Liam NeesonIn a quick turn of events by Hollywood standards, Liam Neeson has reportedly gone from rumored Mel Gibson-replacement on Friday to shooting his cameo in "The Hangover 2" in L.A. this past Sunday. Deadline broke the news that Neeson would be shooting his scene so quickly, presumably playing the Bangkok tattoo artist role Gibson was attached to.

On Friday, we talked about we hoped Neeson would get the cameo instead of the also rumored Robin Williams and Kurt Russell. The man certainly has a sense of humor (tell me "Release the Kraken!" isn't the most quoted line of 2010), but we've never seen him be a total nutjob in a comedy before. Read more...

Matt Damon in The Bourne UltimatumBy now, pretty much everyone and their mother has heard that there is going to be a fourth installment in the "Bourne" franchise and that, even though it will be called "The Bourne Legacy," there won't be anyone named Bourne in the actual movie.

That's right -- no Jason Bourne and no Matt Damon. There will be a whole lot of Tony Gilroy, however: He co-wrote the first three "Bourne" films, is co-writing and directing "Legacy," and says that the new film (or, more likely, films) will "expand the mythology" of the series, focusing on one or more new brainwashed assassins... and eventually pave the way for the return of Damon's Bourne somewhere down the line.

Here's the funny thing: Apparently, no one bothered to run any of this by Damon. Read more...

Paranormal Activity 2It was a scary good weekend for Paramount Pictures and its horror sequel "Paranormal Activity 2." Made for a modest $3 million, the film set records for the biggest R-rated midnight opening ever and the biggest R-rated opening night ever en route to terrorizing the weekend box office to the tune of $41.5 million and a No. 1 B.O. ranking. But did the movie live up to the hype and high fan expectations?

The rabid fans that MTV interviewed after early midnight screenings seemed to think so. They called it "really scary," "better than the first one," "ten times scarier than the first one" and "worse than the first one, but good ... in a good way." Now that you've seen "Paranormal Activity," do you agree? Take the poll after the jump and let us know! Read more...

Kane WestNot one to be satisfied with greatness, rapper Kanye West decided instead to aim for something truly extraordinary with the music video for his song "Runaway." The result is an exceedingly ambitious 40-minute film that has already wowed audiences at screenings in London, Los Angeles and most recently New York, garnering comparisons to Michael Jackson's "Thriller" and Prince's "Under the Cherry Moon."

Tonight (Saturday, October 23) at 8 p.m. ET the film will finally reach a wide audience when it debuts simultaneously on MTV, MTV2 and BET, and streams live on MTV.com, BET.com and VH1.com, followed by a live Q&A session on MTV and MTV.com.

"Runway" tells the story of a phoenix (played by model Selita Ebanks, rumored to be West's real-life leading lady) who falls to Earth and is saved by Griffin (a.k.a. Kanye) but later bursts into flames when she's ridiculed by petty humans. Read more...

Justin Bieber in The Hangover

Love Mel Gibson or loathe him, you have to admit you were at least interested -- if not excited -- to see what he'd do with his cameo as a Bangkok tattoo artist in "The Hangover 2." Sadly, some cast and crew unrest put the kibosh on that, and "The Hangover 2" is now eying Liam Neeson, Robin Williams or Kurt Russell as a potential replacement.

While those three veteran actors sound like dandy options, we can't help but think that there are a few other celebs out there that would kick butt in a cameo so over-the-top outrageous that it'd make Mike Tyson singing look like high drama. As you may have surmised from the photo above, Justin Bieber made our "Hangover" cameo shortlist as a "Little Man"-esque version of baby Carlos. Hit the jump to see who else is on our wishlist! If you're a true Potterhead, chances are you're currently experiencing cold sweats, sleepless nights and dizzy spells as you try to contain your anticipation for "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1." And while we can't make the November 19 release date get here any quicker, we do have some news (and an exclusive clip) that should make the wait a tad more bearable.

This past Tuesday "Harry Potter and the Prizoner of Azkaban" and "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" Ultimate Editions arrived on DVD and Blu-ray, packed with loads of never-before-seen extras, deleted scenes and collector's items. The exclusive "Prisoner of Azkaban" Blu-ray extra below shows how F/X wizards created a giant troll. Hey, we know it's not "Deathly Hallows: Part 1"... but hopefully it helps the edge off.

Are you going to check out the "Azkaban" and "Goblet" Ultimate Editions? And just how pumped are you for "Deathly Hallows"?

John StamosSooner or later, Fridays are going to require an all-image spinoff column if Twitter-Wood keeps up its current weekly output. Not only did Carlton Cuse get a rare shot of Bill Murray in the wild; a "Twilight" actor expressed fears that he looks too much like Will Smith, and John Stamos snuck another shot off of the "Glee" set.

In addition to Edgar Wright's reaction to "Paranormal Activity 2" today, you'll also find a confession from someone who impersonated Tom Hanks during the "Night of Too Many Stars" fundraiser last night and a "Jackass 3D" micro-review from Eli Roth. If that's still not enough for you, Jerry Bruckheimer revealed another few actors appearing in "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides."

I'm @brianwarmoth, and this is Twitter-Wood for October 22, 2010. Read more...

Liam NeesonWith Mel Gibson a definite no-go for the "The Hangover 2," Warner Bros. is already off to the races to land another A-list cameo for the film.

According to Variety, the studio is seeking none other than Liam Neeson for the role. A source close to the production confirmed as much to MTV News, but went on to say that two other actors are also in the studio's cross-hairs: Robin Williams and Kurt Russell.

Will the studio land one of these three big names? And if it does, will the actor in question play the Bangkok tattoo artist role that had been on tap for ole Mel? For now, Warner Bros. is keeping mum on that, though studio powers-that-be did say they are "very happy" with the script and most definitely eying a veteran actor (and not a former boxer) for the cameo. Zach GalifianakisEntertainment reporters interview celebrities — it's in the job description. Sometimes these interviews go incredibly well, and sometimes they go incredibly poorly. Sometimes, they fall into a no man's land of awkwardness that few people are likely to encounter in their lifetime.

Gordon Keith's interview with Zach Galifianakis falls into the latter category. But beyond being an extremely uncomfortable exchange, it's also a hilarious one.

Keith, a Texas radio and television personality, had the opportunity to sit down with "The Hangover" star during a press junket promoting Galifianakis' latest film, "It's Kind of a Funny Story." But rather than asking the comedian about the nuances of the film and the subtle crafting of his character Bobby, Keith instead opted to focus on other details, like Galifianakis' tendency to wear itchy sweaters and the unique fragrance of co-star Emma Roberts.

Yes, really. Just check out the interview for yourself after the jump. Read more...

Finally, finally, we're in the home stretch until the release of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1." The penultimate film in the "Harry Potter" series will hit theaters one month from today, and to psyche us up Warner Bros. has gifted us with yet another "Potter" TV spot.

There's nothing in this minute-long teaser that we haven't seen before, but it's still enough to get us excited. After all, it contains the majority of the elements of the film we're most looking forward to. Bill Nighy as Rufus Scrimgeour? Check. Voldemort/Harry dichotomy? Check. Locket Horcrux being destroyed? Check. Read more...
