away!

If you aren't up to speed on the bracket yet, no sweat: the Weasley twins are here to help. "Harry Potter" stars James and Oliver Phelps were kind enough to not only announce the launch of Harry Potter World Cup, but also take a few minutes to analyze the first round of match-ups. Watch their bracket in the video below!

We'll have several other "Potter" experts weighing in on the tournament in the coming days and weeks. I've got some thoughts on the matter myself — check out what I think of the bracket past the jump!

The only thing longer than the title for "Rise of the Planet of the Apes" is the two month wait for "Rise of the Planet of the Apes" that we're still suffering through. Thankfully, 20th Century Fox is making things a little bit easier on us with a new trailer. That's right — another new trailer!

Not that I'm complaining or anything. Round after round after round, the trailers for the new "Apes" movies have converted me from complete skeptic to cautious optimist to, finally, fully committed to the James Franco blockbuster after this new international trailer.

What in the world could J.K. Rowling's Pottermore possibly be?! We'll have to wait five more days to find out for sure, but for now, some new clues have emerged -- and it looks like some of our hunches hold some weight.

Entertainment Weekly reports that the Pottermore trademark was registered by Warner Bros. two years ago as a service that provides "multiple-user access to a global computer information network, [...] on-line chat rooms and electronic bulletin boards for transmission of messages among users in the field of general interest [and] on-line facilities for real-time interaction with other computer users concerning topics of general interest." So, it sounds like it is an interactive social networking experience, perhaps one that does include new stories and an MMORPG of sorts. Nothing definitive yet, sadly, but we're closer to cracking the code!

Alright, enough Pottermore (for now, not forever). Let's take a look at what else is popping around the movies blogosphere after the jump!

"Harry Potter" fans have been slammed with trailer after trailer, photo after photo, poster after poster, but it's all finally barreling to a close: the final "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2" trailer has arrived, and you know what that means — it's all about to end.

Well, it isn't all about to end — you still have the Harry Potter World Cup to look forward to, and it seems that J.K. Rowling has some magic tricks up her sleeve in the form of Pottermore — but still, this is the final "Potter" trailer… and it certainly delivers one heck of an exclamation mark on one of the most storied fantasy franchises of all time.

To mark the occasion, MTV News' deputy managing editor Eric Ditzian and I got together and recorded a commentary track for the final "Harry Potter" trailer of all time. Click the video below to watch.

We identified a whole host of behind-the-scenes facts and Easter Eggs for your perusal, including an obligatory tip of the hat to Gary Oldman's fantastic mustache. I won't spoil the specifics of everything else that we covered — you'll have to watch the video to hear our extended comments — but I do want to go back to one word that we kept using over and over throughout our commentary… "epic."

PrometheusDespite the fact that production on "Prometheus" is in full swing, we still don't know much of anything about Ridley Scott's revisit to his "Alien" beginnings.

We know that the cast is pretty killer, featuring star Noomi Rapace, Charlize Theron, Michael Fassbender, Idris Elba and newest addition Guy Pearce. We also know that while there will be plenty of "Alien"-esque nods and imprints in the film, Scott and backing studio Fox have assured us that it is not a prequel, sequel or reboot.

There are still so many things we don't know however, so at the off chance we encounter folks working on or around the film, it is our duty as film fans and journalists to pepper him/her with questions, like when we ran into 'Prometheus" creature designer Neville Page earlier this week and asked him how he's approaching the alien design on the film.

"Green Lantern" hits movie theaters today, bringing the longtime DC Comics superhero to the big screen for the very first time. Ryan Reynolds stars as Hal Jordan, a cocky fighter pilot who reluctantly accepts a powerful ring from a dying alien that transforms him into a member of the Green Lantern Corps, an intergalactic peace-keeping force with the ability to create wildly imaginative constructs and bend matter to their own willpower's greatest extent. "Gossip Girl" and "The Town" actress Blake Lively stars alongside Reynolds as Carol Ferris, a fellow pilot, one of Hal's closest confidants and, of course, his potential love interest.

Needless to say, the very concept of "Green Lantern" raises a lot of questions. Our pals at Splash Page have answered more than their fair share from identifying Hal's greatest foes to pinpointing "Green Lantern" Easter Eggs. But today, we're asking Reynolds and Lively different questions. Like, is Serena van deer Woodsen a stupid name? Does Reynolds have better abs than Ryan Gosling?

The answers to all of those pseudo-pressing questions and more rest in this week's edition of MTV After Hours. Enjoy, and let us know what you think in the comments section and on Twitter!

PottermoreUnless you've been hiding in the depths of Mad Eye Moody's magical trunk, then you already know that this has been quite a wild week for "Harry Potter" fans. In addition to the launch of MTV's Harry Potter World Cup and the release of the final — yes, you read that correctly, the finaltrailer for "Deathly Hallows Part 2," there was a curious tease from "Potter" author Jo Rowling about… well, more "Potter."

Here's what we know: Rowling's big reveal is called Pottermore. The full details come to light in less than a week. Scholastic says that the announcement does not involve a new book. So what could it be, then?

Surprise, surprise — we've got some guesses. Good ones, too. Check out five Pottermore possibilities past the jump!

Attack the Block"Attack the Block," easily one of the most buzzed-about films in recent memory thanks to its film festival presence over the past year, is finally facing a wide-scale release thanks to Screen Gems. The film's a genre bender in the purest sense of the term: it's got science fiction, it's got comedy and, most relevantly to this particular column, it's chock full of horror.

If you're not already up to "Attack" speed, we can catch you up quite a bit, thanks to the recently released red-band trailer for the film. You'll find that trailer, plus updates on the "Human Centipede" sequel and more, past the jump. Welcome to this week's Horror Bites.
