Okay, so we know that this is Shockwave, but… who the frak is this guy?!
Some more new photos from Michael Bay's "Transformers: Dark of the Moon" have arrived online courtesy of Apple, including a good look at Rosie Huntington-Whiteley as Carly and… well, this guy. Perhaps I need to brush up my "Transformers" Shakespeare, but I can't place this new villain. He sort of looks like the floating Megatron head-fortress from "Beast Machines," but that would be a pretty obscure reference. Who or whatever this new machine is, one thing is pretty clear: he's not on our side.

There's more news after the jump, including brand-new trailers for "X-Men: First Class" and "Bridesmaids," plus a new take on "Zorro" that sends the masked swordsman into… the future?!

FROM MTV MOVIES: Ten years ago, Baz Luhrmann brought us into the world of the "Moulin Rouge," a sexy, musical take on the subculture of turn-of-the-century Paris based on the story of Orpheus and Eurydice. It starred Ewan McGregor and Nicole Kidman and featured over-the-top costumes and reinventions of modern songs from "Lady Marmalade" to "Smells Like Teen Spirit."
To commemorate that movie's 10th anniversary, MTV News reunites Luhrmann, Kidman and McGregor to celebrate "Moulin Rouge at 10: A Spectacular Spectacular MTV News Event" on Monday, May 2, at 3 p.m. ET on MTV.com. The director and stars will be joined by co-star John Leguizamo, who played artist Toulouse-Lautrec, and Catherine Martin, who won the Oscar for costume design and art direction. Hosted by MTV News' Josh Horowitz, the live stream will include special appearances and live interviews while looking back at how the film came to be and how its legacy continues to grow.
To get in on the fun, fans can submit questions for the "Moulin Rouge" director and talent via the @MTVNews Twitter handle with the hashtag #AskMoulin.

With just two days until the starting pistol is fired for the U.S. release of “Fast Five,” we enter day 3 of our week-long look back at the films that came before. Today we turn to the most exotic and unusual addition to the franchise: “The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift,” featuring an all-new main cast and scenes primarily filmed overseas.
For the third installment of “The Fast And the Furious” franchise, the filmmakers broke away from the pack and relocated the series to the Tokyo streets that gave them the Asian-import cars from the original film. Just as Vin Diesel dropped out of the second film, his founding co-star Paul Walker opted out of this third film and pushed producer Neal H. Moritz to find a completely new cast to rebuild the franchise. For that he turned to noted independent actor Lucas Black, who became known for both his acting chops and Alabama accent in films like “Sling Blade,” “Friday Night Lights” and “Jarhead.” For directing this primarily Tokyo-based production, Moritz turned to Asian-American filmmaker Justin Lin, known at the time for his 2002 crime-drama “Better Luck Tomorrow.”
Yesterday's teaser for Tarsem Singh's latest movie "Immortals" could not have prepared us for the cinematic glory showcased in the full trailer, which arrived online today.
It's not that it's a story we haven't heard before. Greek warrior Theseus, played by "Man of Steel" actor Henry Cavill, has to summon the Titans in order to defeat the power-mad King Hyperion, the always-great Mickey Rourke. But despite the simple premise for the film (which, yes, sounds very similar to last year's "Clash of the Titans"), what has us so excited about this trailer is the visual stamp Singh has left on his work.

After months of promotion (it felt like years), "The Voice" finally premiered last night to huge numbers. During the show, the twitter-verse exploded, and tweet-shrapnel came from every which way, including Hollywood.
Meanwhile, the opening of "Thor" mightily approaches, and actress/singer Miley Cyrus wants in. While she's not billed for the film, Miley posted her own addition to the superhero epic. We have a feeling it's not going to make the final cut, but hey, here's hoping. All this and "Fast Five" is already receiving rave reviews -- and one outlet just doesn't get it.
I'm @TravisHelwig and this is Twitter-Wood for April 27th, 2011.

FROM MTV MOVIES: When the 2011 MTV Movie Awards swoop into the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, California, on June 5, "Saturday Night Live" star Jason Sudeikis will be front and center to take on hosting duties for the 20th annual ceremony.
"I'm sincerely flattered that the folks from the Mostly Teenage Viewers network have invited me to host this year, and I look forward to keeping the streak of flawless and critically lauded movie awards show hosting in 2011 alive," Sudeikis said.
In addition to his exploits on "SNL" — where over six seasons Sudeikis has portrayed everyone from Vice President Joe Biden to "American Idol" winner Taylor Hicks — the comedian and actor stars in this summer's "Horrible Bosses" opposite Jason Bateman and Charlie Day.

At long last, "The Avengers" are finally assembling. Mark Ruffalo, taking over the role of Bruce Banner from previous "Hulk" star Ed Norton, is about to get green and mean in front of cameras in New Mexico, an endeavor that's bound to soak up much of his time over the next several months.
But Ruffalo, a man of many talents — his directorial debut "Sympathy for Delicious" hits theaters this weekend — has more on the horizon beyond the Marvel Studios epic. However, despite rumors to the contrary, those plans do not include "Cogan's Trade," the Brad Pitt-starring crime caper about a high stakes poker game gone wrong.
"That's not true," Ruffalo told MTV News of his reported involvement in the Andrew Dominik-directed film. "I don't know why that's [been reported]. That's not happening. They're already shooting that. It's almost done, actually."

A few weeks ago, "Harry Potter" actress Helen McCrory — who stars as the nefarious Narcissa Malfoy — let slip the news that there were multiple endings for "Deathly Hallows Part 2." Curious news to be sure, but as longtime "Potter" veteran Tom Felton explains it, the truth is a bit less complicated.
We spoke with Felton as part of our continuing Summer Movie Preview week — in addition to "Deathly Hallows," the blonde-haired actor has a role in the increasingly buzz-worthy "Rise of the Planet of the Apes" — and he clarified McCrory's comments regarding the "Harry Potter" series' multiple endings.
"Different endings is definitely an exaggeration," he explained. "One of the beauties we had is that we stuck originally to the book and filmed everything. Now, of course, we can't have a four hour film. Obviously, the director is going to have to pick and choose. Even I'm excited to see exactly what happens, because I haven't seen the final cut."

Arnold Schwarzenegger is "The Terminator." No, really.
According to Deadline, the former Governor, who is making his long-awaited return to the big screen, will revive the legendary franchise that kept his status as a bona fide action star intact throughout the '80s and '90s. While there's no writer yet attached to the project, "Fast Five" director Justin Lin could helm the next installment of the "Terminator" saga, which will -- say it with me -- bring Arnold "baaahk."
Check out the rest of Tuesday's biggest casting news from Hollywood, including additions to "The Hunger Games," as well as a plea from Kristen Bell to appear in the big screen adaptation.

The fifth installment of the torque and testosterone-fueled “Fast and Furious” franchise – “Fast Five” – throttles into theaters this Friday, and the Vin Diesel-fronted vehicle promises to be the most fun you’ve had at the movies so far this year, as evidenced by the clip we teased you with last week.
Though it’s thoroughly badass, we couldn’t help but wonder if the bank vault heist we showcased is physically feasible under any circumstances, so we sent the video along to Phil Schewe, Chief Science Writer and spokesman for the American Institute of Physics. His thoughts about the Plausibility Factor of Vin and Paul Walker’s vault-toting plight? In a word: impossible. But does the suspension of disbelief make for massively fun cinema? Absolutely!
Phil’s play-by-play of the science behind the sequence is pretty entertaining stuff – so geek out with us, if you’re so inclined, and check what he had to say!
