Banksy's Simpsons IntroThe "Red" premiere must have been a lively event, judging from the Twitter pics that showed up last night. "Eclipse" actor BooBoo Stewart grabbed a photo op with Morgan Freeman, as well as "Weird Al" Yankovic, who found Ernest Borgnine. Their picto-posts were accompanied by some slice of life scenes from Seth Green, Snoop Dogg and Milla Jovovich, which you'll also find below.

In trending current events topics, Steve Martin and Simon Pegg cracked some jokes but also sent sympathies out to the trapped Chilean Miners, Damon Lindelof threw a tweet in Brett Favre's face and David Silverman was glad the Internet seemed to like Banky's "Simpsons" intro.

Some movie trailers, like the first for this summer's hit "Inception," reveal absolutely nothing about the film but leave viewers with an unquenchable thirst to see it. Other trailers, like the one just released for Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's action-thriller "Faster," basically leave viewers feeling like they've just watched the entire movie in the span of two-and-a-half minutes. But, as the "Faster" trailer illustrates, that's not necessarily a bad thing.

The clip shows Johnson's character Driver -- who's fresh off a 10-year prison sentence and looking to avenge his brother's murder -- methodically blowing away most of his bro's killers (there are like 10) while being pursued by a soon-to-be-retired cop (Billy Bob Thornton), a young Abercrombie-model-looking hitman (Oliver Jackson-Cohen) and Shannon from "Lost" (Maggie Grace).

Sure, the trailer probably shouldn't have shown (or implied) some of those killings, but we're going to go out on a limb and say that the feature film will contain a few great death scenes, as well as some twists, not depicted in the clip. Read More...

Clint EastwoodWould playing Leonardo DiCaprio's on-screen lover in Clint Eastwood's "Hoover" have been enough to resurrectJoaquin Phoenix's still-tarnished film career? Maybe... but unfortunately we'll never know.

During an interview with Reuters, Eastwood emphatically denied Phoenix was in contention for the role of Clyde Tolson in the biopic on J. Edgar Hoover.

"No. I don't know where that came from," Eastwood said. "Didn't he become a rapper?"

Sort of... but not really, as we all discovered when Casey Affleck revealed that "I'm Still Here" was a hoax. But it still is a bit of a disappointment that Phoenix's mutilation of his own career for the sake of Affleck's doc potentially contributed to his not getting what would have been a great role. Napoleon DynamiteSix years have passed since we've seen the smooth moves of teen geek heartthrob Napoleon Dynamite. But 20th Century Fox is bringing the character back in all of his nun-chuck and computer-hacking glory with an all-new animated series arriving next year.

With director and co-writer Jared Hess executive producing the show and Jon Heder and other actors returning to reprise their beloved characters, we're absolutely excited to see what the series has to offer -- so much so that we're already thinking about other movies that would make for great cartoon shows!

Check out some of our suggestions for movies-turned-cartoons after the jump! Read More...

Peter JacksonLet's go over the preliminaries: We're ridiculously excited that after what seems like the longest process ever there is finally (sort of) some forward momentum on "The Hobbit." But an article posted by New Zealand Herald News said the films, which are being shot back-to-back and are still awaiting an official green light, are expected to cost in the $500 million price range.

That would make it the most expensive movie production of all time, beating out even "Avatar" and the two "Pirates of the Caribbean" sequels (which hold the record with a combined price tag of $450 mil) for the title. Will all that money make for better flicks, though? Or will Peter Jackson's insane budget garner the same result his monetary freedom on "King Kong" did? To make a quick comparison, "King Kong" cost $207 million to make and grossed $550 million worldwide, while all three "Lord of the Rings" films cost $285 million cumulatively and made $2.9 billion worldwide. Chew on that. Read More...

FROM MTV SPLASH PAGE: After the cast of "The Avengers" assembled for the first time at Comic-Con in July — Marvel vets like Robert Downey Jr. standing with newbies such as Mark Ruffalo — a former superhero might have been thinking, "Man, that could've been me…"

Before Ruffalo was tapped to play the Hulk — and before Ed Norton played the green-skinned Goliath in 2008 — Eric Bana owned the role. But the Ang Lee-directed film in which Bana starred never took off at the box office in 2003, the part was recast, and years later the actor admits he could end up being envious of what Ruffalo and his cast mates will get to enjoy.

"Only if they have a lot of fun," he explained while at New York Comic Con promoting the thriller, "Hanna." "The obvious potential there is those movies can be a lot of fun to make. But then sometimes they're not. I would be jealous if it turns out they just go off and have a good time." Read more...

Before this weekend, M. Night Shyamalan had never been to a comic conference of any kind. But luckily for fans of the "Sixth Sense" and "Unbreakable" director, he made an exception for New York Comic Con 2010, where he turned out for an hour-long panel moderated by MTV's own Josh Horowitz. The panel was not to discuss the auteur's most recent cinematic endeavor, "The Last Airbender," however; instead, Night was on hand to reminisce about "Unbreakable," which -- believe it or not -- celebrates its 10-year anniversary this November.

Initially met with box office and critical disdain when it was released in 2000, Shyamalan's tale of a security guard (Bruce Willis) who discovers that he's a real-life comic-book hero, has come to be regarded as one of the finest superhero films ever put to celluloid.

During an illuminating panel discussion in the Javits Center's packed theater, Night talked about why he hasn't made "Unbreakable 2" (he said he felt like "a failure" after the film's icy reception), showed the audience never-before-seen story boards, and walked the crowd through his creative process. Morgan Freeman has wanted to bring an adaptation of Arthur C. Clarke's classic 1972 sci-fi novel "Rendezvous With Rama" to the big screen for the better part of a decade-and-a-half. But despite having David Fincher attached to direct back in 2007, the project -- which tells of a group of human explorers trying to unlock the mysteries of an alien vessel that enters the Earth's atmosphere -- has never taken off.

When MTV News chatted with Freeman at the junket for the action-comedy "Red," we asked the acting legend whether the spaceship has sailed on this particular "Rendezvous." He responded by uttering the word "no" about 37 times in a row. Care to elaborate, Mr. Freeman?

"We're still pushing for 'Rendezvous With Rama,'" he said. "That's a got-to-be-done movie. Just have to figure out how to do it. I've been trying for -- I don't know -- 15 years now to get a script. You would think it was easier than it is. It's not; it's really hard." Read More...

Rhys InfansFROM MTV SPLASH PAGE: After rumors that ranged from Michael Fassbender to Philip Seymour Hoffman, it appears that the villain in director Marc Webb's "Spider-Man" reboot has finally been found in the form of Rhys Ifans.

Deadline reports the breaking news that Sony Pictures Entertainment has offered the lead villain role in "Spider-Man" to the Welsh actor. If he accepts the offer, Ifans will join a growing cast list that already includes Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker and Emma Stone as his ill-fated first love Gwen Stacy.

It's currently unknown which villain Ifans would play in the "Spider-Man" reboot. Based on his body type and the characters he's known to play, not to mention the involvement of Stone as Gwen Stacy, it's not far-fetched to imagine that Ifans is playing Green Goblin. But the character was famously played by Willem Dafoe in the original Sam Raimi-directed "Spider-Man" film, and it's possible that Sony will want to move away from that series as they reboot the franchise. Is Rhys Infans the right man to play the villain in the "Spider-Man" reboot? And which villain would you like to see him play? Let us know in the comments!

Katy PerryStephen Fry surprised some Apple loyalists today by heaping praise on top of Microsoft's new Windows Phone 7 devices. He's been a vocal supporter of Apple products in the past, but he offered an explanation of his open-minded position on Twitter.

In other tweets, everyone seemed to have a picture with someone else to share in the last 24 hours. "Weird Al" Yankovic arm wrestled with Fred Willard; Selena Gomez hit up a Katy Perry show; Ludacris went cruising with Tyrese Gibson; and Hugh Hefner hosted "Social Network" producer Dana Brunetti at the Playboy Mansion for a screening. Links to the pics await you after the jump along with Edgar Wright remembering the late Solomon Burke.
