It's not easy being in the middle of the eternal conflict between the Autobots and Decepticons. And no, we're not talking about "Transformers" protagonist Sam Witwicky — as tough as it's been for Shia LaBeouf's character throughout the blockbuster series, it's director Michael Bay who's really caught in the crossfire.
Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, who makes her big-screen debut as Shia's new love interest in "Transformers: Dark of the Moon" this summer, spoke with MTV News at CinemaCon in Las Vegas about the tireless efforts of Michael Bay, a man who's now filmed three back-to-back-to-back "Transformers" flicks since 2007.
"Throughout my whole career, I've never seen anybody work so hard," she said of her director. "He's literally done these 'Transformers' movies for six years now."
"As a cast, we'll do the filming for seven months, then he goes into the editing room and edits for six months," she continued. "Then he comes out of the editing room and he promotes it, and then by the time he finishes that, he's prepping for the next one. It's kind of amazing to see how dedicated he is to these films."
For her own part, the model-turned-actress is thrilled that she got a chance to join the "Transformers" fold, even if she understood that Bay isn't exactly the shy and quiet type.
"I knew what I was getting into," she said. "It was a crazy opportunity that was handed to me and I spent seven months making the movie with a great cast and a great director. It's been the rollercoaster ride of a lifetime, and I'm still on it. I'm not sure if I'll ever get off!"
