On December 17, "Tron: Legacy" will race its way onto the big screen, leaving a trail of neon light and badass action in its wake. And, in case you've been disappointed by the recent spate of movies that have added 3-D after the fact or were converted to IMAX to make a quick buck, rest assured that "Tron: Legacy" did neither of those things.

The sequel to 1986's "Tron" was filmed using 3-D cameras and has seven action-packed sequences that were shot specifically for IMAX. In other words, this is one film that was intended to be seen and heard -- and, more importantly, should be seen and heard -- in IMAX 3-D. Check out the exclusive "Tron: Legacy" featurette below for a glimpse at the grand spectacle and three-dimensional awesomeness that await.

Miley CyrusJust in case you wanted a color pic to go with your shot of John Cusack in "The Raven" from earlier today, he tweeted a creepy accompaniment that you may wish to check out.

Elsewhere, Miley Cyrus is still grabbing attention with that bong video from last week, and Seth MacFarlane suggested how she might have avoided being identified. And speaking of uncomfortable moments, an alternate "Yogi Bear" ending that you're not likely to see in theaters has been making the tweet rounds and was passed along by Paul Scheer to his followers today. You'll understand what I'm talking about down below, where you'll also find Jessica Alba sharing a special moment with MTV News' own Joshua Horowitz.

I'm @brianwarmoth, and this is Twitter-Wood for December 13, 2010. Read More...

Booboo in Yogi Bear"Hey, Boo Boo!" So begins this alternate ending to "Yogi Bear," in theaters this Friday (December 17). But while the clip begins with the salutation that has marked almost every Yogi-Boo Boo encounter since time immemorial, both on the small screen and in this new big-screen version, this meeting of the bears ends just a tad differently... specifically with Boo Boo blowing Yogi away with a shotgun. Seriously.

The animation is so clean and clear that online speculation is that the alternate ending was likely created by the film's animators themselves. Whether the hilariously morose clip made its way online purposefully or as an accident remains unclear, but two things are certain: 1) Warner Bros. has one hell of a marketing tool on their hands with this puppy and 2) watching this clip has brightened our day tenfold. Hit the jump to see the video. Read More...

Break out the rum (only if you're of age, of course): The first trailer for "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides" has dropped anchor on the Internet courtesy of Yahoo! Movies, and it will not disappoint fans of the series.

This may be Johnny Depp's fourth time wearing Captain Jack Sparrow's tattered pirate rags and half-drunken smirk, but if the actor is growing weary of the role it certainly doesn't show. In "Pirates 4," Captain Jack has eternal life on the brain, so he spearheads an expedition to find the fabled Fountain of Youth. As he explains in the trailer, there will be three dangers along the way: mermaids, zombies and Blackbeard. The mermaids, you see, enchant sailors with their beautiful visages and that whole "we're naked from the waist up" thing -- but as a couple of unlucky gents find in the trailer, kissing a mermaid can land you a one-way trip to Davy Jones' locker. The danger of zombies is pretty self-explanatory. And Blackbeard, well, he's plain eeeevil -- and, just to drive home that point, he's played by always formidable baddie Ian McShane. Read More...

Several months ago John Cusack announced that he would be playing Edgar Allan Poe in the upcoming murder mystery flick "The Raven," and we've been pretty intrigued by the project ever since. Now The Huffington Post has the first picture of Cusack in full Poe regalia, raven and all, and we've got to say we're officially impressed. We're not sure what's up with the goatee (we've only ever seen him in his mustachioed glory), but beyond that it's pretty much as spot-on Poe as you can get.

John Cusack as Edgar Allan Poe

The film's plot is inspired by the last few, mysterious days of Poe's life. Poe died at the age of 40 after he was found wandering disoriented and injured around the streets of Baltimore. The cause of his death is still unknown, and explanations range from cholera to rabies to suicide. But "The Raven" follows the conspiracy that Poe was actually tracking down a serial killer who based his crimes on Poe's horror stories. Read More...

President Obama and Paul RuddWe're all big fans of Paul Rudd here at MTV Movies Blog, but we weren't aware until this weekend that our appreciation for his comedic talent is shared by Paul McCartney (who appeared with Rudd on this weekend's "Saturday Night Live") and President Barack Obama. And both of them told him in person.

That's right, Obama invited Rudd and his "How Do You Know" co-star Reese Witherspoon to the Oval office so he could say hello to them while they were shooting the film in Washington, D.C. "We went to the Oval Office, and there was Hillary Clinton having a meeting with Joe Biden. It was insane," Witherspoon told Entertainment Weekly. "Then Obama came out and he turned to Paul and said, 'I loved you in "I Love You, Man."'I grabbed Paul and I was like, 'Are you freaking out right now?' He's like, 'I'm freaking out!'"

Not going to lie, we love the fact that Obama digs on one of our favorite recent films, so that got us thinking about which other films our current POTUS might secretly love. After all, we already know he's a fan of "Battlestar Galactica." Check out our list after the jump. Read More...

After eight seasons of saving the world one day at a time (literally) CTU super-agent and unequivocal badass (and the one man you never want to see on the other side of an interrogation room -- even if you are the one asking the questions) Jack Bauer signed off from Fox's "24" last May. It was a thrilling, emotional ride that saw the very flawed hero (played with Emmy-winning charisma, anger and valor by Kiefer Sutherland) foil numerous nuclear threats and presidential assassination attempts, featured one ill-advised use of a cougar, and depicted a cornucopia of sad deaths (Tony Almeida), shocking resurrections (Tony Almeida) and vile villains (also Tony Almeida!). It immortalized the line, "Dammit, Chloe! There isn't enough time!," provided topical commentary on our world's always shifting political backdrop and changed the way we think about serialized TV. In short, it was an awesome ride.

With the eight and final season -- as well as the complete series -- of "24" hitting DVD tomorrow (December 14), MTV News has scored an exclusive clip from the Season 8 DVD and Blu-ray bonus features. The clip, entitled "Goodbye," offers a behind-the-scenes peek at the series' last day of filming ever. Read More...

Liam Neeson in TakenIf you're a fan of Liam Neeson: Badass, then this is a big ol' exciting "Taken" post is just for you! During a charity event in Belfast, Neeson confirmed that his butt-kicking alter-ego Bryan Mills will be back at it again, saving the lives of virgin daughters worldwide. In other words, he said, "Yes, there'll be a 'Taken 2,' before these limbs give up on me."

That confirmation comes coupled with the news from Deadline that EuropaCorp, writer Luc Besson's movie factory, is working on a "Taken" TV series that will hit the small screen as a follow-up to "Taken 2." Apparently the film is set to start filming in the spring once a director is chosen (I guess Pierre Morel wasn't down for another go-around?). There's no word yet on what the plot of the TV series would be, but I think we can safely assume that Neeson won't be starring in it. Read More...

Robert De NiroDirector Martin Scorsese has a habit of working alongside the same actors for a multitude of different projects. But not all habits should be broken, especially when Scorsese is working with actors as talented as, say, Leonardo DiCaprio.

For a future project, Scorsese is turning his attention towards a tried and true face in his stable of ever-reliable actors: Robert De Niro. Digital Spy confirms an earlier MTV News scoop that Scorsese and De Niro are joining forces for "The Irishman," based on the novel "I Heard You Paint Houses."

The news comes straight from Scorsese's mouth, as the director "revealed that the project is currently going through financing, and shooting could begin as early as next year." He also revealed that "Gangs of New York" and "Cape Fear" screenwriter Steve Zallian is working on the script. Read More...

Black Swan vs. The Social NetworkPerhaps Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg has seen better years, but the feature film adaptation of his experiences creating the social networking juggernaut is doing just fine.

As awards season trudges on, "The Social Network" continues to prove itself as the critical darling to beat. Entertainment Weekly reports that David Fincher's latest has scored the top prizes for Best Picture from the Los Angeles Film Critics Association, the Boston Society of Film Critics and the New York Film Critics Online. Aaron Sorkin swept those same awards for his critically acclaimed screenplay.

"The Social Network's" three-sweep comes after already winning the Best Picture awards from the National Board of Review and the Washington, D.C. Film Critics Association, begging the question: is this year's Oscar winner already in the bag? Read More...
