JGLWe reported on it weeks ago, but it was made official yesterday: Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Marion Cotilliard will be joining the cast of "The Dark Knight Rises." And if it wasn't for Twitter, we'd have no idea how meta this casting really was.

According to the James Cameron blockbuster "The Terminator," the artificial intelligence in the Skynet program went live yesterday, which means that our inevitable destruction is just hours away! Since we're all about to die, you might as well read a few predictions for what might be in store for the robot apocalypse.

And a beautiful actress talks about filming love scenes! We won't give it away, but it involves lots and lots of high fives.

I'm @TravisHelwig and this Twitter-Wood for April 20th, 2011.

Taylor Lautner's first post-"Twilight" movie, "Abduction," is likely the film that will prove him as a certifiable action star.

Fortunately, the buzz from the trailer and from MTV's recent interview with the young star bodes well for the flick, and its September 23 release date cannot come soon enough in our opinion. And it only helps that Lautner has some serious back-up in the movie in the form of costars Sigourney Weaver, Alfred Molina, Maria Bello and Jason Isaacs.

Lautner has worked with some pretty high profile stars in the past, but he said that he was definitely intimidated by finding out that these actors would be backing him up in a film.

Hunger GamesThe names being called for "The Hunger Games" continues to grow by the day. Earlier this week it was announced that newcomers Amandla Stenberg and Dayo Okeniyi signed on to play District 11 members Rue and Thresh and that Elizabeth Banks was being circled to take on the role of chaperon Effie Trinket.

Now, as our friends over at Hollywood Crush reported, two more have joined in for the "Games" and much like Stenberg and Okeniyi, they are relative unknowns. Jack Quaid (son of Dennis Quaid and Meg Ryan) and TV actress Leven Rambin ("Grey's Anatomy") will star as the privileged District 1 tributes, Marvel and Glimmer. While this casting gets fans one step closer to a better idea of how the film will look, there are still nine more district slots that need to be filled, as well as major characters such as Haymitch and Prim.

Check out the rest of Wednesday's biggest casting news in the movie business, including Ben Affleck saying no to "The Great Gatsby" and John Krasinski getting in line for "Nobody Walks"!

Judgment Day approaches, and we're not talking about the Biblical kind: rather, yesterday was the day that Skynet became self-aware, and April 21, 2011 is the day that it launches its robot onslaught against mankind, according to the updated "Terminator" mythology laid out in the recent "Sarah Connor Chronicles" TV series. Threatened by what it perceives to be humanity infringing upon its God-given right to exist, Skynet goes bonkers, shutting down global systems, initiating nuclear holocaust and stopping production on "Jersey Shore." Is there no end to the machines' madness?

Fortunately, you are not alone. In dubious honor of the date, we've whipped up a list of five ways to survive when the machines come knocking at your door and it's not one of the friendly ones you can teach about crying and friendship. Society may be dead, but you are not. Go long, brave human.

Marion CotillardIf there was still a small part of you that thought that Marion Cotillard and Joseph Gordon-Levitt's casting in "The Dark Knight Rises" as some cruel joke, let those fears officially be put to rest.

Warner Bros. released a statement today announcing that Christopher Nolan's oft-rumored "Inception" collaborators are indeed a part of "The Dark Knight Rises," though not necessarily in the roles you'd expect. Cotillard will play Miranda Tate, a board member at Wayne Enterprises, and Gordon-Levitt has been tapped for John Blake, a Gotham City cop under Commissioner Gordon. Despite that, though, our friends over at Splash Page think Nolan might still be keeping some tricks up his sleeve. They think there's still a chance Cotillard could be playing Talia Al Ghul, and we're betting that there's more than meets the eye to JGL's cop as well.

After the jump, "Fast Six" gets a writer, "Red State" makes a profit, and finally some good news for "Gravity."

We told you yesterday that this could very well be the biggest year in Daniel Radcliffe's career, and we weren't kidding. He's currently starring as the conniving but charming J. Pierpont Finch in the Broadway revival of "How to Succeed In Business Without Really Trying," he's finishing up the "Harry Potter" franchise this summer and then in February, he'll really stretch those acting muscles as a horror lead in "The Woman in Black."

"The Woman in Black" tells the story of a man (Radcliffe) sent to settle a deceased client's affairs in a small England town, stumbling upon the titular haunted presence in the process. It's a big step forward for Radcliffe in many ways, but don't take our word for it — after the jump, see why Radcliffe thinks "The Woman in Black" is a critical notch in his continually impressive career!

It's a safe bet that J.J. Abrams is always working on something, whether it's a new movie, TV show, comic book, grilled cheese recipe, etc. Now word comes in of another top-secret project between Abrams and frequent collaborators Monica Breen and Alison Schapker on a new film involving "swashbuckling robots with swords" called "Zanbato." Sounds like the Thanksgiving hangover I never woke up from, but I digress.

Deadline has the news, though details are scarce beyond that bizarre but alluring premise. "Zanbato" marks the fourth collaboration between Abrams and the Breen/Schapker team, who previously wrote for "Alias," "Lost" and "Fringe." Deadline points out that female writing teams in sci-fi are rare, but you wouldn't believe it by checking their resume -- Breen and Schapker kicked out some of those shows' most compelling and shocking material.

We don't know what the new project will fully entail, but their past work on those shows -- which we're detailing past the jump -- gives us a whole lot of confidence.

Isla FisherBen Affleck may have found both his love interests for "The Great Gatsby." With Carey Mulligan set to play Tom Buchanan's wife (and the story's leading lady) Daisy, it seems that Isla Fisher may play his mistress, Myrtle.

The Hollywood Reporter has the news, and while neither Affleck nor Fisher has confirmed their parts in Baz Luhrmann's 3-D adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald's classic tale, they would join an A-list cast of already confirmed actors including Leonardo DiCaprio as the Great (Jay) Gatsby, the aforementioned Mulligan (who is Gatsby's one true love) and Tobey Maguire as the story's narrator, Nick Carraway, a man that finds himself perplexed by his pal's somewhat questionable actions.

ThorThe summer blockbuster season is rapidly approaching and the tweets are alive with excitement. Arguably, the first big film opens May 6th and comes in the form of a hammer-wielding warrior named "Thor." Leave it to Seth MacFarlane to point out the most exciting thing about the Norse God.

For us, summer blockbuster season usually means obnoxiously-excited-for-new-Pixar-movies season. We're counting down the days until "Cars 2," but one "Finding Nemo" star is upset that a sequel is not in her future.

Meanwhile, "Rio" slayed "Scream 4" at the box office this weekend and star Tracy Morgan finally gets his promotional groove on. And another comedian is celebrating Passover this year, albeit under a new name.

I'm @TravisHelwig and this is Twitter-Wood for April 19th, 2011.

Super 8The worlds of movies and video games don't often mix well together, but in the case of the upcoming "Super 8" and the just-released "Portal 2," exceptions can be made.

"Portal 2" hits shelves today courtesy of Valve Corporation, and you can read all about it thanks to MTV Multiplayer's review of the game. But it's not just the first-person puzzling adventure that the "Portal" sequel has in store for you — it also offers an up close and personal look at "Super 8," the secretive summer movie from J.J. Abrams and Steven Spielberg.

Kotaku alerts us to an interactive trailer for "Super 8" that was included in "Portal 2" as a special feature. And when we say interactive, we really mean it: Valve is giving you the chance to hop inside the world of "Super 8" and play out one of the most memorable scenes from the film's various trailers.
