Not a prank, not a joke — though in fairness, you're bound to see a lot of both here.
The full-length trailer for "The Hangover: Part II" has arrived, appropriately enough, on April Fools' Day. Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, Zach Galifianakis and Justin Bartha are back for another round of hung over shenanigans, this time taking their drunken escapades to the city streets of Bangkok, Thailand.
If this trailer looks a little bit familiar, there's a good reason for that. The ghost of the original "Hangover" looms heavily over the sequel, it seems, as many of the scenes we're seeing in this new trailer are reminiscent of the first film. Our heroes getting inexplicably hung over after celebrating their pal's impending nuptials? Check. Waking up in a strange place with a strange animal lurking nearby? You bet'cha. Something physically disfiguring happens to Stu? Absolutely. Doug's gone? Yeah, technically.
But there are enough key differences to make things feel fresh: Stu's tattoo in lieu of a missing tooth (or, god forbid, another appendage) is hilariously delivered. Doug's absence is finally explained, and it looks like he (wisely) removed himself from the drunken proceedings. Bringing Ken Jeong's flamboyant Mr. Chow back but this time as an ally (at least on a surface level) works fantastically well.
In short, if it ain't broke, don't fix it—but a few modifications here and there certainly work well in tuning up the whole package. We're pretty pumped about the new trailer, but what do you think? Let us know in the comments section and on Twitter!
