Last week's scoop that Kristen Stewart could land the leading role in "Snow White and the Huntsman" was met with mixed reactions, to say the least. Some of you were very open to the idea, while others… not so much.
Well, time to start getting used to the idea if you're not already: KStew is officially in negotiations for the part. Our friends at Hollywood Crush have the full rundown, telling us that the erstwhile Bella Swan's talks with Universal are not finalized yet and could still fall through. But both sides want the deal to happen.
Now, I can see both sides of the argument. Stewart is so recognizable for "Twilight" that it's hard for some to accept her in another franchise role, let alone one that's as protected and loved as Snow White. The fairest maiden of them all conjures a very specific image for many people, and perhaps Stewart just doesn't fit that mold. Still others aren't wild about Kristen diving into such an action-heavy take on the Snow White mythos, as the titular Huntsman spends the duration of the film tutoring Snow in the ways of the warrior. Those are just a few of the complaints.
On the flip side, "Snow White and the Huntsman" sounds like an interesting and unique interpretation of the classic fairy tale, so why shouldn't a talented actress like Stewart get involved? With the Oscar-winning Charlize Theron and the phenomenally talented Viggo Mortensen on board, wouldn't it be a treat seeing Kristen going toe-to-toe with those actors? And, really, Kristen Stewart with a battle axe… that's such an unusual mental image that it's worth the price of admission alone.
The point is, there are pros and cons. Not everyone is going to agree on this casting, least of all Kristen's most devoted fans.
