What a long, strange trip it's been since the first "Hangover" film dropped in 2009. Who could predict that an original comedy starring three mid-level actors would gross hundreds of millions around the world, or that it would become the new standard of bromance comedy, or that you'd actually want to drink more after seeing where alcohol had led the wolf-pack?

But less surprising is how the careers of the actors involved have taken off. Almost all of the primary actors in "The Hangover" have found increased success in the biz, whether it's as action stars, comedic bit players, or reality TV stars.

How far have they come, and where are they going? Find out after the jump!

Ever since he graced the screen with his chiseled good looks and cocky swagger in "The Social Network," Armie Hammer has become quite a hot Hollywood commodity - and deservedly so. Who doesn't love his "I'm 6'5," 220 pounds and there are two of me" line?

The sudden superstar has three buzzworthy projects on his docket: "J. Edgar," Tarsem's "Snow White," and "The Lone Ranger," so when MTV News ran into him the other night at the Young Hollywood Awards, we asked him for some details about the newest roles: Prince Andrew Alcott and the the Lone Ranger.

The first question I asked was the most important: How dreamy is his Prince Charming?

"How dreamy is he? Dreeea-my," Hammer promised. "Let's just say they're going to have to change the rating," he joked, before getting serious to talk about the reason he signed onto the project: Director Tarsem Singh.

It all ends on July 15, but hey, that's still almost two full months away — plenty of time to get good and full on your daily dose of "Harry Potter" news.

Today comes a brand new interview with none other than Ron Weasley himself, actor Rupert Grint, who spoke with Empire Magazine about his work on the "Harry Potter" saga, particularly the upcoming "Deathly Hallows" conclusion. Watching Rupert's on-screen transformation over the years has been fascinating for audiences, and it's no less interesting for the actor himself, who excitedly observed his character's evolution over the course of J.K. Rowling's epic novel series.

"In previous films Ron was usually quite scared all the time, that was always kind of him, but it was great to see that there was a lot more heavy emotion," he explained. "Because he really falls in love, so there's all that story, and that really develops in Part Two particularly. And then there's the family stuff as well. There are some quite dark things that I never really got before with Ron."

'The Hangover Part II'By Stefan Doyno

It will take more than a facial tattoo to get rid of this "Hangover."

Back in April, we heard some talk of a tattoo artist trying to stop the release of "The Hangover: Part II" because his famous work (which can be seen, in real life and in the original film, on the face of Mike Tyson), was used without permission on Ed Helm's mug in the sequel. He even went so far as to file a lawsuit in federal court.

The award-winning artist S. Victor Whitmill, who designed the tribal tattoo in 2003, claimed in the suit that Warner Bros. violated his copyright, while the studio argued the facial tat was reproduced under the "fair use" provision. In other words, WB and its lawyers argued, it's parody, dude! All this drama had the possibility of halting the release date, which is set for Thursday May 26...until, that is, a few hours ago.

On Tuesday (May 24), a judge denied Whitmill's motion for an injunction to prevent the film's release, though the suit itself was not dismissed. Following the move, Warner Bros. released a statement saying, "We are very gratified by the Court’s decision which will allow the highly anticipated film, 'The Hangover: Part II,' to be released on schedule this week around the world." The studio also called Whitmill's attempt to obtain a massive settlement "highly inappropriate and unwarranted."

Geoffrey Gerber, the plaintiff's attorney, said in a statement that they were "disappointed" the motion was denied but found pleasure in the fact that "Judge Perry's findings that Mr. Whitmill proved a 'strong likelihood of success' on the merits and that most of Warner Bros. defenses were 'just silly.' "

If you ask us, adding a copyright logo to Mike Tyson's face would have helped avoid this legal mess.

Pirates of the CaribbeanFROM MTV MOVIES: While "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides" opened to $90.1 million this weekend, showing the franchise has perhaps sprung a leak domestically in its fourth installment, the new film set a five-day international opening record of $256.3 million.

Disney is reportedly convinced this latest "Pirates" could pass the $654 million international total for 2007's "At World's End." The takeaway from all this box-office chatter is we likely haven't seen the last of the swashbuckling series.

In fact, development on a fifth film is already under way, with a draft of a script from Terry Rossio, who also penned "On Stranger Tides," in the hands of Disney execs and both director Rob Marshall and producer Jerry Bruckheimer signaling their interest in returning to franchise. The question, however, is whether or not star Johnny Depp will reprise his role as Jack Sparrow.

Bob DylanTwitter-Wood kicks off today with a big birthday shout-out to music legend Bob Dylan, who turned 70 years old today, and we're not the only ones sending him birthday wishes, either; several people in the film community have tipped their tweets in the "Like a Rolling Stone" singer-songwriter's direction on his big day.

Elsewhere, comedy mastermind Judd Apatow and "Breaking Dawn" star Jamie Campbell Bower revealed a little bit too much about their personal lives (though the laughs we're still fighting off should tell you that we're not complaining), two recent comedies get some new appraisals and Diablo Cody pours one out for her Showtime series "The United States of Tara," which was canceled yesterday.

I'm @roundhoward and this is Twitter-Wood for May 24, 2011.

He can kill a Basilisk, calm down a werewolf and win a Triwizard Tournament while still acing all of his exams; he can match wits and wands with the fiercest sorcerer in all the land and move onto singing and dancing on Broadway in one fell swoop. Truthfully, when you think about it, there isn't much that Daniel Radcliffe can't do — except star in a show and field Jason Sudeikis at the same time.

As the 2011 MTV Movie Awards host moves on from his Leighton Meester encounter to meet the "Harry Potter" star — who just so happens to be one of this year's Best Actor nominees for his magical turn in "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1" — Sudeikis has found himself locked in an awkward moment with the affable but extremely busy Radcliffe, currently starring in the Broadway revival of "How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying." And we mean current, as in now. The "Saturday Night Live" comedian has pure enough intentions as he brings Radcliffe a free-of-charge order of Chinese food, but the timing… well, it could be better. Watch the video below and see it for yourself.

The 2011 MTV Movie Awards are coming your way on June 5 at 9/8 PM central.

Lenny Kravitz"The Hunger Games" casting process hasn't been entirely unpredictable, but I doubt many of you saw this one coming.

Lionsgate has announced that rocker Lenny Kravitz is joining the cast in the brief but memorable role of Cinna, the thoughtful and innovative stylist who works with Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) and Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) as they prepare themselves for the do-or-die games. Hollywood Crush points out that this isn't Kravitz's first big-screen gig; he had a nice, small part in the Oscar-winning "Precious" in 2009.

In addition to Kravitz, it looks like Toby Jones has found himself in "The Hunger Games" as well. Deadline reports that the "Captain America" and "Harry Potter" actor is playing a host/narrator of the games alongside the previously cast Stanley Tucci.

There's more casting news today besides these latest "Hunger Games" additions, so click past the jump for the latest additions to "The Dark Knight Rises" and a whole lot more!

Sherlock HolmesAlthough production is already well under way with a bit of a break just on the horizon, the cast of "The Hobbit" still requires some filling out. Many smaller roles remain open and even some key characters, too — and director Peter Jackson doesn't need to look much further than his very own star for his newest actor.

Case in point: it's been revealed that Benedict Cumberbatch, who plays the titular lead on the BBC television series "Sherlock Holmes" opposite "Hobbit" star Martin Freeman as Watson, is joining the cast of Jackson's two-part "Lord of the Rings" prequel.
