2008 was a simpler time for Taylor Lautner. Still known primarily as the kid from "The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl 3-D," the biggest concern for the then-16-year-old (egads!) wasn't yet relentless paparazzi and hardcore fans, but rather, the itchiness of his "Twilight" wig.

But even now with his increasingly-hectic life, the star is taking time to join us this Wednesday (April 13) for "MTV First: Taylor Lautner" for an interview, in which he'll take questions from fans and premiere the trailer for his upcoming action flick, "Abduction."

We've come to have a lot of our own fond memories of Taylor over these past few years, so in preparation for his special, we've been counting down our top five favorite MTV moments with Taylor. Thurs far we've looked back at his Gross(man) encounter of a Les kind, as well as his his ab-off with co-star Robert Pattinson, and a run-in with an inked-up Twi-hard.

In our #2 moment, we hop in the sorta-way-back machine to the set of the very first "Twilight," where Taylor told us all about the fake hair that helped him transform to teen wolf Jacob Black.

After two missed shots, Sylvester Stallone and director Walter Hill will finally set their sights together on "Headshot."

Ain’t It Cool News received a direct message from Stallone that he's officially secured Hill to direct his upcoming film "Headshot." The cop and hitman team-up pic is a long time coming for this pair of filmmakers: Stallone said that he was close to working with Hill on two of the director’s previous films, 1982’s “48 Hrs.” and 1978’s “The Driver.” Although he might not be a widely-known name for modern moviegoers, Hill’s work in the '70s and '80s made him one of the most respected directors of action films and the late-20th Century revival of the Western. He's worked with some of Hollywood’s greatest action stars -- McQueen, Bronson, Schwarzenegger, Willis, Rourke, Snipes -- with Stallone being one of the few exceptions... until now.

Check out a highlight reel of Walter Hill’s work over his 40+ year career after the jump, and you’ll begin to see how a team-up with Sylvester Stallone on "Headshot" may be a perfect shot for both actor and director.

Things finally seem to be moving along nicely for Tim Burton and Johnny Depp's "Dark Shadows" adaptation. They've assembled a fun, high-caliber cast in Depp, Eva Green, Helena Bonham Carter, Michelle Pfeiffer and Chloe Moretz. And now they have up-and-comer/Depp lookalike Thomas McDonell in the mix to play young Barnabas Collins.

When MTV News caught up with McDonnell at the "Prom" junket we tried to pry a few details about the project out of him. And when I say "pry," I mean it. McDonell is a young man of very, very few words. See the video and exchange below for proof.

"We're going to do a lot of rehearsals," McDonell said regarding how he's prepping for the role. "But we've got awhile before we do that."

Blake LivelyWith Jennifer Lawrence signed to "The Hunger Games," Blake Lively is ready to get savage.

Lawrence's departure from Oliver Stone's latest, "Savages," has opened the door for hot young Hollywood actresses from Olivia Wilde to Teresa Palmer to land the lead role, but now Variety has the news that Stone wants Lively to play main female character Ophelia. That's all well and good, except The Playlist has the news that she's also looking to join Mila Kunis and James Franco in "Oz: The Great and Powerful," so nothing is set in stone yet.

After the jump, Michael Shannon talks his casting as General Zod in "Superman," a main "American Pie" actress returns for their "Reunion" and Alec Baldwin and Jesse Eisenberg could be headed towards Woody Allen's latest.

Peter JacksonPeter Jackson is heading back to the world of J.R.R. Tolkien with some very familiar faces joining him for "The Hobbit," but if the director executes his vision properly, the landscape of Middle-Earth could look quite different.

The director provided a lengthy update on the technical side of "The Hobbit" on his official Facebook page, confirming what many had previously reported: he's shooting his two-part "Lord of the Rings" prequel at 48 frames per second, as opposed to the traditional method of shooting at 24 FPS.

Jackson breaks down what this change means for the casual film fan by saying: "We’ve been watching 'Hobbit' tests and dailies at 48 fps now for several months, and we often sit through two hours worth of footage without getting any eye strain from the 3-D. It looks great, and we've actually become used to it now, to the point that other film experiences look a little primitive."

We already expected "The Hobbit" to wow us on the visual side of things, and now we're even more intrigued by the cinematic possibilities of Jackson's latest. But it's not just the technical side of "The Hobbit" that caught our eye in this update — Jackson also included a photograph of himself standing beside an array of monitors that seem to depict the first appearance of Martin Freeman as Bilbo Baggins. It's hard to make out, but this certainly looks like the beginnings of Bilbo's momentous encounter with Gollum — a scene we already know has been shot.

Did you take my advice and check out "Hanna" over the weekend? Something tells me that a bunch of you did. Although it wasn't the number one movie at the box-office, it managed to beat Russell Brand's "Arthur" for second place. In other words, "Hanna" may have just missed the box-office's heart, but she was certainly close to the mark.

So, let's review: a successful opening weekend for a character that, in my opinion, has tons of franchise potential — could it be long before we hear official talk of a sequel? When I spoke with leading lady Saoirse Ronan last week, I put the question to her — and unsurprisingly, it wasn't the first time she'd been asked about sequels.

"[Director Joe Wright and I have] talked about it a little bit because journalists keep bringing it up," she said with a laugh. "You're like the tenth one or something, at least!"

"But it's great that people have that kind of reaction to it," she quickly added, affirming that, yes, she would love to pursue a "Hanna" sequel.

CloverfieldDirector Matt Reeves, who scared the bejeezus out of us with "Let Me In" and "Cloverfield," is out to make his feel uneasy once again.

According to Deadline, Reeves is adapting Ray Nelson's chilling short story, "8 O’Clock in the Morning," about a man who has visions of aliens controlling society, for Universal. If it sounds familiar, it's because the 1988 John Carpenter classic "They Live" is also adapted from the short story. [Ed. Note: Pretty sure the short story doesn't include the most epic fist fight in the history of forever, though.] Don't expect this to be another remake, however, As Reeves plans to take nothing from "They Live" for his film.

Check out the rest of Monday's biggest news out of Hollywood, including Michael Shannon's casting in "Man of Steel" and plot details for "Tron 3" (yes, already!)
