Woe is the plight of the "Arrested Development" movie. We want to see it! The fans want to see it! The cast members want to make it! (Well, almost all of them.) So why the heck can't we get this show on the road? 'Tis a neverending puzzle that at this point will have to live on via the non-news updates we get from various involved parties.

When MTV News caught up with director Paul Feig (who directed seven episodes of the TV show) at the PaleyFest's "Freaks and Geeks" reunion recently, I asked him if he had heard any news about the long-delayed production. Unsurprisingly, and much like all the other players I've been harassing over the years, he laughed at the question.

BrotherhoodWe've all seen the stereotypical "fraternity movie," complete with raunchiness, college boy antics, hazing, boozing, and more.

In the new film "Brotherhood," which won the audience award at last year's SXSW film festival, and is currently in select theaters and available on-demand, the intense and unpredictable thriller tackles those issues of hazing and group psychology head-on. Jon Foster, Trevor Morgan, Arlen Escarpeta and Lou Taylor Pucci star.

"[This film] is about a lot of things," Foster told MTV News when asked to summarize "Brotherhood." "But the quickest and fastest way is, a fraternity that has gone really wrong. You know? On another level there’s kind of an exposure of group mentality."

Whether it's because he's always screaming at Spider-Man, because he's terrorizing prison inmates or because he's offering fatherly advice to his troubled teen mom daughter, it's likely that you're at least passingly familiar with J.K. Simmons, one of the great character actors of our time.

Simmons — who counts the "Spider-Man" franchise, "Oz" and "Juno" as some of his most prominent appearances to date — is typically relegated to supporting character status, but he's a full-fledged leading man in "The Music Never Stopped," director Jim Kohlberg's drama about a father (Simmons) who tries to bond with his son Gabriel (Lou Taylor Pucci), a young man suffering from a brain tumor that prevents him from developing new memories.

It's a touching tale about the highs and lows of family life, beautifully tempered by the smooth sounds of the Grateful Dead and other musicians. In this exclusive clip from the movie, Simmons and Pucci's characters find themselves in the midst of a Dead concert, enjoying a heartfelt rendition of "Touch of Grey."

Liam NeesonLiam Neeson has a particular set of skills. Skills he nearly didn't apply to "Taken 2."

Although a sequel to the Luc Besson-produced "Taken" is now officially on track, Deadline reports that leading man Neeson nearly passed on reprising his role as retired spy Bryan Mills. The actor reportedly wanted to take some time off from acting, which wouldn't have jived with Besson's hopes to shoot the film this year. Those issues have since been resolved, and Neeson will now shoot "Taken 2" either at the end of this year or the beginning of 2012.

But had Neeson passed on "Taken 2," some very interesting names were floated around as his possible replacement. Get the lowdown on these actors past the jump!

We've been wondering how Tim Burton was planning to compress over 1,200 "Dark Shadows" episodes into one feature film. The answer, it seems, is to keep some things the same while also taking great creative liberties.

To wit, while Johnny Depp told us his take on Barnabas — the vampire at the center of the '60s-era supernatural soap — won't stray far from the character pioneered by Jonathan Frid on the TV series, co-star Eva Green's Angelique will be a far different creation than the one Lara Parker portrayed back in the day.

"I haven't seen the TV series, but from what I've seen on the Internet, it's very different. My character is very different. She's American, blonde, cool, in the '70s," Green told MTV News. "She is this sexy witch, very powerful in town, she's very cool. She has many faces."

Harry PotterIf you (like me) have long been saying that "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban" is the best of the "Potter" films, then the young voters behind the First Light Awards would agree with you.

A group of children aged five to 15 who are in association with the BAFTAs Kids' Vote organization voted "Prisoner of Azkaban" as the film of the decade for the First Light Awards, BBC News reports. The other movies in the voting pool were "Shrek," "Whale Rider," "Happy Feet" and "Up."

Red DawnThe "Red Dawn" reboot has already changed its targeted enemy from Russia to China, but the latest change is perhaps the most drastic of them all.

"Red Dawn," which completed filming quite a while ago, will now feature North Korean bad guys instead of Chinese villains, according to the Los Angeles Times. The report states that MGM made its decision so as to avoid issues with foreign distribution in the all-important Chinese market. The plan is to digitally replace Chinese flags and military symbols and altering dialogue to now refer to North Korea.

There's more news out there in movie land, so click on after the jump to find out about Tom Hanks' latest flick, what Matt Reeves has to say about "Cloverfield 2" and whether or not Johnny Knoxville is really in "The Three Stooges" remake after all.
