Harry PotterLess than two months until the end finally comes, my fellow "Harry Potter" enthusiasts.

A second TV spot for "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2," as well as a new poster, has hit the web, and it focuses on the two things we are most excited for in the final installment of the "Potter" franchise: the final battle and Severus Snape. For those of you not keeping track, this has been a repeated effort on the part of Warner Bros. to give the fans what they are most interested in, first exhibited in the second full-length "Deathly Hallows: Part 2" trailer.

So what we get in this minute-long TV spot is a very concise look at what we are most excited about in the last "Potter" film, something we are far from complaining about.

Over the past year, I have had no less than a dozen conversations with folks about the finale of "Lost" ... the cyclical beauty of that final shot, the poignant symbolism of the stained glass window (it's all about the bardo, dude), the high-minded concepts like sacrifice and interconnectedness and destiny that it espoused. I have nodded and sipped my drink politely, listened intently, perhaps even interjected occasionally. But at the end of each and every one of those conversations, I found myself more confused than I was when it began, mostly because I couldn't believe anyone actually liked the way the show ended.

So, at the risk of upsetting Damon Lindelof (something that is surprisingly easy to do), I would like to go on record as saying that the finale of "Lost" was absolutely terrible. I hated it when it first aired and now, exactly one year later, I think I hate it even more.

Why? Well, there are several reasons...

The first trailer for "The Muppets" has finally arrived, and... well, it isn't exactly what we were expecting, but in a fascinating way.

Disney has clearly taken a different approach than usual to marketing "The Muppets." The just released trailer actually spends most of its time setting up the movie within "The Muppets," called "Green With Envy." But don't worry, Kermit and the gang aren't far behind!

Daniel Radcliffe is fast becoming a New Yorker.

The "Harry Potter" superstar is currently living it up (and working extremely hard) in the Big Apple through his stage work headlining the Broadway revival of "How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying." Because of that project, Dan is getting to experience all of the unique wonders that New York has to offer — from top-notch pizza to easily enraged taxi cab drivers (and the even more frustrating issue of people traffic) and everything in between.

But even as Dan gets more and more acquainted with New York City, does that make him a New York City expert? We're not so sure — at least, we weren't so sure, not until MTV After Hours host Josh Horowitz sat down with the MTV Movie Awards nominee to quiz him on all things New York.

There are two types of people in this world: those who liked the "Lost" finale and those who didn’t. I happen to be one of the brave few who not only appreciated the ending of one of the most seminal shows in television history, but thought it was perfect. Yes, perfect.

My question to you as a "Lost" fan is this: what did you really expect? Did you really think that every single element of the plot would be divulged and explained? That every convoluted twist and turn of "Lost's" intricate mythology would be made whole? This would be an impossible feat of finale engineering.

Really, what "Lost" is about, time travel and donkey wheels aside, is a group of people stranded on an island attempting to ward off their demons while surviving the most harrowing of situations. What the finale delivered was closure -- and it delivered it in spades.

LostJokes about the Rapture have come and gone, but a very real crisis is ongoing in Joplin, Missouri as a devastating tornado tore through the Midwest over the weekend. Movie stars, writers and directors are weighing in on Twitter with pointers on how you can help with disaster relief.

In less grim news, today marks the one year anniversary of the "Lost" series finale, causing many members of the show as well as onlookers to reflect back on what was undoubtedly one of the most controversial conclusions in television history.

I'm @roundhoward and this is Twitter-Wood for May 23, 2011.

Pirates of the CaribbeanFROM MTV MOVIES: Pirate Jack Sparrow's latest box-office booty was something of a mixed bag.

Disney's "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides," featuring Johnny Depp's return to the unconventional sea captain role that added blockbuster power to his already formidable artistic credibility, broke international box-office records and enjoyed the highest opening of the year in America over the weekend, though it fell short of the franchise's previous two sequels both critically and commercially.

The first "Pirates of the Caribbean" flick, 2003's "The Curse of the Black Pearl," was a hit with critics, but each of its three sequels has been met with increasing disdain. "On Stranger Tides" has hit a franchise low, with just 34 percent of critics approving of the picture, according to movie-review site Rotten Tomatoes.

The new "Pirates" movie's $90.1 million domestic take (which includes an extra boost from higher-priced 3D showings) was much less than the respective $115 million and $135 million openings of the previous sequels, though the film's $256.3 million international bounty overtook that of "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince," which set the previous overseas all-time box-office record in 2009.

The Tree of LifeTerrence Malick's "The Tree of Life" opened at Cannes to a mixed chorus of cheers and boos, but there's no split decision here.

The Cannes Film Festival jury, headed up by Robert De Niro, has awarded the highly coveted Palme d'Or to "Tree of Life," bestowing Malick's most recent effort with the festival's top prize a full year after it was supposed to appear in competition. The result is a bit of a surprise, as many spectators identified the buzzworthy "We Need to Talk about Kevin" and "The Artist" as top contenders for the prize.

See who else emerged victorious at Cannes past the jump!

Tom CruiseDisney managed to avoid it, but Universal and Tom Cruise won't escape "Oblivion."

The movie studio and "Mission Impossible" star have committed to making the $100 million science fiction epic "Oblivion" from "Tron Legacy" director Joseph Kosinski, reports Deadline. Production is set to start in October on the film about an apocalyptic future where mankind has moved into the clouds over an uninhabitable surface. Cruise plays a soldier who works alone on the surface, where he meets a beautiful woman and begins questioning everything he knows.

There's more casting news past the jump, including new additions to "The Dark Knight Rises" and a new project for "Hunger Games" actress Jennifer Lawrence!

There's a numerical sequence in "Lost" lore that has great significance for the overarching plot and the characters themselves: 4, 8, 15, 16, 23, 42. But for the fans, there's a different sequence with perhaps even greater significance: 5/23.

One year ago today, on May 23, 2011, "Lost" delivered "The End." The series finale, written by co-showrunners and devoted defenders of the light Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse, brought an end to six years worth of frequently controversial and always debatable subject matter revolving around time travel, science versus faith and other bizarre topics.

Whether you loved it or you hated it, chances are good that you felt strongly one way or the other regarding "Lost's" ending. In celebration of the completed show's one year anniversary, MTV News reached out to several expert commentators in the "Lost" community for their perspective on "The End."
