PaulIt's hard to put our collective Movies Blog finger down on what exactly it is we love so much about the new "Paul" trailer.

Maybe it's the clear, loving homage to "2001: A Space Odyssey" at the beginning of the trailer when this film is an extra-terrestrial movie that's anything but. Maybe it's the way Seth Rogen's voice is so perfectly suited for this tiny rude green alien. Or maybe it's just that we're happy to see Simon Pegg and Nick Frost back together again.

Regardless of the reason, the "Paul" trailer has hit the web courtesy of Yahoo UK, and it's pretty freaking fantastic. In addition to our three heroes, Kristen Wiig joins the team to help protect Paul, and ends up having some romantic moments with Pegg in the meantime. And then there's Jason Bateman as a special agent out to capture and presumably kill Paul for setting foot on planet Earth. And is that Sigourney Weaver's voice we hear as his commander? It sure is! MTV's Josh Horowitz got to live out every blue-blooded heterosexual male's fantasy earlier this week when "Little Fockers" star Jessica Alba popped on by our offices for a good old-fashioned slumber party. Jessica Alba in pajamas, possibly wanting to have a pillow fight -- not a bad gig, right?

Well, as it turns out Alba's idea of a slumber party was just a wee bit different. To be sure, it involved the adorable actress in some very cute PJs -- always a bonus -- but large knives, avocado hair masks and Greek-yogurt facials were also on the menu. Luckily, Alba did agree to the ages-old slumber party pasttime of "Truth or Dare" (which, as we all know, was invented by Madonna). Did things get scandalous? See for yourself...

With which celebrity -- other than Alba, of course -- would you want to have a slumber party? Tell us in the comments!

Justin TimberlakeWe're in the thick of a particularly competitive awards season where snubs and shutouts are par for the course. But that's not the fault of nominating parties, necessarily — frankly, 2010 was just an excellent year for film.

Still, it's hard not to get a little raw about some of the shocking omissions that we've seen thus far, like the complete absence of "True Grit" at the Golden Globes, for example. But there are some performances that are just too great to ignore, leaving us surprised at the lack of awards recognition for some of our favorite actors and actresses.

After the jump, check out five of the biggest snubs of awards season thus far! Read More...

The A-Team on DVDWhen writer-director Joe Carnahan's adaptation of the beloved '80s TV show "The A-Team" hit theaters this summer, it seemed poised for blockbuster awesomeness. It had a built-in fanbase, a talented director and a spot-on cast -- Liam Neeson as Hannibal, Bradley Cooper (pictured) as Faceman, UFC fighter Quinton "Rampage" Jackson as B.A. and "District 9" star Sharlto Copley as "Howling Mad" Murdock. But for some reason it failed to find a blockbuster-sized auidence.

When Carnahan called up MTV to chat about the movie's release on DVD and Blu-ray (it hit stores December 14), he talked about why he thinks it didn't connect with audiences in theaters, dished on the Blu-ray's extended director's cut and revealed his thoughts on an "A-Team" sequel. He also spilled the beans on his "'Jaws'-like' next film "The Grey," which stars Liam Neeson as the leader of a group of oil drillers being hunted by wolves in the Arctic. Sounds chilling. With "Tron: Legacy" hitting theaters today (December 17), there's been a lot of talk about the original 1982 "Tron" and what it does and doesn't have when compared to the new one. While the original lacks the eye-popping 3-D and sleek new CGI of "Legacy," it does have sweet neon-colored light cycles and a young Jeff Bridges, just like the new one. There is, however, one thing that both films lack: Tron, clad in aviator sunglasses and sporting enough gold around his neck to make Mr. T jealous, rapping about life on the Grid.

That's where "How It Should Have Ended: Tron" comes in. This video, procured exclusively by MTV from HowItShouldHaveEnded.com, showcases an animated version of the titular character dropping beats about light cycles, light discs, Clu and the MCP like it's his job, all while his very own posse of scantily clad female "programs" (aka Robert Palmer Girls minus the Robert Palmer) dance behind him. And, yes -- in the words of Robert Palmer himself: This clip is simply irresistible. Check it out below.

Eric BanaEven as Daniel Day-Lewis prepares for his deep-dive portrayal of Abraham Lincoln in director Stephen Spielberg's long developing biopic about the sixteenth President of the United States, another actor is possibly gearing up for Honest Abe — though his take is sure to be significantly bloodier.

The Wrap reports that Eric Bana is circling the title role in "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter," an adaptation of Seth Grahame-Smith's historical horror fiction novel for 20th Century Fox. Timur Bekmambetov is directing the project with Tim Burton on board as a producer.

The report is quick to note that Bana hasn't landed the presidential role just yet — for now, he's simply "scheduled to meet with" Bekmambetov and is "certainly in contention for the part." Read More...

If the headline of this video hasn't already enticed you to watch, then the mock MPAA rating/preview banner our brilliant digital producers here at MTV News have created should. "Rated S for Smoldering," "contains longing gazes, perfect hair." Not to mention the opening bars of Usher's oh so romantic "OMG" playing in the background...

Robert Pattinson fans, this one's for you. Feast your eyes upon one of our finest video compilations yet, the "Smoldering Robert Pattinson Trailer Mash-Up."

In this surefire favorite, MTV News has compiled video clips of the RPattz at his finest (via trailers for "Twilight," "Little Ashes," "Water For Elephants" and "Remember Me"): lingering gazes across the parking lot in "Twilight," the casual-yet-perfect "doorway lean" in "Water for Elephants," sweet nothings whispered during one of 100 emotional chats between Edward and Bella...

In how many ways does Robert Pattinson smolder? Let us count... RPattz smolders the subway, looking out a dirty window, in a tux, in a vest, he even smolders in that "New Moon" scene when he walks out into the sun and you can see his crazy white chest (that's not in this video, but I had to get something in there that rhymed, Dr. Suess style). Pattz smolders in that "dazzling" meadow scene in "Twilight," whilst climbing trees, throwing branches, dancing at the prom, meeting elephants, covered in whipped cream? Perhaps there's a pie-eating contest-turned-food-fight in "Elephants."

The video continues with his expertise in grasping his lucky leading ladies ever so slightly (and sexily?) around the neck, and pulling them in close to him... Reese Witherspoon, Kristen Stewart, Emilie de Ravin, all poised for a perfect kiss. And then, out of nowhere, there's Pattinson punch! Quick clips of his fight/action scenes, and then, thankfully, the video concludes with a compendium of more Pattinson-patented smolder.

So what do you think? Did we do his smolder justice? Tell us in the comments!

George ClooneyThe revolving door of casting news/changes that has plagued Warner Bros' "Gravity" might officially have come to an end today, with The Hollywood Reporter breaking the news that George Clooney has signed on to take over Robert Downey Jr.'s role in the Alfonso Cuaron-directed sci-fi pic. Coincidentally enough, our savvy team here at Movies Blog suggested this very switch back in October when rumors surfaced that RDJ was dropping out.

Clooney takes over as a leader of a space station (said to be a supporting role) who is one of two survivors after the station is destroyed by space debris. Sandra Bullock (in the lead role) is playing a mother who is determined to return to Earth so she can be reunited with her daughter. Read More...

Blake EdwardsWriter-director Blake Edwards' death was felt in Twitter-Wood today. His films such as "Breakfast at Tiffany"'s and "The Pink Panther" influenced generations of Hollywood talent, and a few such actors and directors, including Edgar Wright, Steve Martin and William Shatner paid their respects with posts.

The sports world was sad as well, with Hall of Fame pitcher Bob Feller passing away; Brody Stevens honored his legacy, while yet even more distraught tweets reacted to news that "Stargate Universe" has been canceled on Syfy. Check out who's going to miss it down below.

It seems that "The Muppets" movie has more questions surrounding it than potential guest stars, so MTV's Josh Horowitz decided to set the record straight when he sat down with the film's star Jason Segel while he was promoting "Gulliver's Travels." Fortunately, Segel was able to answer several of the most important questions surrounding the upcoming film, but not the most important one: Will the Dracula musical make an appearance in the movie? Fingers crossed!

But the film will indeed be a full-fledged musical like Muppets movies from the 1990s. "I sing and dance," Segel confirmed. "Get ready. I actually dance. I like, dance. It's pretty crazy." Apparently there are between 10 and 12 musical numbers. Again, Dracula musical?! But at least Segel promised that -- for now -- the film won't be in 3-D. Read More...
