The Super Bowl kick off is just minutes away, and we have to admit we're just as excited to see the Steelers butt heads with the Packers as we are to check out a slew of brand-new movie trailers. Sometime between now and the final whistle, we'll be treated to the first ever trailer for "Captain America: The First Avenger," lengthy peeks at "Transformers: Dark of the Moon" and "Super 8," and further fresh video for "Battle: Los Angeles," "Thor," and much more.
Throughout the game, we'll be gathering video of the best ads and trailers right here, so keep checking back for the latest footage from the Super Bowl. But actually, we don't even have to wait until the pigskin goes airborne, because in the last few days we've already gotten early peeks at some of the upcoming trailers, like "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides."
It's all going to get underway soon, but if you can't wait until then, here's a few more sneak peeks. First up, director Jon Favreau tweeted out a link to the second "Cowboys & Aliens" trailer. Check it out for explosions galore and a peek at Harrison Ford in a welcome turn as a big screen baddie.
Next up is what's sure to be one of the best ads of the night. It's a Volkswagen spot in which a "Star Wars"-obsessed kid done up like Darth Vader attempts to use the Force on everything from a washing machine to a peanut butter and jelly sandwich to -- you guessed it -- the all-new 2012 Passat.
Now check out "Drive Angry 3D," the righteous, hard-R action flick starring Nicolas Cage and Amber Heard, which hits theaters on February 25.
And then there's "Kung Fu Panda 2," a sequel to one of the most entertaining animated films of the last few years. Jack Black is back at the portly martial arts master in this flick, which arrives on May 26.
