Who ever said that poetry and basketball don't mix? Nate, one of the central figures in the upcoming documentary "Louder Than A Bomb," certainly doesn't think so. Granted, he wasn't able to pursue both his hoop and penned dreams, but he was able to combine those two passions for one of his poems.

MTV News has an exclusive clip from the doc, which has been making its rounds around film festivals in the United States, that tells a bit about Nate's story. Click on after the jump for more information about the documentary and about Nate's clip.

Don't tell us we're not working overtime to make your dreams come true, folks. The MTV News crew has long been leading the effort to make a Johnny Depp cameo in "21 Jump Street" happen. And now, after several back-and-forths with the "Pirates of the Caribbean" star and current "Jump Street" champion Jonah Hill, it's finally happened. Tom Hanson (or someone who looks startlingly like him) is back, baby!

So, how did the cameo heard 'round the world actually come into place? As it turns out, we really might have had a hand in it! Depp, who's currently promoting this week's release of "On Stranger Tides," sat down for a chat with us recently and revealed that he'd been hoping for a "Jump Street" cameo ever since he first found out about the reboot in that fateful interview over a year ago.

"I was sort of invited into that indirectly," he explained. "It was during an interview like a year and a half ago — somebody mentioned it and I hadn't heard anything about it, and I thought, 'Well, sure, if they asked me, I'd love to do it!' But nobody ever really approached me."

Judd ApatowFROM MTV MOVIES: In the run-up to the debut of "Bridesmaids" this past weekend, with theaters jammed with popcorn action flicks like "Thor" and "Fast Five," industry insiders were predicting a box-office gross of around $15 million to $17 million. But stellar reviews, strong word of mouth and, most importantly, a staggeringly funny film combined to thrust "Bridesmaids" to a $26.2 million opening.

Yet while the rest of Hollywood might have been surprised that the movie, starring "Saturday Night Live" star Kristen Wiig and a slew of hilarious supporting women, did so well, producer Judd Apatow had a feeling the comedy would connect with a previously untapped slice of the movie-going public.

"I always hoped that there was this huge neglected audience out there hoping someone would start making movies for them," Apatow said in an email to MTV News on Monday (May 16). "I am so excited I was not imagining things. Hopefully this will lead to a lot more movies being made starring funny women."

It feels somewhat off to call "Kung Fu Panda 2's" Jack Black and Angelina Jolie co-stars. Their animated characters Po and Tigress spend on-screen time together, but Black and Jolie solely worked off-screen, lending their voices to the upcoming sequel of their wildly successful 2008 flick.

But that doesn't mean moviegoers may never get to see them on film together someday. MTV News caught up with the stars at the Cannes Film Festival's "Kung Fu Panda 2" premiere, and they discussed the possibility of working together on a live-action movie at some point down the line.

"We haven't really talked about it, even in a joking way," Black admitted, "We haven't talked [about] it in any type of way." But things soon got rolling when Jolie chimed in about the idea of working with Black again in a different capacity: "I would love to."

Everything ends on July 15. Well, not everything — I hope not, at least! — but that's certainly the last time we'll have a new "Harry Potter" movie release to enjoy, unless J.K. Rowling decides to return to the wizarding world at some point down the line.

"Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2" promises an epic ending for one of the most critically and commercially revered fantasy franchises of all time, and all of the promotional material leading up to the big release has championed the size and scope of Harry's final battle against He Who Must Not Be Named.

Case in point: the first "Deathly Hallows: Part 2" television spot, which conjures up more awesome sauce in thirty seconds than one could produce in an entire potions class.

Peter Jackson is shooting "The Hobbit" in New Zealand right now, so perhaps he's too busy to catch wind of the serious fighting words that were thrown down at the Cannes Film Festival last week.

They came from Lynne Ramsay, the film director behind the feature film "We Need To Talk About Kevin," which created some of the hottest buzz at the fest. But she also spent a lot of time talking about one of her former almost-movies, "The Lovely Bones," which she has a bit of a history with.

Ramsay was originally attached to adapt the novel as early as 2001, sticking with the project until, in her words, Steven Spielberg started poking around, and then she left and Jackson inevitably ended up taking over in 2004.

And let's just say she wasn't too big of a fan of Jackson's take on Alice Sebold's story: "I thought it looked like 'My Little Pony,'" she said.

FROM MTV MULTIPLAYER: Earlier this month, the internet went all aflutter that Ubisoft was entering the film business with the founding of Ubisoft Motion Pictures. This was at least partially true, as the French company was in fact looking to secure deals with American studios to produce movies based on their gaming franchises. That said, the company had no plans to actually start producing motion pictures on their own. Now, it looks like the company may already be in discussions to release 3D versions of "Assassin's Creed," "Splinter Cell," and "Ghost Recon."

Speaking to Variety, Ubisoft Motion Pictures' division head, Jean-Julien Baronnet, and vice-president of distribution, Jean de Rivieres, claim that the projects have drawn great interest from American screenwriters and studios. The pair are apparently flying out to Los Angeles in June – which conveniently coincides with E3 – to meet with "studios and agents." Who these U.S. film executives are, exactly, is unclear.

"We want to keep ownership, retain control over the film content, and we're open to work with studios on the development of our projects, and eventually collaborate on the pre-casting, pre-budget and script," Baronnet told Variety.

Donald TrumpStop the presses — turns out that "Celebrity Apprentice" host Donald Trump isn't running for president after all. The news was announced during the NBC up front presentation today, prompting a flurry of reactions from the celebrity-driven space of Twitter-Wood.

In unrelated news, "Bridesmaids" was a hit at the box office this weekend, crushing any doubts that Kristen Wiig's latest comedy couldn't achieve commercial success. It's a critical darling, too, with glowing reviews pouring in from all across the blogosphere.

A lot of directors have been named in connection with the Angelina Jolie-starring "Cleopatra," from "Bourne" mastermind Paul Greengrass to "Avatar" visionary James Cameron. Neither of those guys ended up behind the camera, leaving the door open at the moment.

But perhaps the door is closing with the arrival of David Fincher, the Oscar-nominated director of "The Social Network" and the upcoming American adaptation of "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo." Fincher's name was first mentioned for "Cleopatra" in late March, and while his participation remains unconfirmed, Angelina herself told MTV News that she's definitely talked with the "Fight Club" filmmaker about the possibility of bringing ancient Egypt to life.

"It's all very early," she cautioned us, adding, "Fincher's been an old friend, so we've always been looking for something to do [together]."
