The Town DVD exclusive clipsBen Affleck has to be feeling pretty good these days. He started off the year earning raves at the Sundance Film Festival for his portrayal of a laid-off corporate exec forced to work a blue collar job installing drywall in "The Company Men" (in theaters January 21, 2011). Then this fall he earned even more accolades for co-writing, directing and starring in "The Town," a Boston-set heist drama in which he plays a bank robber trying to walk the straight and narrow.

And now, as "The Town" prepares to hit DVD and Blu-ray on December 17, Affleck is basking in the glow of the many award nominations and year-end top-10 list mentions his gritty little film is getting. In other words, you should really check out two exclusive clips from "The Town" DVD after the jump. Read More...

Jay and Silent BobOh hey, did you hear? The Weinstein Company and Miramax came up with a totally genius idea to take a bunch of their best-loved and critically acclaimed movies and churn out unnecessary sequels (some that will likely go direct-to-DVD) or TV-spinoffs for them. First on the list are "Shakespeare in Love," "Rounders" and "Bad Santa," which will soon be followed by a third "Clerks," and third "Bridget Jones's Diary," and yet another "From Dusk Till Dawn," in addition to many, many other terrible ideas. I think I'm going to let "Clerks" creator Kevin Smith take it away from here for a little while.

"I sold the movie to [Miramax] in 1994," Smith wrote on his Twitter account. "But I guess if someone was going to exploit the library for sequels, remakes, TV, I'd rather it be the devil I know. Nice to know there's a home for 'Clerks III' if I ever wanted to make it, but hope it doesn't become a home for a 'Clerks'-anything if I'm not involved." Better hold your breath, Smith. Read More...

"Zoolander," Ben Stiller's cinematic parody of/love letter to the modeling and fashion worlds, has been screaming for a sequel since day one of its release back in 2001. Nine years later, Stiller's Derek Zoolander and Owen Wilson's Hansel are finally getting ready to make love to the camera once again in "Zoolander 2."

Stiller has co-written the script with Justin Theroux, who plans to direct. Back in October, Theroux told MTV News that the male supermodels will likely be sashaying their way into theaters sometime in 2012... and now Owen Wilson is hinting that they could have some company in the form of one Lady Gaga.

When MTV News caught up with Wilson at the press junket for "How Do You Know," we asked him if their might be a "Zoolander 2" role in the cards for the meat-dress-wearing pop diva. Read More...

Robert Pattinson in Water for ElephantsThe trailer for "Water for Elephants" has stampeded its way onto the Internet, giving movie fans a beautifully shot look at the adaptation of Sara Gruen's bestselling novel and its beautiful stars, Reese Witherspoon and Robert Pattinson.

The first thing that occurs to us watching this trailer is that it's a whole lot like "Titanic"... except that the events unfold amid a traveling circus rather than upon a giant ocean liner. Depression-era setting? Check! Love triangle with beautiful woman, overbearing older lover and baby-faced younger suitor? Check! Climactic disaster providing the backdrop for the resolution of all things? Big-time check! Watch the trailer after the jump. Read More...

Sarah Jessica Parker and Zac EfronThe end of the year is approaching, and all the Hollywood rom-com heavyweights are slowly making their way towards "New Year's Eve." Today's newest official cast member is Sarah Jessica Parker, who will round out at least one of the story lines for another previously attached actress. The Hollywood Reporter has the scoop that SJP will be playing the mother of Abigail Breslin, who relies too much on her daughter for company. There goes anyone's lingering hopes of "Sex and the City 3." Good-bye, Carrie Bradshaw!

Two other actors are circling the project with interest. Halle Berry is looking to come on board as a caterer who runs into a former flame. Meanwhile, Zac Efron is interested in playing a bike messenger who crosses paths with Michelle Pfeiffer's character, a frustrated secretary who decides to work on her unfulfilled New Year's resolutions from the previous year. Apparently Efron's character will help her cross some of those puppies off. Read More...

True GritAs awards season trudges on towards the Academy Awards early next year, we're seeing a lot of repeat offenders getting love, while other films have been surprisingly ignored altogether.

That trend is partially continued with today's announcement of the SAG Awards nominations. As expected, films like "The King's Speech" and "The Fighter" are doing just fine, with both of those pictures earning four nominations a piece.

But there's a pleasant surprise for fans of the Coen Bros., too: "True Grit," the directing pair's soon-to-release Western epic, snagged two nods from the SAGs after getting shut out completely at the Golden Globes. Read More...

Gwyneth PaltrowThe "Rock of Ages" big screen adaptation already has its director, "Hairspray"'s Adam Shankman, and pretty much has its leading man squared away with Tom Cruise in talks. So now it's time for the musical homage to '80s hair bands to serenade it's leading lady. And, according to EW.com, it has.

While promoting her other singing movie, "Country Strong," Gwyneth Paltrow told EW that the movie "sounds cool." "I just got the script and I will read it on the plane home tomorrow," she said. "But it sounds like it could be fun." Read More...

Katee SackhoffSee, I have this problem where I came late into the "Battlestar Galactica" phenomenon (two years ago) so I am completely obsessed with Katee Sackhoff's badass portrayal of Starbuck, while most other fans were a bit turned off by the way "24" failed to sufficiently use her talents in the show's final season. That being said, it is to my great pleasure that The Hollywood Reporter has learned that Sackhoff will be starring in the upcoming film "Sexy Evil Genius," created by screenwriter Scott Lew and directed by Shawn Piller. Finally, not a horror flick!

Since her runs on "Battlestar Galactica" and "24," Sackhoff has slowly and steadily started to get film work. She is filming "The Haunting in Georgia" right now with Chad Michael Murray and Abigail Spencer, and is set to start on the horror flick "Growl" soon. Literally, all this woman has ever done is horror films. Her two other major credits are in "Halloween: Resurrection" and "White Noise 2: The Light." Read More...

Scarlett Johansson and Ryan ReynoldsI try to keep Twitter-Wood chiefly focused on movies-related tweets, but today Quinton Aaron of "The Blind Side" post a pic from his first week shooting on "One Tree Hill" and Gillian Jacobs got up close and personal with her favorite bathroom door on the "Community" set, so certain allowances had to be made.

Outside of TV Land, Rose McGowan reacted to insinuations that people out there are dying from attempting to strap guns to their legs, while Danny DeVito offered advice about weed and pets, and Brian Lynch polled his followers with an important question related to Ryan Reynolds and Scarlett Johansson's breakup. See what he asked down below, along with what Kat Dennings has been dreaming about lately.

I'm @brianwarmoth, and this is Twitter-Wood for December 15, 2010. Read More...

Nothing smacks of the holidays like some good old-fashioned family bonding -- sitting around the hearth, swapping stories, sipping egg nog, reminiscing about glorious times gone by... and plotting each others' demise. OK, so the "plotting each others' demise" part probably isn't true for most families, but it sure is for the dysfunctional little unit comprised of John C. Reilly, Marisa Tomei and Jonah Hill in the black comedy "Cyrus."

Hill plays the titular Cyrus, a manchild with a serious Oedipus complex and an even more serious hatred for any man that so much as looks at his beautiful mother Molly (Tomei). So when Molly begins dating goofball divorcee John (Reilly), things get a bit -- and by a bit we mean extremely -- weird, uncomfortable and potentially dangerous, as Cyrus attempts to sabotage the relationship at every turn. The above exclusive clip highlights the aforementioned dynamic beautifully, with Cyrus quite literally spelling out his devious intentions toward John.

"Cyrus" is available now on Blu-ray and DVD, and makes the perfect stocking stuffer for any of your family members... but especially the ones who hate you.

Are you excited for "Cyrus" on Blu-ray? Tell us in the comments!
