Chris HemsworthIt's official — that Chris Hemsworth fella is a bona fide movie star.

The "Thor" actor has enjoyed two back-to-back weeks in first place at the box office, and he's certainly seeing some rewards: Deadline reports that Hemsworth's deal for "Snow White and the Huntsman" has officially closed, locking him into the starring role opposite "Twilight" favorite Kristen Stewart. Definitely an exciting next step for both the rising star as well as the project itself, which has struggled to find its Huntsman for some time now.

ThorFROM MTV MOVIES: "Thor" held on to the top spot at the box office over the weekend while runner-up "Bridesmaids" surpassed industry expectations with an impressive $24.4 million debut, according to studio estimates.

Meanwhile, the new post-apocalyptic vampire film "Priest" floundered and a pair of indie flicks in limited release, "Everything Must Go" and "Hesher," posted up low per-screen averages.

Based on the Marvel Comics hero drawn from Norse mythology, "Thor" earned $34.5 million in its second weekend of release for a total take of $119.2 million. The action flick, starring Chris Hemsworth in the title role, helps set the stage for this summer's "The Avengers." It has earned $225 million worldwide.

Ninety percent of critics loved "Bridesmaids," according to Rotten Tomatoes, and the positive word of mouth generated since the film's South by Southwest festival screenings contributed to its number two placement. "Saturday Night Live" veterans Kristen Wiig and Maya Rudolph lead an ensemble cast in the Judd Apatow-produced R-rated comedy, whose drawing power was underestimated by most industry analysts.

Game of ThronesEpisode Title: "The Wolf and the Lion"

Story: The Hand's Tourney is underway with a showdown between The Mountain, Ser Gregor Clegane, and the Knight of Flowers, Ser Loras. Ned remains distracted by the conspiracy surrounding Jon Arryn's death, and Varys the Spider reveals a poisonous detail — but this new information doesn't help Ned's cause any more than his quest for the king's bastards. Worse still, based on what Arya overhears while chasing cats, Ned's time as the King's Hand is running out.

Meanwhile, Catelyn continues her journey with Tyrion up to the Eyrie to present him to her sister, Lysa, but the reunion does not go quite as she expected. And when word of Tyrion's kidnapping reaches King's Landing, the Imp's brother Jaime reacts very, very poorly.

BridesmaidsFROM MTV MOVIES: Call it a Judd Apatow-for-chicks comedy or his laugh factory's finest effort since 2007's "Knocked Up" — and many critics have done both — but the bottom line is people have been loving "Bridesmaids" in early screenings.

Produced by Apatow, directed by Paul Feig and starring "Saturday Night Live" star Kristen Wiig, "Bridesmaids" opened Friday (May 13), and while it won't duel with "Thor" for the top box-office spot, it does have the distinction of being one of the most critically adored major releases of the year (currently 91 percent fresh on the Rotten Tomatoes review aggregator). Critics have lauded the film's consistent laughs, Wiig for her breakout big-screen turn and the cast of uproarious supporting players. Read on for those critiques and more in our "Bridesmaids" review roundup.

The Story
"Wiig stars as Annie, the increasingly unhinged maid of honor for her best friend Lillian's (Maya Rudolph) upcoming up-market wedding. They are surrounded by an ensemble of witty twisted sisters who come in all shapes and sizes (both the wit and the sisters, the unrelated kind, just 'doin' it for themselves'), and a director in Paul Feig, who displays a lot of comedic common sense. This creative collective includes most notably Rose Byrne ('Damages') and Melissa McCarthy ('Mike & Molly'), with Wendi McLendon-Covey ('Reno 911!') and Ellie Kemper ('The Office') as the other merry maids. They all work hard to wring the most nonsense out of the clever script. ... The story swings between Annie's everyday struggles and a string of increasingly outrageous wedding plan fiascos [but] what distinguishes the film is the way in which the women relate and the raunch is handled." — Betsy Sharkey, The Los Angeles Times

TerminatorThe biggest news to come out of Cannes today concerns our future: specifically, the post apocalyptic "Terminator" series is going indie.

Or, at least it's been purchased by "indie savior" Megan Ellison, who Deadline is estimating spent around $20 million to acquire the rights to the "Terminator" franchise. Considering that Ellison's Annapruna Films is behind Kathryn Bigelow's "Kill Bin Laden" and Paul T. Anderson's next picture, her involvement is nothing but good news for the developing "Terminator" sequel.

In the news after the jump, "Dark Shadows" gets a release date, a major star stays on board for "Rock of Ages" and the first shot of Bruce Willis in Rian Johnson's "Looper" hits the web.

Friday the 13thToday's your unlucky day, and we want you to celebrate the occasion with us by checking out five of the most memorable moments in "Friday the 13th" history. The classic slasher series that stalked camp counselors and horny teenagers into the woods is synonymous with today's legendary date. The series' baddie, Jason Voorhees, has sliced and diced his way through the camp grounds of Crystal Lake, New York City, and even space to seek revenge against the neglectful camp counselors who made out while he drowned.

Whether you're superstitious, a horror junkie, or find yourself inexplicably drawn to a mute man-child wearing a hockey mask, here are a few things we love to wax nostalgic about "Friday the 13th."

Ashton KutcherIt's official: Ashton Kutcher is replacing Charlie Sheen on "Two and a Half Men." The "That '70s Show" actor teased his involvement late last night on Twitter, which prompted a flurry of cheers and jeers from several of his Hollywood peers. Winning? We'll see.

Speaking of winning, "Bridesmaids" hits theaters this weekend, and people are rightfully excited to see the Kristen Wiig-starring comedy. Reviews have been glowing and praise from celebs in the Twitter-Wood community continues to flow.

TransformersUPDATE: Paramount has reached out to us and confirmed that The Twins are NOT in "Transformers: Dark of the Moon." No Skids, no Mudflap, no problem. Our original report is below.

You thought you were safe. You thought it was over. You thought they were gone. But you were wrong.

Well… maybe.

Multiple reports are surfacing online that despite Michael Bay's statements to the contrary, "Transformers: Dark of the Moon" will indeed feature the two most controversial characters from the critically-ravaged "Revenge of the Fallen." I'm talking, of course, about Skids and Mudflap, better known as the Twins.

Some new photos that are allegedly from the set of "Dark of the Moon" have surfaced online, seemingly depicting an upgraded version of Mudflap and Skids. Ironically enough, these new photos first appeared just a few short hours after Bay himself took to his website and definitively declared: "The Twins are not back in T3."

We've been waiting a good long while for the trailer for "Fright Night," Craig Gillespie's remake of the 1985 horror comedy classic. Well, it's finally here, just in time for Friday the 13th!

IGN scored the exclusive first look at the trailer for "Fright Night," a two-and-a-half minute thrill ride that's heavy on the action and horror, but not as much on the laughs. If it's tongue-in-cheek comedy you're looking for, this trailer indicates that you're barking up the wrong tree. But if it's deadly and dangerous vampires you're in need of, looks like "Fright Night" has you covered.
