"Toy Story 3" gets the awards-season glory, "Shrek" stands as the most successful animated series of all-time, but I confess one of my favorite CGI flicks of the last several years remains 2008's "Kung Fu Panda." Even when I catch snippets on TV, Jack Black's wild, panda abandon never gets old. The fight sequences manage to be both creative and LOL-inducing. And, as my 10-year-old cousin can attest, there's a potent moral hidden within that's a bit cheesy but also super truthful.

But in breaking down a film into a cinematic laundry list, we shouldn't miss the overall point: as a whole, "Kung Fu Panda" is just so much darn fun. And that's exactly what the sequel is too: a blast. Here are five reasons why you need to check out "Kung Fu Panda 2."

HalloweenWith "Drive Angry" due out on DVD and Blu-Ray Tuesday and "Hellraiser" as the next project on their list, it looks like fans waiting to see director Patrick Lussier and writer Todd Farmer's take on the "Halloween" franchise will have to wait a couple more years. But when MTV News caught up with the directing/writing duo to talk the "Drive Angry" DVD release, they said that their planned "Halloween 3" is definitely still on their radar.

Farmer has completed the script already and they are in talks with the Weinstein company to make the movie, but Lussier said the time just hasn't been right to bring the film to production yet.

"We would love it to go through," Lussier said. "We would make that the second somebody said, 'Yes, go make it,' because it's a script that we love and a script we're really passionate about and it's an amazing character and an incredible franchise, and it would just be a great experience for us to go back to the roots."

The Fuzzy Pack is most certainly backy-back.

The first official trailer for "The Muppets" landed earlier this week and took many of us off guard with its strong emphasis on human leads Jason Segel and Amy Adams. Indeed, under the guise of "Green with Envy," you would have been forgiven for not realizing this was a trailer for "The Muppets" at all — until Kermit and the gang shows up towards the end, that is.

Now, another new "Muppets" trailer has arrived, and just like last time, it looks like disorientation is the name of the game — or, more precisely, Disney is looking to give you a massive "Hangover."

"Transformers: Dark of the Moon" is barely over a month away from crash landing into theaters, bringing Michael Bay's action-packed trilogy to a stunning conclusion. And, yes, while some people aren't particularly wild about "Revenge of the Fallen" — Bay included, based on his own assessment — everything we've seen on the "Dark of the Moon" front has us feeling enthusiastic.

Case in point: the footage. We've had three different trailers to marvel over, and now we can add two new TV spots to the pile. Bay unveiled this pair of 30-second glimpses at "Dark of the Moon" on his official website this week, giving fans two more reasons to believe the hype.

After diffusing bombs alongside Jeremy Renner in "The Hurt Locker" and helping Hugh Jackman with boxing robots in next year's "Real Steel," rising star Anthony Mackie is getting back into the action with the currently shooting "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter." But the historical vampire fiction adaptation won't be the last time Mackie gets his hands bloody, if rumors are to be believed.

Mackie's name has been mentioned in connection with two promising projects — "World War Z," a post-apocalyptic zombie tale starring Brad Pitt, and "Gangster Squad," the Ryan Gosling and Josh Brolin-starring 1940s gangster flick set up at Warner Bros. But when MTV News spoke with Mackie on the set of "Abraham Lincoln" last month, the actor kept his lips sealed on whether or not he's actually involved in either project.

"I don't know man," the cagey Mackie told MTV when asked about "World War Z," adding with a laugh, "I will work for food."

Alan RickmanSaying goodbye isn't easy. Every "Harry Potter" fan around the world is about to learn that lesson the hard way, if they haven't already.

But it's not just "Harry Potter" fans that are struggling through mixed emotions as the series barrels towards its conclusion this summer: it's the actors as well. Alan Rickman, who stars in the franchise as the chronically misunderstood potions master Severus Snape, had quite a lot to say about the ending of "Potter" in a new issue of Empire Magazine (via BuzzFeed), addressing author J.K. Rowling specifically in a letter crafted for her (and the public's) eyes.

"The Office" bid Steve Carell's bumbling Michael Scott goodbye this season. In the process, they lost someone to take the reins at the Scranton Dundler-Mifflin branch, TV's most distinguished paper selling company. Several candidates were interviewed in the show's season finale (Will Arnett, Ray Romano, Jim Carrey, Ricky Gervaise and Warren Buffett among the candidates), but the question of who will get the job still remains unanswered… though perhaps the answer is just a "Hangover" away.

When MTV News caught up with Ed Helms at the premiere of "The Hangover Part II," he weighed in on what might happen next season.

J.J. AbramsGood news and bad news, "Star Trek" fans.

Let's start with the good: it's looking very likely that J.J. Abrams will once again sit in the captain's chair for "Star Trek 2," Deadline reports. But there's a downside: the script for the sequel isn't complete — only a 70-page outline exists at the moment — and it's looking extremely unlikely that "Trek" will hit its targeted June 2012 release date. Now, the movie is likely looking at a Holiday 2012 release instead.
