Over the course of three (soon to be four) "Pirates of the Caribbean" movies, we've seen the likes of Captain Jack Sparrow, his merry band of pirate pals and even his most cutthroat foes battle their way through extraordinary circumstances involving undead privateers, legendary sea creatures and man-eating tribal warriors.

So, really, in the grand scheme of things — Sparrow versus the wonderful world of Legos? Piece of cake.

For your viewing enjoyment, MTV News has created a fantastic stop-motion recreation of the "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides" trailer using — you guessed it — Legos! Every scene from the action-packed trailer comes back to life here, albeit in a significantly more yellow and blocky flavor than you're probably used to.

Things aren't looking good for "The Dark Tower," Ron Howard's ambitious film trilogy and television adaptation of Stephen King's best-selling novel series. After getting off to a nice start with Oscar-winning actor Javier Bardem in the lead role of Roland Deschain, it now appears that the plug might be pulled over rising budget costs and some creative concerns.

But until official word comes down the line telling us that the Gunslinger's journey is completely off the table, we'll keep our eyes out for future "Dark Tower" developments... which brings us to today's tease of a potential new cast member.

Casting rumors are a dime a dozen these days, so when we were browsing "The Walking Dead" star Norman Reedus' IMDB page last week, we didn't pay too much mind to his supposed attachment to "The Dark Tower" as recovering junkie turned gunslinger Eddie Dean. We caught up with the actor and gave him the opportunity to shoot down the rumor, but instead, Reedus only fanned the fire.

It won't be long now until Captain Jack Sparrow returns to the high seas, as "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides" washes ashore on May 20, 2011. But director Rob Marshall's first time sailing with "Pirates" trades out old staples like the Will Turner and Elizabeth Swann love story in favor of a new adventure filled with zombies, mermaids and Blackbeard. Will it work? Will fans embrace the new landscape, or will they force this latest installment to walk the plank?

We'll get that answer in a few short weeks, but in the meantime, you can start forming your impressions based on four new video clips featuring scenes from "On Stranger Tides." Click the video above to see them all, and read more about them after the jump!

Thor"Thor" brought all of its signature lightning to bear upon moviegoers this weekend, lighting up the box office with an impressive $66 million debut. Though some had their issues with Marvel's latest superhero release, many of the actors and writers lurking about Twitter-Wood expressed their overall satisfaction with the Asgardian adventure.

While it was "Thor" that dominated the box office, Mother's Day took plenty of deserved attention for itself. Several Hollywood players were celebrating the holiday for themselves, while others offered some dirty (but good-natured) jokes instead of well-wishes.

Plus, who didn't much care for "The Beaver"? The answer to that and more rests past the jump.

I'm @roundhoward and this is Twitter-Wood for May 9, 2011.

Final Destination 5Thankfully someone came to their senses and ditched the pervy-looking "5nal Destination" title (don't act like you don't know what I'm talking about), and now we can focus on all the badass death scenes that surely await the new victims of "Final Destination 5." In fact, we were so excited to see a group of kids tortured by Death and shuffle off this mortal coil in the most horrifying of ways, that we made a list of five of the most hair-raising Death teasers in the new trailer.

This time around, a group of suspension bridge collapse survivors have to tango with the Grim Reaper, and as usual, they won't have an easy time of it. Between the eye gore and sharp things that want to slice and dice, it's not looking pretty. Check out the massacre after the jump.

ThorFROM MTV MOVIES: The "god of thunder" stormed the box office over the weekend as comic book fans and other moviegoers rained $66 million upon theaters to see "Thor." The latest big-screen adaptation of a beloved Marvel Comics superhero, this one drawn from Norse mythology, kicked off the summer movie season as the #1 movie in America, according to studio estimates.

Alas, a pair of romantic comedies proved to be no match against Thor's power. "Jumping the Broom" opened at #3 with $13.7 million, while "Something Borrowed," based on Emily Giffin's best-selling novel, is in fourth place with $13.1 million. Co-starring rom-com veteran Kate Hudson, "Borrowed" was far behind the $21.1 million her "Bride Wars" took in when it opened in 2009, or the similar numbers generated by "Fool's Gold" the year before.

"Thor" launches a potential franchise for Disney-owned Marvel Studios and serves as yet another piece of the comic-book-like continuity tapestry leading to 2012's "The Avengers." That ambitious movie recently started shooting and will unite Thor with Marvel heroes like Iron Man (Robert Downey, Jr.), Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) and Captain America (Chris Evans), whose own movie arrives on July 22. "Thor" benefited greatly from the critic-approved charisma of newcomer Chris Hemsworth in the title role and the Shakespearean sensibilities of director Kenneth Branagh. Technology didn't hurt, either, as roughly 60 percent of the film's business came courtesy of 3-D.

Django UnchainedFile this under unexpected and potentially amazing: Quentin Tarantino wants Will Smith to star in his next film, "Django Unchained."

The Hollywood Reporter and Variety both report that Smith has an informal offer to star in Tarantino's upcoming Western as a slave-turned-bounty hunter looking to save his wife from a slavedriver. Nothing's official yet, though Tarantino reportedly wrote the screenplay with Smith in mind. Beyond Smith, it looks like "Inglourious Basterds" star Chrisoph Waltz is indeed closing in on the project as Dr. King Schultz, the film's other lead, while Samuel L. Jackson is also circling the role of Stephen, the man servant of the chief antagonist.

Whether or not Smith signs for "Django," there's plenty of other casting news for us to chew on. After the jump, find out which "X-Men: First Class" star is on board for Danny Boyle's latest, who's joining the cast of "Powers" and more.

Game of ThronesEpisode Title: "Cripples, Bastards and Broken Things"

Story: As the title of this episode suggests, this episode centers on three of our favorite characters: Tyrion (Peter Dinklage), Bran (Isaac Hempstead-Wright) and Jon (Kit Harrington). But the bastards extend into Ned's (Sean Bean) story as well as he investigates what the former King's Hand, Jon Arryn, was doing before his death -- and it turns out that King Robert (Mark Addy) knows a thing or two about bastards.

At the Wall, Jon continues to dominate his class of Night's Watch recruits, but picks up a new friend in the form of Samwell Tarly (John Bradley). The Hand's Tourney finally starts up in a gruesome jousting contest that tests Sansa's (Sophie Turner) ability to withstand violence, and Catelyn Tully (Michelle Fairley) finds an unsuspecting suspect along the Kingsroad. Elsewhere, across the Narrow Sea, Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) finally, finally stands up to her nasty elder brother, Viserys (Harry Lloyd).
