When you’re 19 years old, starring in your first big screen flick alongside George Clooney isn’t a bad gig. Just ask Shailene Woodley: as the star of the ABC family drama “Secret Life of the American Teenager,” Woodley is usually busy playing the part of a teen mom, but recently she stepped into a very different role as Clooney’s troubled daughter in the upcoming movie “The Descendants.”

We caught up with Woodley at the ABC Upfronts last week and got the scoop on what it’s really like to work with Clooney.

“He is unbelievable. He’s so down to earth and so normal and so professional and intelligent and hilarious,” said Woodley. “I have only the best things to say about him.”

PiIt’s Pi Day! (March 14…3.14…get it?) And what better way to pay homage to those first three digits in the number that never ends or repeats than by looking back at the aptly-named “Pi,” director Darren Aronofsky’s first feature film all about one man’s obsession with that pesky mathematical phenomenon.

“Pi” launched Aronofsky’s career, earning him the Directing Award at the 1998 Sundance Film Festival, along with an Independent Spirit Award for Best First Screenplay. It was a critical success at the time, and – despite very limited release in theaters – pulled in over $3 million at the U.S. box office. Not bad for a movie made with a $60,000 budget!

We’re beyond psyched to see how traditionally understated Joe Wright ("The Soloist") directs his way around a full-tilt action vehicle when "Hanna" arrives in theaters on April 8. The film follows the story of a teenage girl (played by Saoirse Ronan, who Wright first worked with in “Atonement”) raised as an assassin by her ex-CIA agent father Erik (the always delightful Eric Bana). Hanna’s father ultimately sends her on a quest that takes her across Europe, where she’s tailed by the agents of a mysterious operative (Cate Blanchett) and racks up a pretty epic body count in the process.

As if the idea of watching a badass chick's coming-of-age-by-kicking-major-butt story isn’t exciting enough, infamous British big beat duo The Chemical Brothers were commissioned to produce the film’s score. Beheadings, stabbings and beatings soundtracked to electronica? Yes, please!

We were even more stoked about it when The Chemical Brothers released the whole soundtrack on their MySpace page this past Friday. We didn’t need to listen more than once to know we’ll be buying the score when it’s available exclusively on iTunes this Tuesday (March 15).

The Chemical Brothers' new soundtrack got us thinking: since the trend of established mainstream music artists composing film soundtracks is a very welcome one, why not share a few of our favorite scores by famous musicians? So if you're digging the "Hanna" soundtrack, we suggest the following six movie scores as your next step!

Hobo with a Shotgun"Hobo with a Shotgun" is not for the weak of the stomach. It's filled with some of the most revoltingly creative death scenes ever laid to film where nothing is sacred and no one is safe, not even a bus full of smiling children.

But through all the guts and gore, director Jason Eisener delivers a blood-strewn enthusiasm that's only as disturbing as it is infectious. His feature film debut got its start as a short trailer shot for Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez's Grindhouse SXSW competition, a victory that launched the full-length "Hobo" into existence.

Now, history could very well repeat itself, as Eisener and the YerDead and Rhombus teams are giving aspiring filmmakers a chance to submit their own fake grindhouse trailers for an all-new competition. Read more about it after the jump!

Geeks of the world, if there's one point that "Battle: Los Angeles" drove home, it's this: alien invasions are an inevitability, not just a possibility, and we'd be wise to prepare accordingly.

Preparation goes far beyond honing those combat skills for one-on-one alien death matches, too. When we finally meet our extraterrestrial overlords, what are you going to do to stay on their good side? Which aliens are worth seducing into the bedroom? Which ones should you marry? And which ones would be better off dead in a ditch?

Surely you know by now that the full-length “Super 8” trailer premiered last week, alongside a new official poster, which you can see past the jump. Frankly, we’re just a little bit obsessed with it, endlessly pressing play over and over and over again in an attempt to analyze every single frame the trailer has to offer. If it wasn't official before, it is now: "Super 8" is giving us goosebumps.

And why is that, exactly? Simple – it's because it makes us feel like we’re seven years old all over again. The trailer (or is it that Amblin logo?) triggers an almost Pavlovian response in those of us who grew up with Steven Spielberg’s films, and it’s pretty clear that “Super 8” will serve as an homage to his most beloved tales, with some signature J.J. Abrams action thrown in for good measure.

So which classic movies are we flashing back to after watching the “Super 8” trailer? It looks to boast elements of these five favorites.

If you thought "Blue Valentine" was a laugh riot, get ready to piss yourself during Monogamy."

Which is to say that "Monogamy," a new indie starring Rashida Jones and Chris Messina, takes the dramatic potential of the sort of romantic love explored in "Blue Valentine" and drags it into new, insanely depressing depths. Looked at another way, though, "Monogamy" is simply an unsparing and utterly truthful look at a couple in, and sometimes out, of love, as difficult as that may be to watch.

Making it all the more difficult is the fact that, off-screen, Jones and Messina are actually friends. "I was nervous, because she went to high school with my girlfriend," Messina told MTV News of Jones. "She would come over to my apartment and play with my kids. That's how I knew Rashida. When we first decided to do this together, I was a bit scared. Not only making out, but just how intimate that the places the film goes."

The Dark TowerDescribing "The Dark Tower" as a huge, sweeping epic doesn't even begin to justly acknowledge the size and scope of Stephen King's revered fantasy saga. And it's only getting bigger.

In his official newsletter, King made the surprising revelation that an eighth "Dark Tower" novel is on its way, despite the fact that the series concluded after book seven. But King has found a way to expand the adventures of Roland Deschain in the form of "The Wind through the Keyhole," a new book set for release in 2012.

King says the new novel will take place between "The Wizard and the Glass" and "Wolves of the Calla," the fourth and fifth books in the series, resulting in what the author describes as "The Dark Tower 4.5."
