For those of you waiting with bated breath to see if William Shatner would make a cameo appearance in the upcoming "Star Trek 2," the former Capt. Kirk shot down those hopes over the weekend at a fan expo. Over and out.
Trek Movie was reporting from the Calgary Expo in Canada when a fan asked Shatner whether we would finally see him reprise the Kirk role in the upcoming "Star Trek" film. "I've become an acquaintance of J.J. [Abrams] of late," he answered, "but, I'm afraid no, no, I will not be in 'Star Trek 2'." But maybe if some sort of event triggers an alternate universe from our own, there might be a chance. (Hey, a girl can dream!)

"The Hobbit" Gets A New Woodland Elf
Peter Jackson posted some new casting updates to "The Hobbit" Facebook page, including the news that "Lost" vet Evangeline Lilly has come on board as a new character to the adaptation, the Woodland Elf Tauriel (aka, "daughter of Mirkwood" in elvish). Don't worry, "Rings" fans, because Jackson made assurances she would not be there to start a romantic relationship with Legolas. Also announced is Barry Humphries at the Goblin King, who Jackson said would be created in much the same way Andy Serkis portrayed Gollum.
Two More Converted To "The Master"
According to Variety, John Close and Fiona Dourif are the latest actors to be converted to Paul Thomas Anderson's religious drama, "The Master." The film is currently shooting in Sacramento, and stars Phillip Seymour Hoffman as a man who begins a faith-based belief system similar to Scientology. Close will play one of his main disciples, and Dourif's role is still a mystery.
Channing Tatum To Head To Russia
Channing Tatum is turning into one busy man. Collider got the news that he has signed on to Eric Nazarian and Sergei Bodrov's pitch "Blood Brothers," and will also produce the flick. Details are scarce on it at the moment, but the movie is being promoted as a suspenseful thriller set in Russia.
