[UPDATE: We've spoken with Chris Pine's representatives who have confirmed that Chris does NOT have a Facebook account, so the following report is officially debunked. Sorry for the confusion, folks!]
Captain Kirk, you have command.
We've been waiting for word on the sequel to J.J. Abrams' fantastic "Star Trek" revival pretty much since the moment it arrived in theaters. But the cast and crew members involved with the franchise have been understandably tight-lipped on the project, so much so that we aren't even sure that the "Star Trek 2" script exists.
Well, it does exist, and Chris Pine has read it. After the jump, find out what the "Star Trek" hero has to say about the sequel's script!
Pine took to his Facebook account to announce that, yes, he has read the "Star Trek 2" script, and it's unsurprisingly fantastic.
"After a thousand questions regarding the Star Trek sequel I can finally say I am holding the draft script in my hand," he revealed. "I can also now tell you I have a love interest and it's all looking very exciting. Sorry but I cant give you a date for filming yet, but you guys are going to love it!"
We're sure we will, especially given Pine's tease about Kirk's long-awaited love interest. Will it be someone familiar, like Blastr's suggestion of Carol Marcus, the "Wrath of Khan" lead who was the mother of Kirk's son? Or will it be someone completely new, a character we haven't seen before? Time will tell, but thankfully, it looks like the U.S.S. Enterprise will be back amongst the stars before much longer.
