Robert Downey Jr.Here's another one to add to Robert Downey Jr.'s ever growing list of upcoming films: Deadline reports that RDJ is going to be starring in an untitled musical comedy from Brian Yorkey and Tom Kitt, the Pulitzer-prize winning duo behind the rock opera "Next To Normal."

For a man who is juggling six films on his plate right now, it's impressive that he's managed to have them all be wildly different from the others (unlike someone else we know).

The deals aren't set in stone yet, but Downey is expected to play one of two Broadway songwriters who end up financially and creatively bankrupt after their highly anticipated musical is a huge flop. To ease the pain, they take jobs as instructors at a theater camp they went to as kids. Read More...

Hard details about "Project X," the Todd Phillips-godfathered comedy starring a largely unknown cast of college-age kids, have been hard to come by these past few months. In general terms, the plot seems to have at least some connective creative tissue with Phillips' 1998 documentary, "Frat House," but in late August he told us, "It's not necessarily a return to that but a fresh approach to a really f--ked up incident."

What exactly that incident is — and how it ties into the movie's much-hyped "high concept" — Phillips wouldn’t say. No one, really, knows what the heck the movie is about. But now MTV News has learned details about one of the characters, played by Miles Teller.

We caught up with Teller on the red carpet for "Rabbit Hole" and asked him about "Project X."

"I play a kid who graduated from the high school the year before, kind of like the cool guy, cool dude on campus and brings a level of excitement and energy and other party favors to the party," he said. Read More...

Black SwanToday marked a sad day of remembrance for Chicago Cubs fans with the passing of former third baseman Ron Santo. Unless you're an avid Twitter reader, however, you may not have known that the Major League Baseball legend played a big role in actor Gary Sinise's life. You can read about that among the retweets below.

Other posts in our mix for today include a David Slade revelation about how Florence and the Machine were almost used in "Eclipse," as well as how he feels about the "Eclipse" soundtrack's Grammy nomination. It's all detailed after the jump along with Mary Elizabeth Winstead's micro-review of "Black Swan" and Matthew Broderick with a puppy.

I'm @brianwarmoth, and this is Twitter-Wood for December 3, 2010. Read More...

How to Train Your DragonAre you a fan of "Kung Fu Panda" and "How To Train Your Dragon"? We sure hope so, because you're about to get a whole lot more from both franchises!

DreamWorks Animation chief Jeffrey Katzenberg spoke with Empire about the developing sequels to some of the studio's most important properties. During the interview, Katzenberg revealed that there are five more "Kung Fu Panda" movies on the way — the forthcoming "Kaboom of Doom" included, presumably — as well as at least two more installments of "How To Train Your Dragon."

"'Kung Fu Panda' actually has 6 chapters to it, and we’ve mapped that out over the years," he said. "'How To Train Your Dragon' is at least three: maybe more, but we know there are a least three chapters to that story." Read More...

James BondAgent 007 has already locked in a November 2012 release date for his forthcoming return to the big screen, but less certain is the continued involvement of Daniel Craig and supposed director Sam Mendes.

Today, at least one of those two men inches closer towards the currently untitled 23rd James Bond movie. In an interview with The Daily Mail, Oscar winning actress Kate Winslet — who was formerly married to Mendes and is the mother of his children — said that she and her family will relocate to London as Mendes begins work on "Bond 23."

"Sam is doing the next Bond film, all being well, and we’ll all be in England if that happens," she said. "It’s such a massive commitment for him and it’s not fair for him to commute backwards and forwards to New York from London. It would be impossible. The children will be there with me." What do you do when you've got the Elder Wand in hand, Harry Potter and his pals on the lam, and the whole wizard world curled up in the fetal position at your feet? If you're Voldemort, you hit the Big Apple for a little vacay and let the good folks over at NextMovie videotape it for posterity. That's exactly what He Who Must Not Be Named did for the video below, strapping on his fanny pack for a tour of NYC hot spots like Times Square, Applebee's, Olive Garden and that place where you can buy the "I Love New York" T-shirt (you know the store we're talking about). Check it out below.

What do you think of the video? Tell us in the comments!

Natalie Portman in Black SwanIt's not a big secret that the two female leads of "Black Swan," played by Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis, are intentionally foils of one another. Portman's Nina personifies everything about the White Swan in "Swan Lake." She's poised, contained and rigid, so focused on her quest for perfection that she is seemingly passionless. Kunis' Lily, on the other hand, is the embodiment of the Black Swan: spontaneous, sensual and unrestricted. Together, they make one complete being.

The examination of these two characters' bond takes up a big part of the film, but analyzing character foils is nothing new to cinema. A character foil is described as "a character who represents a sharp contrast with the protagonist and thus serves to stress and highlight the protagonist's distinctive temperament," and plenty of films have them. We decided to take a look at some of our favorites after the jump. Read More...

FrankensteinFirst we got a retelling of "Beauty and the Beast" set in high class Manhattan in "Beastly," then we got a gothic twist on "Red Riding Hood" thanks to "Twilight" director Catherine Hardwicke, and now Mary Shelley's "Frankenstein" is about to get a modernized reboot.

Deadline reports that Sony Pictures has purchased the rights to "Frankenstein" and plans for "From Prada to Nada" writer Craig Fernandez to pen a contemporary version of the classic horror story. Considering Fernandez's "From Prada to Nada" is a modern retelling of "Sense and Sensibility" with a Latin spin, he might be the right guy for the job.

With Hollywood so hell-bent on taking these classic horror stories and making them young, hip and sexy, we figured we'd offer up a few of our own suggestions on some films we'd like to see get — for lack of a better phrase — the "Twilight" treatment. Who knows, maybe you'll have some hunky Frankenstein hanging on a poster over your bed next year? Read More...

Pirates of the CaribbeanSomeone at Disney better be out buying a whole lot of rum, because we're going to be getting a lot of Captain Jack Sparrow in the near future.

The fourth "Pirates of the Caribbean" film, "On Stranger Tides," has finally wrapped principle photography, and Disney must have really liked what they saw — because according to HitFix, we're going to be getting two more "Pirates" films after "On Stranger Tides" hits theaters in 2011.

Just like "Dead Man's Chest" and "At World's End" were shot back-to-back as the second and third "Pirates" movies, these next two installments will be filmed back-to-back whenever Disney can get its stars free, presumably at some point in 2011 after Johnny Depp is done filming "The Lone Ranger." Without official studio confirmation, it's safest to take this latest news as a rumor for now — but it's one heck of a rumor, to say the least. Read More...

Natalie Portman in Black SwanThere's been so much talk about the Natalie Portman-Mila Kunis sex scene in "Black Swan" -- yes, we know we're as guilty as anybody of stoking that fire -- we feel morally obligated to remind moviegoers that there is much, much more to this movie than two beautiful women seeing to each others between-the-sheets needs.

The unsettling psychological thriller is earning a boatload of Oscar buzz for Portman, Kunis and director Darren Aronofsky, and is already racking up best of 2010 accolades from the likes of the Gotham Independent Film Awards and the Indie Spirit Awards. Portman is being hailed as a front runner for the Best Actress Oscar for her fearless turn as Nina, an uptight ballerina whose obsession with dancing the lead in "Swan Lake" leads her to explore the dark side she didn't know she had. Kunis is said to be in the Best Supporting Actress mix for her performance as Nina's fierce on-stage rival (and, yes, even fiercer off-stage lover) Lily. And Aronofksy is getting the kind of Best Director Oscar talk he should have gotten for "The Wrestler."

Check out what critics have to say about the film after the jump. Read More...
